Robert paused again and looked at Rachel expecting to see hate for him in her eyes but what he saw was his pain being reflected in her eyes, she got up to sit in his lap and place a kiss on his lips showing that he was loved. As she pulled away a painful smile appeared on Robert's face "Are you not scared of me after what I did."

He placed her hands around his neck and said softly again "Realizing that you did wrong and living in guilt for it for so many years is enough punishment for you."

He bumped his forehead with her and a tear fell down his cheek "Why are you so understanding, it makes me feel even more bad."

"Stop blaming yourself for everything and stop living in the past, enjoy your present."

He smiled and nodded creasing her cheek as she spoke again "What did you do after that?"

"We hid ourselves well and only took turns to bring food, this was all we did the whole day. I didn't like the way we lived, it was all chaos and there was no peace. Sometimes I would take deep breaths to calm myself when I felt too desperate to do something stupid. Later I began to realize it was a great way to get rid of my anxiety so I began to do that more often and soon it turned into deep meditation. I was focused on just one thing that it would be great if I could turn into a king of the dinosaurs and stop them from killing and creating all this chaos. My intentions were completely pure and then it happened, the origin of the polymorphs, I was the first one to transform myself to a dinosaur that was when my mother began to do that too but I don't know what her intentions were, she was not able to transform."

Rachel looked at him like an excited child "So you turned into the king of dinosaurs?"

"Yes"

"The science says that the dinosaurs became extinct because of the Ice Age."

He looked at her and felt like taking her right at this moment as she felt like the most beautiful creature but he continued "They did and that was the time I learned to turn into a polar bear to escape the cold. I had the power and I stopped them from creating the chaos but within an year, the Ice Age started, I began to meditate again to escape the cold when I learned to transform into a polar bear."

"What happened to your mother?" She asked a little worried.

Robert gave a bitter smile "She is a very wicked woman, she found a way to escape and is still alive somewhere but I don't know where she is and what she is upto."

Something clicked Rachel's mind and she interjected "Is your mother the woman I saw in the picture at your house?"

He nodded patiently answering all her questions, he spoke "She is indeed, I kept her with me all these years to keep an eye on her so she didn't do anything to destroy the peace of today's world. She married Jessica's father, had her and then abandoned everyone. It was her plan all along because I let my guard down when I thought she was changing into a nice person and she was tired of all the evil. Jessica's father died soon after and I was the one to bring her up, she is my half sister. I have been trying to find my mother for some time now but she is perfect in camouflaging herself that I have failed."

Rachel looked at him now completely engrossed in the story "So how did you turn into an immortal?"

Robert looked at the time and spoke as if he was speaking to a child "Let's talk about the rest of it tomorrow, we need wake up for school early so you should sleep."

She looked at him with pleading eyes and made a face that no one could say no to and said in a very low and irresistible tone "Please, tell me everything or I won't be able to sleep."

He pinched her cheek and spoke with a smile "How can anyone ever say no to this but I want a prize for that." his smile turned cunning.

Rachel was not in a mood to play along she wanted to know how he did everything so she frowned at him and then bent down to bite his neck as hard as she could and said in an angry tone "Now tell me."

He pretended by rubbing his neck and with the other hand pinching her cheek "Aaww, alright I will tell you my little puppy."

She hit him in the chest "I am not a puppy."

He smiled and teased "Yes you are and just mine."

She looked at him impatiently now "Fine now tell me your story."

He took in a deep breath and was about to speak when they heard a knock and Charles voice came "Sweetie we all are going for an ice cream and your aunt is insisting that you come with us."

Her face was filled with impatience and frustration but she said in a calm tone "Alright dad, I will be there just let me change my clothes."

"Alright"

She looked at Robert and said "Promise me you'll tell me everything when we return and not ask me to go to sleep."

He smiled at how curious she was and said "Yes, I promise now go wear something, I won't let you go in that bathrobe."

She blushed and went to change her clothes while Robert looked at the roof and sighed "You are like my drug, if I keep talking you, I will be killed slowly and eventually and if I don't take you, I won't survive for even a day."

He then smiled knowing well that he could not live without her so he wished to be by her side forever."
