Jessica had come to this place in her car so she helped Robert into the back seat while Jamie carried Rachel in her arms. Jessica came to the front and began driving the car while Jamie made a call to Charles and told him everything that had happened. He too had the same reaction as them although he didn't cry, he was heartbroken for his daughter. He then said in a sad tone "I will open the back door and you take her directly to her room."

Jamie agreed and then hung up the call. After they reached the place, they entered through the back door which Robert had made sure that no guest would come to and then Rachel was taken to her room. Jessica looked at Jamie and said "I will take brother home and then come back."

Jamie nodded and sent her out she then placed a kiss on top of her daughter's head finally turning towards Robert she spoke "We should attend the guests first, her long absence might cause problems."

Charles nodded "What are we going to tell them because we were supposed to cut the cake at 12 and it's already an hour late, they are getting impatient."

Jamie looked at him and with a calm expression she said "I will handle that."

He nodded and they headed downstairs, as Charles had mentioned they were getting impatient so Jamie went to the stage and said "I am really sorry for making everyone wait, we were supposed to be good hosts and attend you well but unexpectedly Rachel slipped and fell from the stairs. As they were not much, she was not injured but fell just unconscious so I would like you all to just wait for a while as she gets ready to come back down. We will cut the cake very soon and you can continue with enjoying the party."

She had to at least wait for Jessica to come back and remove everyone's memories about meeting Robert because if he was brought up in front of Rachel, she was sure to remember everything. She went back to the room after making the announcement and she saw Rachel sitting on the bed looking around confused. At the sight of her mother she asked "What happened, Mom?"

Jamie took in a deep breath and told her what she had told the guests but then she put on a smile and hugged her daughter "Thank God you are fine, we were so worried."

As she pulled back from her mother's grasp a few tears involuntarily dropped from her eyes as she spoke "Is that it then why do I feel that something really bad has happened as if someone has died and there is the part of my memory that I can't remember. Why am I feeling this strange pain in my chest as if I have lost something really precious."

She then looked into her mother's eyes nervously "Mom is everyone alright."

Jamie suppressed her tears and put on a forceful smile "Have you hit your head that you are talking like this?"

Rachel tried to smile but the smile didn't form on her lips so she said "Mom, let's go and cut the cake and get this over with because I don't feel too well."

Jamie smiled and nodded at her "Off course we will do that but you have to smile because it is your birthday."

She nodded and then Jamie said "Just wait a while Jessica went home for something, she will be back soon then we can go and cut the cake."

Rachel nodded and then looked at her mother "Meanwhile tell me about my powers that I have received."

Jessica had very carefully removed every part of Robert, Kevin and Lora from her memory while taking care that the important parts still remained silent the part about her powers was told to her by Jessica so she didn't need to change anything about it and Jamie too replied calmly "Let her return and let us finish with all this then she can explain this to you herself."

She nodded her head and just then Jessica entered the room and began to speak without looking "I am sorry for being late brother...." she finally said that Rachel was awake and immediately changed her sentence "Thank God you are awake."

Rachel looked at her confused "Since when did you have a brother."

Jessica looked nervously at Jamie for help who glared at her before speaking "When do she say she had one."

"She just said brother."

Jamie smiled "It must be a slip of her tongue, now that she is here I want to give you a good news and that is I have decided to adopt Jessica as my daughter as she has no parents."

At this finally a smile appeared on her face and she hugged her best friend "Really so we will be sisters."

Jamie nodded and heaved a sigh of relief at having successfully diverted the topic, Jessica was shocked at this too and said "Really but why Mrs. Cullen."

Jamie smiled at her and said "You have always been like my daughter and I want to make you one now so call me mom."

Jessica felt a feeling of warmth rum into her heart and she said in a low voice "Thank you"

Jamie just smiled and said "Hurry up and come down, everyone is getting impatient."

Jessica nodded and looked at Rachel "Let's go."

Rachel too nodded and got up and as she was about to leave the room her gaze landed on the ring that Robert had given her and she went ahead to pick it up. She looked at it deeply and something flashed in her head while it started to hurt very soon. She lifted her gaze and looked at Jessica who was looking at her nervously but she did not notice that as she asked "Jess, who gave me this, why don't I remember and why does my head hurt when I think about it."

Jessica snatched the ring out of her hand because she knew a little memory would stir up everything and her magic would be rendered useless. She was not as powerful as Rachel was now so her magic was only effective until she didn't think a lot about it so the only way for to keep her distracted from all the thoughts. She then laughed "You don't remember anything because that ring is mine and I left it here earlier so now stop pondering and come with me everyone is waiting."

She paused and lifted her head "Are you sure, I feel like I am not able to remember somethings as if a part of my memory is lost."

Jessica gulped and rushed "Stop thinking about useless things, if something like that happened wouldn't we all know about it now come on, let's go."

Jessica was getting extremely worried as Rachel was just on the verge of breaking through her magic if she thought even a little longer but thankfully she finally agreed and went downstairs with Jessica. As soon as they entered the main hall, the first thing Jessica did was cast a spell on everyone and make them loose all their memories about Robert but that thing went unnoticed by everyone and they only gazed at the beautiful girl coming down the stairs wondering why they didn't have this good look at her earlier.

As everyone looked at her as if they had seen some out worldly creatures, Jessica thought how terrifying her brother's presence was that they could not even look at her like that earlier. She came to stand in front of everyone and said with a smile "I am sorry, you all had to wait."

With just that everyone calmed down and no one showed any anger anymore. How could one be angry at such a beautiful person and with that soft voice anyone could melt into it. Her smile was blinding and with that the cake appeared in front of her and she cut it with a smile on her face still having an empty feeling in her heart as if something was missing.

As people came to greet her with presents those thoughts were pushed out of her mind and she began mingling with the crowd. After the crowd scattered Oliver came to stand in front of her and gave her the gift saying "I wonder why I always feared proposing...."

Before he could finish the sentence he was pulled away by Jessica who smiled at Rachel and said "I just wanna have a word with him."

She dragged him to an empty corner and then lifted her magic off him. He then looked at her and asked "Why did she cut the cake without Robert."

Jessica told him everything and he looked at her surprised "Why are you telling me this?"

She looked at him "Because I need your help."

He snorted "Why do you think I will help you and not take this chance to get closer to her and how can you trust me with your secret."

She laughed and threatened him "First thing that she still loves my brother and she can't regain her memory before he does and second I can still erase memories."
