Leaving behind her shadow clone to guard Su Yan, Qin Hua quietly slipped into the darkness and jumped down several floors to quickly reach the ground floor.

Unlike Lu Chen, she didn't have to squat around the perimeter and enter the base covertly, she directly used the elevator shaft and the darkness within it to reach the ground floor in just a few seconds.

But once she reached the base, the real problem began as Qin Hua had never expected to find such a ridiculous scenario. Strolling in front of her with stacked muscles and armed guns were four big and thick men.

Not just that, but the entirety of the first three floors including the ground floor, first floor, and second floor had been secured and sealed perfectly, more men roaming around, patrolling with guns.

More importantly, each and every one of them was distinctly physically enhanced!!!

This told Qin Hua two things. Either someone had the ability to physically enhance human beings or they had been hunting zombies and other monsters non-stop.

Either way, the opponents in front of her were not someone she could beat easily at her current level, at least not all of them together at the same time, but if she could somehow isolate them…

[Inspect] She muttered inwardly, trying to pull out information about the enemy.

[Hmm… So even if I get them alone, it might still be a bit of a struggle. Alright, let me scout a bit first.]

Qin Hua ran around using her Inspect skill on everyone. The good news was that there were about 20 guards in total combined on all three floors.

The bad news was that almost all of them were at a higher level than her and about half of them had awakened unique abilities, though she was unable to find out what specific abilities each one had.

On top of this, her small hope of this group being a sensible and rational one was also smashed into smithereens.

Though the two muscle heads they had come across were rude and brash and lacking any kindness, Qin Hua had hoped that the rest of them might be different, possibly even friendly.

But the more she looked at their base set-up, it was clear that she and they were never going to get along.

This was because apart from the patrolling and resting men, Qin Hua had also come across some women in the three floors, about 6 women in total.

However, every single one of them looked lifeless and battered and they were cooking and processing some sort of meat in the kitchen in a dull monotone.

The vigor and strength that shone in the faces of the men patrolling outside were completely absent in these women and they looked like they had undergone something horrible and soul-crushing.

In fact, they looked like mindless hopeless slaves!

Qin Hua shuddered to think what might have happened to them, but it was in the past and even she was helpless to undo something that was already done.

Up until now she didn't really care about the survival of others and simply concerned herself with her own survival and her new family's survival, but even she couldn't ignore something like this.

Most importantly, she shuddered at the thought of the future. In just a single day, things had devolved to such an extent??? Just who the hell was behind this coordination domination?? How could they achieve something so fast?

[Scum like this should be killed.] Qin Hua silently growled.

These were the type of people that she hated the most. People who took advantage and exploited others who were weak and helpless. It was one thing to not help them but it was an entirely different thing to exploit them.

[Wait, but where are Alex and Xu Meilin?] She couldn't find them here and wondered if they had been taken somewhere else.

The big black husky's eyes turned cold and sinister as she thought about the fate which awaited the two women who had accompanied her all this time. They might be leeches but they didn't deserve this fate.

[So cruel. So cruel. That's it. I am going to destroy these bastards from top to bottom. I am going to rip them apart piece by piece.]

Qin Hua snapped her mouth and then ran around ducking and hiding in the shadows for a few more minutes completely surveilling the entire place in order to avoid any unnecessary surprises.

She checked all the nooks and corners and the total number of meatheads was still a big fat 20. However, the second time, she crossed the women in the communal kitchen, she noticed something different.

The meat the women were cooking didn't look like the regular chicken meat. She then noticed the familiar fur in the trash can and the hair on her back instantly spiked up.

[Rat meat? They are eating the mutated rat meat???]

Qin Hua's eyes went wide as she saw the mutated rat meat being cooked and grilled and being served in platters as if they were prepared for lunch. The aroma which wafted from the meat was also making her mouth exceedingly water.

[Could mutated beast meat be actually eaten???]

The big black husky looked around in a daze as she realized that she had overlooked the most obvious way to become stronger!!!
