《Psycho X Psychic》Chapter 11 - News From Iesa's Mother

The second day of school was about to finish when Sir Jerad suddenly dropped a bomb.
"Okay, for your homework-"
"Argh..." groans were heard everywhere in class but Sir Jerad continued.
After giving out the tasks, he then announced.
"Since orientation day is finished, tomorrow, you will be meeting your other subject teachers. As you know, I'm your adviser and also your science teacher."
"What?!"
"What is happening?"
"Sir Jerad is our science teacher?"
Sir Jerad's face twitched.
"Okay, I'm a bit offended so how about I give a second homework?"
"Sir Jared is our science teacher, hooray!"
The whole class laughed.
Although it seemed that the whole class was already friends, it was just Mike and Catherine's group who were making the noises. Others were just laughing along.
The "cool kids" have already formed a group.
"Actually, your orientation day should actually yesterday. However, there are some delays. You will learn more about it tomorrow. For now, you go home."
Light cheers erupted as students already came out.
"Hey! Teren! Wake up!" Lina shrugged Teren's body as he was sleeping again.
It took her quite a moment before he woke up.
But before she could say anything, her friends outside called her.
"Lina, let's come home now!"
"Ah... coming!" Lina then turned around and found Iesa still on her chair.
'Huh? Is she waiting for him?'
"You want to go to a karaoke first?"
"Yes!" Lina hopped towards her friends.
After Lina left, it took Teren a while before he became clear-minded. He took his bag and walked out of the room. He walked out to the school gate and took a turn on the corner before turning around and asked.
"Iesa... why are you following me?"

"Eh?" Iesa was startled, "I... I thought we were going to talk about something...?"
"Oh, I guess I left you hanging. Nope, I already said that I will think about how to bribe you or what to bribe..." after thinking for a bit, Teren decided to ask.
"Well, since you're here, is there anything you want? If I can give it, we can have a transaction."
Iesa was still calm since they were still a few people passing through that street.
'Since he's a psychopath, can I ask him to do something about that old pervert?' but that was just a passing thought, 'There's no way I can ask that.'
"I can't think of any..." she answered with a lowered head.
"Is that so... then how about I walk you to your house?"
Teren suggested out of nowhere which startled Iesa.
"W-why?"
"I don't know. That's the only thing I can think of doing for you. You don't know this but there are a lot of dangerous people out there. Do you always come home alone?"
'Aren't you talking about yourself?'
Iesa nodded, "Yeah, but... but I'm fine..."
"..." Teren noticed her uncomfortable expression again, 'She's still scared of me. I shouldn't be too front.'
Looking at the situation he is in and thought.
'She's becoming like a street cat instead of a witness. I have to earn her trust first before she can open up and tell me what she wants.'
"How about this? I'll give you my phone number. If you're ever troubled, just call me."
He took his phone out and showed his phone number to her.
It took Iesa a moment before she reacted and typed in his number.
'Is this the right thing to do? Should I really be going with his flow? I'm becoming his accomplice now...' she then glanced at Teren and thought, 'But I have no choice! I just have to stay quiet and wish that he wouldn't do anything to me.'

After that, both went on a separate path.
When Iesa got home, she was greeted by her mother and father.
"It's good that you're early today." her father smiled at her.
"Yeah..."
"Perfect timing, I have news to tell you two." her mother then sat on the table with a wide smile.
When Iesa heard her mother's thoughts, her face paled.
'Finally, my online application got accepted. I'm just going to tell them it's business so I can get out of this house.'
After telling them the news, her father's face darkened.
Iesa heard his thoughts.
'Why did she got a job first before I do!? Fuck! Now I will look like a useless father!'
But after that thought, it became silent. Iesa took a glance and saw that her "father" was looking at her.
'I guess me and Iesa will get a time alone now. This bitch is always in the house.'
Iesa's fist clutched and trembled.
"I think they will call me again by tomorrow and will tell me when I should go. So for the meantime, you will help your father inside the house, okay?"
'I am not useless, you bitch!' although the father was smiling and nodding, he was raging inside.
"O-okay, mom. Good luck on your business trip."
...
Wednesday morning, the school bell rang again.
"Teren Hark and Iesa Hun, you're called to the principal's office." Sir Jerad said.
Thud*
Iesa's heartbeat rose.
Walking right beside Teren made her tenser.
"I wonder what they want from us?" Teren casually asked.
'You psychopath! Aren't you at least a bit nervous at all!?' Iesa screamed in her mind.
Knocking on the door to the principal office, a voice replied from within.
"Come in."
When Teren pushed the door, he and Iesa saw the principal, an old man, and a couple of policemen.
"Teren Hark and Iesa Hun?" the principal stood up.
"Yes, principal?" Iesa lowered her head while Teren just nodded.
"Sit down, these officers need something from you two."
Just hearing this made Iesa sweat. This reaction was obvious to the eyes of the officers and especially to the old detective.
"Don't worry, pretty girl, we are not going to arrest you." the old detective laughed.
"Uh... y-yes." Iesa forcibly and lightly laughed too.
The old detective then glanced at their main target, Teren Hark.
