"Say what now?" Luo Zu gulped.

"That's our group leader right there. If he agrees, you all can come with us." Lu Chen repeated his words and smiled. 

Standing next to him, Qin Hua also grinned, revealing all her canines, giving her a wild, crazed look. 

"Ah, ok. Whatever, whatever,  I don't know. You can come with us." Not knowing what was going on, Luo Zu quickly gave up and blabbered something in response. 

He had a feeling that in case he said something or refused to accept these people, Lu Chen might just throw him out as well. 

And he definitely did not want that to happen.

So in another five minutes, the two trucks started up once again, driving down the street. 

This time the first truck contained the same five people while the second truck contained all the new folks, all crowded and sitting together, squished against each other.

Luo Zu wanted to cry and complain, but unfortunately, he couldn't do that as he was the one who had accepted everything in the first place. 

As if this was not enough, the two middle-aged men who looked like fathers of the two families constantly nagged him and tried to butter him up. 

At first, it was irritating, but as time went by, he found it quite pleasing. 

Not to mention there were also a couple of women who brushed up against him trying to curry favors. The others in the truck who knew better could only roll their eyes at these shenanigans.

They couldn't understand why everyone was trying to suck up to this guy. 

Meanwhile, in the first truck, Guan Ye was seriously discussing with Lu Chen. "Are we heading into the city, or are we finding more of these black gates in the streets?"

"No, I think we should just go to the main city for now. We also have these people with us. Let's see if we can get to some sort of a shelter first." Lu Chen replied.

While the two of them were talking, they came across a hospital on the way. There was even a police station opposite the hospital. 

Lu Chen looked outside and then raised his hand to signal Guan Ye. "Let's stop here."

Police stations typically had some firearms and though during these unstable times that stash might have already been cleared out, it was still worth a check. 

Alex, Xu Meilin, and Guan Ye got out of the truck to check out the hospital on the other side while Qin Hua casually sauntered behind Lu Chen into the police station.

They had barely taken 2 steps in when suddenly a figure dashed past them. Lu Chen immediately swirled the mana at the tips of his fingers ready to materialize it. 

After having used ice magic so many times already, he was now somewhat comfortable with the overall control. But he still lacked a deeper understanding of what he was doing and that made it painfully difficult for him. 

Qin Hua also perked up and had already jumped into a nearby shadow. 

The weird part was the figure that they had sensed was so fast that even she couldn't detect his presence until it was too late. She couldn't sense his presence at all, even with her enhanced senses. 

Such a high speed! High agility!

Something told her that this was going to be troublesome. 

Before they could decide what to do now, there were rustling sounds inside the police station with someone clearly messing around and moving the things in there. 

This was not a zombie for sure because if this was the zombie, then they would have been the primary targets. 

Only if it was a human being, they wouldn't be the primary target, and rather the guns inside the station would be. 

Qin Hua leaped into a shadow to go inside and check things out. 

But by then, the other party had already run out after emptying the contents of the room and cleaning out whatever rifle, pistol, and ammo that had been left over. He was zooming here and there incredibly fast. 

Thankfully, Lu Chen as well reacted fast and covered the entire floor with a thin layer of ice. 

The person who had zoomed out slipped on the ice and Lu Chen immediately froze his legs, which drained the last bit of his mana completely. 

However, it was worth it as now they had caught the intruder. Both Lu Chen and Qin Hua panted as they caught up to the guy. 

"You're so fast!" Lu Chen exclaimed and Qin Hua followed his remark with a bark that basically implied the same thing. 

The two confronted him but they did not act violently towards him as he had not attacked them first. Instead, he had gone in to take the firearms without harming them in the process. 

So they treated him with an equal courtesy giving him the benefit of the doubt. 

"Brother, do you mind sharing some with us? We have a large group." Lu Chen asked. 

The tall and lean young man who had fallen on the ground, the ice now almost melting off, smiled bitterly. 

"We also have a very big group. We desperately need these." 

As he was about to reply and bargain, Lu Chen suddenly remembered. "Oh did you guys go to the hospital opposite the street as well?"

"Huh? Yes? Why?" The man answered.

"Shit! Shit! Let's go, I don't want us to fight with each other unnecessarily." 

Qin Hua barked and then she immediately ran over to the hospital to take a look. 

Both Alex and Xu Meilin were completely surrounded by a bunch of able-bodied men. They seemed like a motley group but from the looks of it, they were not exactly new to combat. 

The two women looked very frightened and stiff but as soon as they saw Qin Hua they became a bit more confident and even subconsciously sighed in relief. 

But the same couldn't be said for the others.

The people who had surrounded them did not know that Qin Hua was not crazy. All they saw was a beast and started attacking her immediately.
