After the fight both of them parted ways, Jin headed towards the direction of the Safe Zone Delta, but before he walked towards the last street he once more takes a look back at what direction Vulture went but. Vulture was too fast to catch up on by a simple glance. so he turned back to the direction where the Safe Zone Delta is.
In a dark office of a destroyed building, the Wolf pack have assembled and the only one being waited was none other than Vulture, who walked from the door. Wolf turned around and looked Vulture with a careful glance.
"Why are you late Vulture?" Wolf asked as he looked at Vulture with a doubting face. "I got stopped by some volcanic minion on a rampage. Monsters these days really are getting exotic and it's getting problematic as ever" Vulture covers half of her face as the bandanna is falling off.
Sound of men marching, trucks and Humvee were making driving down the road. Jin looks around and to his excitement. "Safe Zone Delta really has changed, from the old metal barricades to gigantic 30-20 ft wall." He continued to walk until he reached the checkpoint which every human needs to undergo manual checking for certain backgrounds.
And as he gets closer Jin reads the sentence that is drawn at the wall "For Humankind. The Last Stand of the People, Safe Zone Delta." Jin nods as he read that sentence. The Wall has two small towers at its entrance. And on top of the tower, there are 4 canons which are for defense and offense power of the Safe Zone Delta.
"Alright, go in!" the guard shouted at the man that is in front of Jin. After the man that is in front of Jin walked inside a small office room type. The guard blocks Jin and he looked at Jin as he noticed that Jin has a weapon. And then the guardsman said,
"Are you a player or a hunter?" Jin was kinda nervous to reply to what the guardsman have asked because he doesn't know the consequences if he wanted to lie or not. The guardsman looked at Jin directly at his eyes, Jin replied as he gulped "I am a player".
And after Jin said that the person who is behind him, suddenly backed off. And the guardsman slings his rifle upfront gripping it. And the guardsman asked once again, "Are you joining the Player Corps?" Jin nodded as a reply to the guardsman that is in front of him.
The guardsman at the back also notices why the guardsman in front is gripping his weapon. So they asked "Hey G-4 why is your weapon on alert" and the guardsman replied as "I have a player here and he looks like not yet registered in our database".

After the guardsman said that all 4 guards that were behind the guards slings their weapons and get on high alert. And the officer inside the small house said "let the player in" and so the guardsman said to Jin "I want you to go in that small house." Jin raised his hands so that the guardsman won't try to raise their guns on him. The door opened and Jin entered.
As he entered he looked to the right and left and he saw that the small house is really rather much small. He looked to the left and he saw that there is a glass and on the other side, there is a military officer in a camouflage green uniform.
Jin stand in the middle of the platform after that he faced the officer, the officer asked Jin "Where did you come from?" the rough low voice of the officer made Jin a bit scared. But Jin still replied politely to the officer "I came from middle residence and I studied at Akushu Technological Academy before."
The officer nodded as he wrote down the information after that the officer ordered Jin to look at the camera. And on the other side, the officer is doing a facial recognition check if some of the rebel cells that have known face match with Jin's face. But it came with no result so Jin is cleared with the accusation that he might be a rebel cell, the officer looked at Jin and said "Are you joining the Player Corp?" the officer's voice change as if he wants Jin to join the Defense Forces.
Jin replied and said, "I do I have a referral from one of my old buddies that I should enter the Player Corp for the Defense Force." And the officer nodded. Jin looked straight at the officer as if he wants to prove to the officer that everything he said is true and not a lie. "Right last thing is your parent buried in Safe Zone Delta?" And Jin answered,
"Yes, It's my mother that is buried in Safe Zone Delta." After that, the door from the other side opened and the officer said "You are free to enter here is your primary identification if you got halted by any military force show this identification if you are halted by in blue uniform called civilian police you show this blue identification.
Jin nodded as he grabbed the two identification that the office slide through an opening from the other side of the mirror. After that Jin walked to the other door and as he walked straight a light dazzled Jin before surprising him with a close view of the wall. It is really gigantic. He also saw multiple cameras and gun towers that are securing the main road directing the entrance to the Safe Zone Delta. Jin soon followed the line of people that is about to enter the Safe Zone Delta.

Jin entered the bus that being filled with people, and Jin sat on the further side of the bus. He looked at the window and he remembers that time when he was with his mother traveling to their old house. "Everything has changed but I still need to find someone, My dad, my grandparents."
"Alright all aboard I am closing the bus" the bus driver shouted as he stepson the gas and the bus drives on inside the huge gate that is being opened. After crossing the wall Jin saw the change inside the Safe Zone Delta. Outside of the safe zone, it was all ruins inside the Safe Zone he felt like he was back in the normal society.
The buildings were the same as before but in a high-tech advancement. There are schools and even kinds playing safely, and Jin saw an advertisement about the Nation Defense Against Monsters (N.D.A.M) "So that is the new name for the Defense Force huh," As he looked closely at the faces at the advertisement one of them were really familiar he just forgot the name. "So she is really famous here what an amazing woman she is"
Jin gets off at the entrance of the National Defense Officer for recruitment. Jin carrying his XDR-rifle entered the office. The Office is quite decent and there are a lot of people who are also interested in joining. And because of that, he needs to wait for a few minutes before being entertained by the recruiter and he can now pass the required papers for him to enter the Delta Training Facility.
"Is there a person named Ru Jin in here?" the officer with a middle-aged appearance called out Jin name. And Jin quickly stood up and raised his hand. "Right, Please come inside." And Jin walked towards the office and as he entered he closed the door and stood in front of the officer in charge. "Please take a seat."
And Jin replied "Thank you, Sir" after Jin sat down the officer looks at his computer and said "There is a referral for you inside the Facility and he is one of the group squad leaders. How did you get that kind of referral"
"Well if that person you are pointing out is a person named Tan Shan then he is my old classmate from my old Academy," Jin said as he looked at the officer that is looking at him as if he tried to enter the Facility to get into one of the named squads. The officer nodded as he looked at Jin, "Well then that is all I want to ask and so, let me ask if you have two identification?" and then Jin handed over the two identifications that were given to him earlier.
The officer grabbed the identifications and inputted it at his computer after that Jin was handed a piece of paper to be assigned it was a letter of consent that Jin is entering the Facility with all the knowledge regarding its utmost mission and vision. Jin signed the paper and then the officer handed him a paper and 12k credits as money that is provided by the National Defense.
"So everything in that paper is needed to be bought before entering the Facility. Good luck Jin" the officer smiled and Jin smiled back and exited the office. After that, he headed out and bought all of the things in the paper. The things he has bought are the basic essentials such as hygiene equipment.
Jin walked to the dorm that he was designated, as he arrived at the location that dorm looked pretty nice. It was well cleaned and well furnished. "So this is Building A-3 a dorm for people who are about to enter the Facility." Jin entered and as he enters he saw a couple of people playing some sport.
They looked at Jin, but after that they ignored him. They also saw a suitcase behind Jin, so they were also curious if Jin is a swordsman or some kind of magician. Most people when they become a player they have the right to choose which specialty they are going to prefer and most people tend not to pick the marksman due to its low capabilities in the field. An Archer is better than a gunner.
Jin walked up to the stairs and arrived at the room that was assigned to him he entered the room and fixes all the things he needed. He needs to stay inside of the room for 2-3 days before a bus arrives and pick them all up and transport them to the facility.

Dear Spellbook (Link to rewrite in blurb)
A rewrite of this story has been posted here: https://www.royalroad.com/fiction/49881/dear-spellbook-a-fantasy-time-loop-rewrite Live. Study. Repeat. Tal is a sorcerer in a world where they are killed on sight, traveling with a man charged with carrying out the task. Every night Tal must pretend to study his spellbook to maintain his disguise as a Wizard’s Apprentice. If his disguise slips and his charade is uncovered, it will be his death. Seeking answers to mysteries that arose after his parent’s murder, Tal must accept any allies, no matter the risks, to uncover his family’s secret. But when he wakes up one morning to find himself trapped repeating the same day, he has to overcome his challenges all on his own. This story is an adaptation of a D&D campaign I ran but never was able to complete. I tried to capture the feel of a table-top RPG session —tropes and humor— without relying on the mechanics. This is not a litRPG or gamelit story and no D&D mechanics or system appear in the game. It follows one member of an adventuring party as he deals with the problems with that arise from being an adventurer. Namely, getting roped into adventures. The story has a time loop element, but will eventually move past that. This story explores the magic systems, the history, and the lore of the world through the lens of Tal's entries in his Spellbook and interludes from other written works in the world. New entries on Mondays Credit to JackOfHearts for the cover.

AN: This is the first time I'm writing a story like this. If you don't mind my poor grammar, weird name choices, and sloppy mistakes feel free to stick around (and correct me please.) Constructive critism is welcome! However please do not just bash my story as I do put a lot of effort into it. I want to make an enjoyable story for myself as well as all of you. Ps: It's time to come back and rewrite the entire thing, since it kind of went off the rails and then I abandonded it a couple years ago. Thanks to my friend for drawing the cover art for me.

8 97The Shadow That Preludes Death (The Favoured)
Magic and fantastical beasts run wild on the countless worlds of the Fabric. Deities take an active interest in the Fabric. The Favoured, immortal mages of immense power vie for territory and power in the Fabric. Umbra a naive ward of the Duke is almost Grown and that means she will need to take an apprenticeship. The issue is she isn't good at anything, but she catches the eye of a master of magic, he thinks she might be one of the fabled Protectors the ones that would save them from the coming destruction. But Umbra isn't the hero everyone wants her to be. Updates will at least one chapter every two days. Notable Location Poliagoras. Poliagoras is the most important world in the Fabric partly due to it being the centre of everything both literally and metaphorically. Trade, commerce, travel, and politics are all conducted primarily on Poliagoras, it has the biggest city in the fabric stretching to cover almost the entire world. It also holds all the known Great portals in the Fabric which are the only way to travel to other worlds. Even without these things, Poliagoras would still be the most important world in the Fabric as it is home to the largest population of Favoured. They were mages chosen by the Deities and given the potential to become more than mortal. I cannot overstate how appreciated constructive criticism is. This is the first story I have written of my own volition so even a small comment on how I could improve would be great. The current title is most definitely a working one. I know it isn't great.
8 194Pathogen: Chrysalis of Monsters
