The next day was very bustling.

Lin Xiao came with Princess Lan Yi Hua and Long Hao to the venue. There were several people who were looking in their direction since it was rare for Long Family members to bring outsiders. Not to mention, Lin Xiao and Princess Lan Yi Hua were both people from small kingdoms that was hard to even see on the map.

But the three of them didn't seem to care in the slightest bit.

"Young Master Hao, you need to prepare for the examination." Even Elder Yi felt a bit helpless when he was looking at Long Hao. He had been trying to advise the young master to stop associating with people from low origin, but Long Hao didn't listen.

If not because Long Hao had high standing in the family, it was clear that Elder Yi would have long kicked both Lin Xiao and Princess Lan Yi Hua out.

Long Hao nodded and waved his hand. "I'll be back soon."

"Do your best."

"Mhm."

Lin Xiao looked at Long Hao as the brat jumped around happily and felt his face turned strange. For some reasons, he felt that when he was younger, he was not any better than that brat….

If Princess Lan Yi Hua knew what he was thinking, she would agree wholeheartedly. After all, Lin Xiao was really such a troublemaker.

Not that he changed now, though.

There were many youths in Long Family who was fighting for the head position. Long Hao was calm as he walked to the arena and looked at the others. There were many who were much older than him but some of them were also younger. After all, there was no definite age and they were qualified as long as they were of the younger generation.

One of them looked at Long Hao and snorted. "And here I thought why I haven't seen you lately. It turns out the peerless genius is now holed up to entertain two guests from lower kingdom."

Long Hao narrowed his eyes. "It's better to be holed up and learning rather than running around flaunting your dirty linen, Long Shui."

Hearing Long Hao's words, Long Shui nearly spat out blood. He glared at Long Hao. "Just watch, you might be good at the ancient words but someone like you will never be able to get the position."

"You will never know who have better attainment before the real result." Long Hao snorted and ignored his cousin. His eyes were placed on the pillar in the middle of the arena. 

Long Family was unlike any other family in Wang Wu Kingdom. They were focused solely on Ancient Words in order to gain the wisdom from it. Thanks to their lineage, they didn't have to worry so much about their cultivation but their attainment in the Ancient Words all depend on their comprehension.

The words written in the pillar looked majestic and powerful.

An elder watched the youth and waved his hand. "All of you will work together to understand the words behind this pillar. The more power you can produce from all of them, the better! You can start now."

With that, everyone was silent.

They were all looking at the pillar before them as they were reading and trying to comprehend it.

Ancient Power could be used through the Ancient Words no matter who it was as long as they read it properly but those who could understand it would be able to unleash the real power that was hidden beneath the words.

Not everyone could do it.

Even those from Long Family could barely understand very few and it was all based on their limited understanding.

Princess Lan Yi Hua looked at Lin Xiao. "How do you think Little Hao will fare?"

"He should be alright." Lin Xiao had read the words in the pillars and naturally understood its meaning almost immediately. As a cultivator, it was easy for them to read thousands of letters in just a second. 

He knew that Long Hao would still need some time to decipher them but most of the words there were included in the words he had taught Long Hao before. That brat should be able to do well.

"That's good." Princess Lan Yi Hua smiled.

Lin Xiao arched his eyebrows. "Does my wife like that brat?"

"What are you talking about? I'm happy that you're such a good teacher." Princess Lan Yi Hua pursed her lips.

"Don't worry, I'm not that bad, right?" Lin Xiao didn't know whether to laugh or cry. Even though he had to admit that in some areas his knowledge was still lacking compared to his wife, he had grown better.

He turned his head to the side and looked at the large pond not far from the arena. It was the healing pond that Long Family set up. After all, if they were not careful enough, the Ancient Power could also harm them.

At that moment, a youth suddenly screamed.

The elder moved swiftly to carry the youth and then moved to the pond. He put the youth on the pond then shook his head. "He failed."

"Yes." The youth's parents quickly took the boy with disheartened expression.

Lin Xiao watched and thought about Long Hao's parents. Long Hao had never told him who his parents were and Lin Xiao also never asked it. After all, Long Hao lived by himself all this time.

Many other youths also screamed and they were taken away swiftly. 

Looking at them, Lin Xiao shook his head. He could see that they were all attacked by the ancient words because they didn't use it properly. Using Ancient Power had its limit too and they couldn't go above the limit or they would be experiencing backlash.

Boom!

At this moment, Long Shui's body lit up as the Ancient Power emerged from his body. He grinned and looked at Long Hao, who was still immersed before laughing loudly. The sight of the Ancient Power around him signified that he had fully utilized the entire words.
