《Psycho X Psychic》Chapter 23 - Talk To Sleep

Everything lined up. With the video being the greatest piece of evidence, the father was already guilty in the eyes of the policemen.
Iesa was to be sent home while her mother was contacted.
However, there was no answer. It is already night so they will try the other day.
The victim, Iesa requested for the incident not to be publicized. The same with the "hero" Teren denied publicity.
Inside the house, Iesa saw the remnants of the extensive search of the police. She was currently alone, that was why as soon as Teren got home, he texted her.
[Are you okay there?]
Iesa lied down on the bed of her parents. Since the door of her bedroom was destroyed, she didn't feel comfortable staying there, especially that it was the place she was almost attacked by her own father.
However, she was not that sad, unexpectedly.
[Yeah, better than ever.]
[That's good.]
[Also...]
[What?]
Iesa pursed her lips as she typed.
[I have something to talk about, can I call you?]
[Opoilkg]
[Huh?}
[I mean, of course. hahaha, I just dropped my phone.]
Iesa giggled. It took her a moment before she made the phone call.
Ring*
It didn't take long before there was a click.
"Hello?"
Iesa covered herself with the blanket, making herself comfortable.
-"Y-yeah...?"
"Are you nervous?" she laughed.
-"N-no, anyway, what do you want to say?"
"It's just something about I heard."
'Even though it's actually their thoughts, I still heard it.'
-"What is it?"
"When the police came, there are some reports that our neighborhood heard loud noises from their roof."
-"Ah.. It's because I ran through the rooftop since that's the fastest way to get there..."
"Eh... Then how did you find out about our address?"

-"This will sound creepy but... I already tracked it yesterday the same time I downloaded the 'evidence'. I'm sorry."
"Hehe, what's there to be sorry about?"
'So he already prepared for the worst when I told him the story...'
They talked to each other until the clock struck midnight and passed that.
Only when Iesa no longer replied did Teren realized she was already asleep.
Teren ended the call and just stared at the ceiling.
'Holy shit I can't sleep. My heart is still pounding.'
After a moment he thought of that, he fell asleep.
.....
Thursday came and school began.
As their first period, Teacher Hanon came in.
"Good morning, students. Since I'm your first subject, I'm going to check the attendance."
Lina turned around and saw that three chairs were empty.
'What the fuck is happening? Is God tired of me and is trying to shit on my life?'
Just as she thought of those words, the door opened and Iesa entered.
She walked with grace and unrestrained.
"Sorry, Sir Hanon, I have my reason for being late. However, it is personal.so if it's okay, I will tell the reason later at the faculty?"
Teacher Hanon was a bit surprised.
'Why did her attitude suddenly change? I thought she was shy and timid.' he waved his hand and said.
"Okay, I hope that the reason is valid... so, what name did I lef-"
The door opened again and Teren came in.
"Sorry, Sir... umm... Sorry, Sir, I'm late." he scratched his head.
"Ok-" Sir Hanon was about to let him when Iesa raised her hand and said.
"Sir Hanon, Teren has a personal excuse too."
"I do...?" Teren didn't really care about the attendance.
The class, especially, Lina found it very suspicious.

'What? Did something happen between them last night?'
"So, Teren, you will tell me the reason too later?"
Teacher Hanon asked.
Teren glanced at Iesa and only nodded.
"Yes, sir."
"Okay..."
Teacher Hanon then continued on calling names for attendance.
Meanwhile, the class was having multiple thoughts about what happened between Iesa and Teren.
'Did they do something together last night?'
'Maybe they did it?'
'Too fast. Or maybe they broke up.'
Iesa was proud of her for keeping up a straight face.
Teren looked at her and thought,
'She's back to normal...'
After putting the attendance book down, Teacher Hanon then looked at the two and asked.
"So are you ready?"
"..."
Teren was already asleep while Iesa tilted her head in question.
'The Devil Himself is sleeping. Should I let him? But that would put me on the spot. He doesn't know who I am in the first place, except that I'm his teacher, so I doubt he will do anything to me since I'm just doing my job.'
Iesa frowned: 'There is it again. What is Sir Hanon calling Teren, the Devil Himself?'
Without any choice, Hanon walked to Teren and tapped on his back.
"Hello?"
Soon, Teren woke up and looked at him.
"Yes?"
Seeing the dazed and innocent look on Teren's face, Hanon frowned.
'Is he really the Devil Himself? Killing an innocent child would leave a bad taste for me.'
Iesa's expression suddenly changed.
'Brownish hair and scary eyes- Teren Hark. He is Teren Hark but I see nothing scary about him Is what the survivor from the Handwing Gang said a lie? If the Spectra gang attacked now and we killed the wrong guy, we may get annihilated by the true Devil Himself once we invade this city.'
"Teren, do you remember what I told you two yesterday?"
"You told us... yesterday?" Teren frowned.
"Yeah, I told you two to prepare four lies and two truths each, right? Come on, stand in front of the class and let's play!"
Both Iesa and Teren were shocked for different reasons.
In the end, both Iesa and Teren stood in front of the class.
"You already prepared your six statements each, right? The rules are simple, you enumerate them then the other will found what is the two lies in those six statements. Teren, can you start?"
Teren, who just woke up and in a daze had no idea what to say.
'Six statements about me? I just have to say something.'

Old Riding Author Lunatic Asylum
Just off the A19, in the dark, incomprehensible lands known as Yorkshire, there lies a town. A town where shadow-silent alleys glint with the secret hunger of knives. Where blood soaks the chipboard window shutters of forsaken terraces stretching off into the night. Where the smog-choked air rattles with the depraved laughter echoing out from clubs that can only generously be described as post-apocalyptic. Well, that’s Middlesbrough. But down the A19 a bit (an impossibly long way down, actually) there lies another town: Raughnen, in the ancient, forgotten Old Riding. It is an equal match in muggery and thuggery alike. It also has magic spells and pointy wizard hats. And now, across the miles and across all sensibilities, a pretty nasty power (a magic one) calls out for its pretty nasty counterpart (a decidedly unmagic one): a proper sound Boro lad. Nothing good can come of it. This is a collection of one novella and four connected short stories: I. A Yorkshire Summoning II. Old Riding Day Trip (the novella) III. Heaven is a Parmo IV. Death on the 66 V. Death on the 257 In total, this comprises 34 chapters totalling around 35,000 words, so try not to worry. It will be over relatively quickly. There are three more short stories with more tenuous links to the core collection: Rush, Paper Round and Scenario 79: Sausage Fingers, all of which can be found in my collection Short Records of Misadventure. Reading these may allow you to make more sense of certain parts of the story, if any sense is to be made at all. NOTE: There are instances of prejudice and discrimination within these stories, including elements of sexism and ageism, which are purely the thoughts and actions of the characters involved and which certainly do not reflect my own views on these matters. ANOTHER NOTE; A WARNING, PERHAPS: This can get a bit weird. In less than 150 pages, we have four viewpoints, first and third person narratives, and a completely disjointed plot with lots of gaps, dead ends and no real resolution. Also ZERO lunatic asylums. It's all a bit odd. If that sort of thing isn't your cup of tea, which it most likely isn't, it might be best to move on now.
