Su Yan rushed to Lu Chen's room to see what was going on. His friend had screamed so loud as if a madman with a hatchet was standing near his bed.

Knowing his friend's dramatic flair, there probably was a cockroach or an insect in his room.

But as soon as he barged inside the room, Su Yan was aghast from what he saw. Almost the entire room was covered with spikes of white ice crystals.

The dazzling spikes which were reflecting the sunlight trickling from the window seemed to be originating from the bed.

"LU CHEN! WHAT HAPPENED! ARE YOU OKAY?" Su Yan shouted as he fell back on the floor with horror.

"Bro, I am alright. You won't believe what just happened." Lu Chen's high-pitched voice reverberated in the cold freezing room.

"Aah... Ya... I am seeing it right now."

"I reached for my phone just now and these things started coming out of my hand." Lu Chen mumbled as he walked out of the ice forest in his room.

He even held an icicle in his hand and was licking so casually like it was a popsicle. "Yuck! so bland!"

"Are you seriously concerned about that right now?"

Su Yan didn't know whether to laugh or cry. His best friend and roommate had overnight developed some strange powers.

While these two stared at each other in confusion, little white was standing nearby and wagging her tail excitedly.

Qin Hua felt that the fog in her mind about the recent bizarre occurrences was slowly clearing up.

Though she might not yet understand fully what was happening, two things were crystal clear.

She had a special ability and both her masters, Su Yan and Lu Chen, also seem to have developed special abilities.

That definitely explained the weird beast-like creature she saw on Su Yan's bed last night.

Things were starting to unfold and make sense for Qin Hua.

But there was still one big question looming on her mind. Was it just this freaky apartment, or literally everyone on the planet got a special ability??

The excited sound of the two guys squabbling next to her brought her attention back to them.

"Shall I try it again? I have a feeling that I can freeze things now."

"Wait, wait, wait!" Su Yan immediately panicked and grabbed little white, holding it safely in his arms.

"Tsk, tsk. Have some faith in me bro." Lu Chen raised his hand and pointed it at the small side table.

He scrunched his face hard as if he was taking a shit and even tried jiggling his arms around, but nothing happened.

"Hey, why is nothing happening?" Lu Chen looked at Su Yan with an anxious expression.

Su Yan's eyes were however glued to his phone that was blowing like crazy. He had just woken up and there were more than 20,000 notifications.

After scrolling through a few of them, Su Yan was perplexed and ran to the living room. He switched on the television to tune into the news.

"What the hell is happening to this world!" he muttered.

Both Lu Chen and little white followed him and were looking at the television screen as well.

"So Mr. E, is it true that you have wings now?" The female newscaster asked the man sitting next to her with clear astonishment in her tone.

The male newscaster nodded with a smug smile and even stood up from his chair to demonstrate.

A pair of clear snow-white wings suddenly appeared on his back. They stretched over 10 ft on each side.

After twirling around a couple of times, the male newscaster finally sat down. "I have already registered my abnormality at the local health care center and so should all of you."

"If something strange has recently happened to you or your loved ones, please report the incident and register yourself at the nearest health care center."

"Please do not panic. Several people around the world are developing strange new abilities."

"We still do not understand the cause or reason for these sudden changes but the government is tirelessly is working on it."

"And so far this new event has not affected anyone's health and safety."

"But we are concerned about certain dangerous abnormalities and hence urge the citizens to register their abilities at the health center."

"So Mr. E, have you actually tried flying in the sky with your wings?" The female newscaster couldn't help but drool over her co-worker's good luck.

She herself did not sense or materialize any new abilities.

Though not everyone did, a little more than a quarter of the country's population had already registered these weird occurrences at the health center and more people were trickling in every second.
