Jamie was holding an empty glass bowl and as she heard what Jessica said the bowl dropped while she stumbled back, her heart racing quickly. Jessica supported her by holding her shoulders as she said "Are you okay?"

Before Jamie could reply Rachel who had just stepped out rushed back in "Mom! What happened."

Jamie smiled "I am fine, it's just that I am a little clumsy today."

She looked at Jessica and then back at Rachel "Go ask your dad to help me in the kitchen."

Rachel nodded and went out "Alright, I will send him."

As Rachel went out an expression of anxiety appeared on her face "Why is he coming?"

Jessica realised her hands and supported her back against the wall "Both of them want to meet each other as they want to know their worthy opponent."

Jamie's mood turned sour "Why did she have to be so good at business, will it be alright. I still feel it is too soon."

Jessica said in a calm tone "Don't worry bout of them didn't have any memory lapse so it should be fine but the problem here is not that. It is that if they detect each others powers Rachel might end up killing him."

Jamie's eyes widened "You are right, what are we going to do."

Jessica smiled "Let's make tonight's celebration a masquerade ball so that they can not see each other. She won't kill him in front of someone many people and she won't be able to find him later, when he wears a mask."

Jamie smiled "You are smart, it's a great idea, let's go with that. I will let all the guests know about this."

Jessica nodded "It is perfect for them to spend some time together and with Rachel's attitude, she is never going to ask the other person to remove the mask."

Jamie nodded and she was about to tell her to go to Rachel when Charles rushed in worried "Are you alright, did you get hurt."

Jamie smiled and placed a hand on his arms "Don't worry, I am fine."

Jessica left the kitchen and Charles pulled her to the side "You stay away I will get it cleaned, you take some rest."

Jamie smiled and placed a hand on his cheek "Your worry is useless, I am perfectly fine just help me with some things in the kitchen."

He called a maid to get the floor cleaned and then lightly pushed her out of the kitchen "No, you are not needed here, I will handle everything."

Jamie tried to protest but she was pushed out of the kitchen so she went to see the other decorations. Rachel was sitting in her room checking the details of the University that she was going to study in as the classes were to start in next 2 weeks, she began to make a list of the things that she had to study and the time that she had to give to everything, she wanted to be ready for her first day and grasp as much new knowledge as she could. She was always a focused person while doing her work but now as she did her work her thoughts continuously drifted to meeting this mysterious person. She didn't know why but she felt even more excited than she should have been feeling.

Robert had never seen Rachel before he began to plot against her but the day she beat her, he immediately switched on her television and watched her interview. He wanted to see this person and her attitude but what she saw was beyond his expectations. She was the person who had grabbed his attention more than anything and he had felt the urge to live which had vanished from his heart. He smiled coldly and said to himself "It is a must that we should meet."

Later he called her but her number was switched off and he had to say that it made him sad. He had asked his sister to arrange for the number and she was more than happy to give it to her. Later when she called back, a smile formed on his lips a little bit of happiness crept into his heart.

After talking to her the smile on his lips widened "What an exceptional person, I have never seen anyone talk to me in that tone only after hearing my voice. I have to say that in this long and boring life it is the first time someone brought an excitement to it. I am so looking forward to meeting you tonight."

Later he told Jessica that he was going to join the party which had her worried initially but when her brain gave her the solution, she went to talk to Jamie about it.

Jamie had sent the message to everyone about the masquerade ball and the settings of the hall and decorations were changed accordingly. After all the decorations were done, Jessica told Jamie that she would go home to change her clothes and come back later and Jamie didn't have any problem with that soon she went home quickly.

It was almost time that she had to get dressed if she wanted to be by her best friend's side on time so she rushed to her room to get dressed and bumped into Robert who was already well dressed.

She looked at him in shock and could not help but leave a sarcastic comment "Are you going somewhere else too or do you plan to go and help the maids at the ball."

He smiled and this was the first time she had seen him smile so genuinely since he returned from death, he spoke "I am just eager to meet this person, she is way too interesting."

Jessica shook her head "Don't worry we will be there on time, let me get dressed first."

He nodded and told her "Your dress is on the bed, it was delivered today so I kept it there."

She turned around "Did you order it."

He nodded "It was going to for the celebration of my victory but let it be for you friend's victory."

She smiled "You were so overconfident and see what happened."

He smiled "I don't mind."

She was going to go to her room when she stopped and looked at him again "I forgot to tell you, it was changed to a masquerade party so prepare a mask for yourself."

He nodded "Even if it was a normal one I was going to wear a mask, I don't want her to see me yet."

She rolled her eyes and thought 'His romance has started even before meeting her, he is going to get worse.' She went to her room to get dressed.

Rachel's reaction was almost similar to him and she too was dressed early due to the excitement. She had a black coloured mask with her to wear which matched her black floor length gown with a belt in the middle to tie around her waist and a heavy design on the chest area. She was the exceptional beauty as always, the one that would always be the center of attraction in the room she entered but always a difficult one to approach to.

She did her hair and finally wore her heels and when it was time to go he wore the mask that covered her eyes and nose. With half of her face covered, she was sure that there would be less people talking to her as they would not recognize her. She went downstairs and saw that the hall was already half filled so her gaze began to search through the crowd but she didn't see any person that she imagined could be the mysterious man she wanted to meet which made her spirit go down a little. She entered the hall and all the eyes turned towards her but it was completely opposite to what she had imagined, everyone recognized her and came forward to meet her. Most of them were here to talk to her about business and she knew that so she denied everyone politely "We can talk about business anytime, let's enjoy the party today."

She was now searching the crowd for a familiar face when she finally came across Oliver. She went to him and said "Finally you are here." she then assessed him and a small smile formed on her lips "Don't you look handsome today."

He raised his eyebrows "Are you trying to flirt with me because I will be more than happy to return it with a kiss."

As he said those words, a familiar bone chilling shiver ran down his spine but he ignored it as Rachel smiled at him "Try it if you want to get beaten up."

He laughed and then said "Come I will have you meet my parents."

She smiled and said "Wait for a while, let me find Jessica first, I don't know where she is lost."

He nodded "No problem, you meet her and I will go talk to other people then take you to my parents."

Rachel nodded her head and began to search the room again she she heard a voice from behind "Finally we meet."
