《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 463: Gather in Shui Yan City (2)

"It's really big." Lin Xiao was quite curious as he looked around. This was not the first time he entered a city in the 20 Years Ancient Battlefield, but he had to admit that Shui Yan City was truly the biggest city.
"This is the place for all genius to gather when the time is up." Ye Jian passed a look at Lin Xiao. "With your current rank, you wouldn't be able to earn good ranking."
"It doesn't matter."
Lin Xiao waved his hand. He came here because he wanted to learn some things and also obtain more resources for Xiao Hu Kingdom. In the past, he didn't know that there were already many other geniuses who disappeared were actually coming here to fight for the kingdom.
But now that he knew, he would at least make sure that he got decent ranking.
"Don't you want more resources?"
"I do." Lin Xiao's eyes narrowed. "But being too high profile will kill me first."
Ye Jian didn't say anything.
The youth before him was already 25 years of age and even though there were still traces of his mischievousness, he was no longer as brash as before. Even when he dealt with the last three princes, Lin Xiao had shown traces of maturity and after nearly three years in this brutal place, he was even more careful.
Being alone helped him to understand more of the dangers around him. By utilizing his ability to the fullest, he managed to survive.
"Come on, we need to sign up."
"Sign up?" Lin Xiao was stunned.
Following Ye Jian, they arrived in the middle where there was a large building in cylinder erected. There were several people who were walking inside and walked out again after a few minutes. It was clear that the building was the location for their registration.

He walked inside and saw that there were several elders sitting behind a long table. The younger people were all very respectful as they infused their power and the elder would give them a token that represented their power.
"There are three types of token." Ye Jian glanced at Lin Xiao. "Gold for those at Nascent Soul Stage, Silver for Golden Core Stage 7 to 9, and Bronze for those at Golden Core Stage 4 to 6."
Lin Xiao nodded and walked forward. He understood that the requirement in order to be able to participate in this 20 Years Ancient Battlefield was for them to reach Golden Core Stage 4. If they couldn't even reach that rank… what right would they have to continue fighting in this place?
They might as well go home because it was not their place to stay here.
"Name, kingdom."
Lin Xiao, Xiao Hu Kingdom.
Lin Xiao wrote down the name and kingdoms before he got the token. Infusing his power inside, he noticed that the originally black token changed color to that of silver.
The elder nodded and waved his hand, signaling for Lin Xiao to leave.
Cupping his hand, Lin Xiao left the place with Ye Jian. He could see that Ye Jian was holding a golden colored token. There was only their name written on top of the token and there was nothing else.
"After the battle start later, you'll know the use of the token." Ye Jian didn't want to become a babysitter. "I'll leave now, you can roam around the city and do whatever you want. Your friends should come here soon."
"Yes."
Lin Xiao didn't plan to stick with Ye Jian too long either. What if those people who chased after Ye Jian then changed their target? He wouldn't know where to cry if that happened.

Thankfully, the next few days was peaceful and Lin Xiao managed to meet with the others. To be exact, he met with his twin brother first.
"San... you look energetic." Lin Xiao's lips twitched when he saw Prince Lin San. Unlike him who still wear his headband, Prince Lin San didn't really care about his face being known by anyone. Right now, he was grinning like a fool.
Prince Lin San turned to look at Lin Xiao and showed his token. "Look, Xiao. I managed to advance through several stages."
He was only Golden Core Stage 4 when he first came here. But his token was silver, which meant that he had advanced several stages after separating from Lin Xiao. After all, he was merely Golden Core Stage 6 after their separation in that chamber.
Lin Xiao swept a glance at Prince Lin San and noticed that Prince Lin San was now at Golden Core Stage 8.
"You're not bad." Surviving the tribulation to advance to Golden Core Stage 7 required meticulous preparation.
"Heh." Prince Lin San smiled. "How about you?"
Lin Xiao merely showed his silver token and Prince Lin San then scrutinized Lin Xiao heavily. Upon noticing that he couldn't detect Lin Xiao's cultivation, Prince Lin San cursed out loudly.
This brat had to be at Golden Core Stage 9.
"How in the world are you that fast?"
"Are you really one to ask?"
The two of them fool around for some time. Not long afterwards, Prince Fu Liang also came. Just like Lin Xiao, he was already at Golden Core Stage 9. As for how he managed to advance, no one asked.
They also didn't have the heart to ask.
Prince Lin Yan was the fourth to arrive in Shui Yan City. He looked at the others and nodded his head faintly. The oppressive aura around him told Lin Xiao that his first brother… was already at Nascent Soul Stage.
"First Brother, do you have any tips about how to advance to Nascent Soul Stage?" Lin Xiao asked seriously when he noticed that Prince Lin Yan was at Nascent Soul Stage 1.
Prince Lin Yan passed a look at Lin Xiao. "Prepare for your tribulation."
"…That's all?"
"You need martial heart."
The others: "…"
They really didn't want to talk to him. Even Prince Fu Liang felt like beating Prince Lin Yan up this time.

Tainted Reflections (A Litrpg Portal Apocalypse)
Thirty-five years ago, the world ended. A small subsection of humanity was sent to a brand new world with a game-like system that 'ensured' our survival, and the rest simply disappeared. I fought my way to the upper echelon of levels, made and lost friends over the years, and it finally felt like humanity had carved itself a small foothold in this Godforsaken place. Until one final person died. Until the system reset, and took everything I'd worked so damn hard for with it. I found myself staring at a face I barely recognized as my own, and the Earth began to end once again. Updates every day Monday thru Friday.

Outlook: The Stars (Consciousness Unbound Book 1)
The year is 2152. Rune Yahui is a nineteen-year-old failure, not having gained entrance to college or the military, with no significant prospects in life. Even worse, Rune is the poorest of the poor, hailing from the mega-slums of New Southern Chicago, the lowest pit of America. In a desperate last-ditch attempt to gain a future more lustrous than toiling the rest of his days away in abhorrent conditions in one of the near sweat-shop level factories that dot the megapolis, Rune signs up for the Virtual Citizen program, a program to cull the excessive world population by transferring just their brains into a video game. In a stroke of rare luck, Rune is admitted into the program and happily submits himself to the surgery and digitization process. Unfortunately for him, he wakes up several hundred years later than he expected... or does he? **Author's Note** This isn't a type of story typical to RRL. You may have noticed LitRPG in the tags, but it's a relatively minor element in the story until later. You may also notice Slice of Life is in the tags. This story is going to be slow and there won't be any power tripping until way later if at all. The focus will be on character development. That doesn't mean I won't still have action/excitement, however. I encourage you to give the story a try. Maybe it will be your thing, maybe it won't. Thanks for even taking the time to read this, and if you do give my fiction a try, I hope you enjoy it. If you don't, well, I hope you find something that you do enjoy. Happy reading!

Supreme Formation Immortal Sovereign
Falling under the Heavenly Tribulation, Ascending Celestial Oalur Kang finds that he's back in the past. Watch him pursue the Heavenly Path of Formations and rise to the peak of the Immortal Path! . . . . . . . . . Hello, this is F-Rank! This is my take on writing cultivation stories. Though I'm sure nobody cares, the intent behind this story was focused on creating a more or less logical cultivation system. I read several stories where the mc transmigrated to a cultivation world (not calling names to avoid unnecessary angst) and was able to completely break the cultivation system and the logic of the world because they had the power of science on their side and were able to think more logically than everybody else. Despite the fact that some characters in those stories were older than the scientific method of thinking and even the human civilization as we know it and the whole society was older than our human race. So I decided to write a story where things about cultivation make sense (as far as a magical world full of super magical people can make sense), so here we are. I don't know if I will be able to fulfil this purpose but I hope that the story will end up enjoyable. Can also be considered a prequel for my other story "Wasn’t my new life in a magical world supposed to be easy?" but has very little overlapping content and can be read as a stand alone story. Also if your feeling like this series is very much like Arifureta, then I'm sorry. Because the beginning of this story will sound very much like that series.
