"Do you know when they are returning?"

"Not sure. Boss took the new guys out to scout the neighboring areas. Maybe check out some grocery stores."

Two bulky men walked along the corridor of the second floor of the apartment complex.

"Hey. Wait a second. Do you think that it's unusually quiet here?" One of them stopped and looked around.

About 5 to 6 men were supposed to patrol each floor at all times but currently, the entire place seemed to be deserted.

"Hmm… do you think someone is slacking?" The same guy asked again, but weirdly, his partner also seemed to be missing and was not responding.

"Where did you go now?" The bulky man turned around, only to shriek loudly the next instant. In front of him was his patrolling partner, enveloped by some sort of black mist?

He absolutely had no idea what it was, but he was in no hurry to rescue the other party. Rather he was concerned for his own safety and slowly backed away, sweat oozing from his forehead.

With everything that was going on, he didn't want to touch something weird and get infected.

He turned around to run away, perhaps call for some help when suddenly he once again shrieked, this time louder and more panic-stricken as if he had seen a ghost.

Standing in front of him was the biggest fucking dog he had ever seen in his life!!!

Its fur was as dark as the night itself and its eyes were glowing, one blue and one green. The gigantic beast was panting with its mouth wide open.

While the bulky man was staring at her in a mixture of shock, fear, and confusion, Qin Hua snapped her mouth at him as she dashed forward and pounced on top of him, completely toppling the muscular figure.

She then sunk her canines into his throat without any warning and tore the thick sturdy flesh off, blood gurgling out of his throat.

She didn't stop there and kept mauling the big guy again and again repeatedly. Since their levels were comparable she didn't want to take any chances.

He tried to fight back and punch her with whatever force he could muster, but the light in his eyes faded even before either of his fists could reach her furry body.

Qin Hua kicked the dead body aside, licking her lips. She had expected more points but perhaps since their levels were similar the experience gained had also lessened.

Not thinking about it too much, she then dashed towards the second figure who was slowly becoming more and more visible, the black mist around the man in the process of clearing up. Her new skill Dark Shackles was effective only for a few seconds.

With blood still dripping from her mouth, Qin Hua dashed towards him and directly aimed for the opponent's throat again.

This was the attack tactic that had worked best for her so far, but unfortunately, this time around, the beefy man was quick to respond and moved aside, at least his upper body, to dodge her attack.

This didn't deter Qin Hua too much as she still had the absolute advantage when it came to size. She was almost as tall as the man but considering her total size and width, she was twice as big as him.

The impact alone was enough to overpower him and Qin Hua rabidly started biting everything she could reach. She didn't even care where she was biting.

The lackey screamed in pain. His thick muscles and his enhanced body seemed to be useless in front of the big black dog. He only saw teeth everywhere and couldn't match the beast's agile movements.

Though the fight was a bit messier this time around, it soon ended and Qin Hua promptly heard another system notification.

[Woof! Woof! 4 down. 16 more to go.] Qin Hua licked her lips and once again plunged into the shadows nearby to hide her presence.

Thankfully, she still had some roasted beast meat left, so she chomped on it to recover her stamina while simultaneously stalking her next prey who was currently smoking a cigarette on the first floor.

She knew that she didn't have too much time left and she wanted to take care of as many of these lackeys as she possibly could before the supposed big boss arrived.

It was also only a matter of time before these people sniffed her out so she quickly tackled the next target, this time swiping at the man with her paws.

As he tumbled down from the utter shock of being attacked by a dog out of nowhere, she went in for his throat, biting and tearing it off.

Just like that, another kill was smoothly executed which made Qin Hua very content. [Woof! It was indeed the right decision to put the remaining stat points into strength.]

As she quickly kicked the dead body into a corner and searched for her next target, she heard some commotion coming from the kitchen.

Qin Hua leaped back into the shadows and ran towards the kitchen area where she had previously seen the group of women working like robots.
