Qin Hua snapped into action as soon as she heard the man mention mana core. That was their only hope now. Everything in her brain suddenly clicked and she knew what she had to do.

She opened her status screen and madly flipped through the notifications. She swiped away all the level up notifications without giving them a second look.

She only stopped to look at the skill points and stat points gained. She had leveled up four times and she had received 8 skill points, 2 for crossing each level.

Combined with the 3 skill points she already had, she now had enough to purchase the [Space vault] skill.

Qin Hua did not hesitate and quickly purchased the skill.

She then leaped into the shadows and before any of the other human beings could make a move, she silently slipped into the shadow closest to the little girl's head and chucked her head into her space vault, along with the core in it.

She then once again slipped into the shadows quietly.

Now she was more than sure that the two men could not perceive her presence. It looked like they had only enhanced their physical attributes giving them the strength they required.

As she hid into one of the shadows near the elevator, she heard the man's gruff voice clearly.

"You two. Get into the elevator." Bai shouted, pushing Lu Chen in. Since he was only barely standing up, he stumbled from the push, both Su Yan and him falling down face first.

"Heh. Now make sure to hold the elevator and wait for us."

Lu Chen did not move which made the big guy angry. He raised his leg up and stamped Lu Chen's toes on the leg that was not injured until cracking sounds were heard.

Arghh! Lu Chen shouted in pain twisting and turning. The man was using his full strength to torture him and he did it for no reason.

Bai chuckled and leaned forward to pull his injured leg and placed it in the front of the elevator.

The doors which were about to close now jammed on his injured leg and went back, his leg acting like a wedge that prevented the elevator doors from closing.

Every time the doors hit the leg, the bandage on his wound dripped, more blood coming out.

Lu Chen winced in pain and agony, even though he tried his best to not show weakness in front of these guys.

The two of them looked down, sneering at him, and then walked away to see if the zombies still had the mana cores within them.

"Do you think its already gone, Ling? Boss will be upset!" Bai muttered as he kicked one of the corpses.

The two of them then started to busily dig through the two dead bodies searching for the mana cores.

Meanwhile, Qin Hua slipped into the elevator, behind Lu Chen, only sticking her head out from the shadows.

She quietly took out the severed little girl's head from her inventory and touched Lu Chen with the side that the mana orb was protruding.

Lu Chen was in too much of a daze to notice anything. He hadn't even sensed Qin Hua's presence. He only noticed something different as he felt a surge of energy sweeping past his body.

The energy wave this time was much stronger than anything he had experienced before.

Ba-Thump! Ba-Thump! Ba- Thump!

His heart pounded loudly and his body pulsed with a vague strength. The next second an intense pain shot through his spine, spreading across his body.

Ahhh! Lu Chen yelled, crying out in pain, which made the two men rummaging outside smile with satisfaction. They, however, did not realize what was actually happening in the elevator.

Lu Chen's entire body was now covered with a thin layer of ice as if he was enclosed in a cocoon and slowly this ice cocoon broke, shattering into a million pieces and melting into water, that drenched him completely.

This water was in fact freezing cold, but Lu Chen did not feel the chill. It felt rather comfortable for him. The tired and agonized look on his face as well disappeared, his eyes now sharp, cold and cruel.

As the elevator door continued jamming on his leg which was no longer injured, but still protruded in the front, Lu Chen silently closed his eyes and looked down, hiding everything that had happened.

Qin Hua who watched the whole thing from near him finally sighed in relief.

Both Lu Chen and Su Yan were no longer critically injured. Of course, not to mention, her own strength… She as well grinned and silently laid in wait inside the elevator.

"Hey where is this one's head?"

"Hmm?"

The two men squatted on the corridor searched for a while but they couldn't find anything.

"Damn it! These useless bitches probably consumed them already. What a waste!"

"Hmmm… I think you are right." Ling nodded, agreeing with Bai.

The two of them then turned around to walk back to the elevator. Bai kicked Lu Chen's leg aside as he angrily stormed in.

"Useless! You should have just stayed quietly in your apartment. This God would have rescued you, but you had to steal my treasures, didn't you?"

"Little bitch! Wait till the boss gives me the green light. I will show you what will happen if you take what is mine."

Lu Chen did not respond to any of his taunts and silently stared at the elevator floor, while Ling pushed the button for the ground floor.
