《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 459: Time Skip

Lin Xiao also chose from the treasure. This time, he didn't take long because he noticed that there was a skill book that seemed to suit him the most. He picked it up and then departed along with the other four.
They didn't want to stay behind too long in case the others began to chase after them if they stayed there for a long period of time.
Swish!
"So, how did you manage to advance so fast?" Hu Fei asked with his lips twitched. He still couldn't believe that Lin Xiao managed to reach the stage he hadn't even reached. This brat was too fast.
"I'm using the chamber." Lin Xiao pointed to the river innocently. Of course, he would not say that he was also the one who caused the dense Qi to grow thinner in this location.
"That shouldn't help you advance this fast, right?" even Lan Qing Xi was doubtful when he heard what Lin Xiao said.
Of course, Lin Xiao didn't elaborate.
"We're going to go deeper. Thank you for your help."
"It's nothing. I didn't expect that you're all doing this for the entire kingdom." Lin Xiao smiled.
Fan Pan passed a look at Lin Xiao. "How do you think the four kingdoms survive this long?"
"… Uh, because there's no one who pay attention?"
"There are always a group of people who were selected to participate." Lan Qing Xi laughed. "Those who are still under the cover can't send on their own so they have to select some to be sent away. If they can't pass and reached top 100, they'll be sent to be slaves."
Slaves?
Lin Xiao was stunned. He turned to look at Fan Pan and Hu Fei but the two of them didn't explain further. It seemed that behind the scenes, there were actually a lot of people who were actually working together.

"I see…"
"Don't think too much and try your best to reach Nascent Soul Stage. There are more treasures inside."
"Are there other Secret Region?" Lin Xiao asked.
"There are a total of four secret regions in total inside this Ancient Battlefield. Two will open in the first year. One at the second year and one at the third year." Lan Qing Xi looked at Lin Xiao. "You're lucky to enter this place so fast."
"Right…"
"Let's go on our separate ways. I sensed fire element from there." Fan Pan took the lead once more.
"Alright, good luck!"
Lin Xiao took the opposite direction. He might be interested in fire element if he wanted to find some for Princess Lan Yi Hua but he was also sure that she would search for some by herself.
Venturing deeper, Lin Xiao then reached the deepest region and saw a lake. At the same time, the Qi was denser once more. It seemed that his action at the river only affected the outer region.
Lin Xiao took out the skill book he obtained from the treasure pile.
Frozen Lake Sword.
Why did he always take elements that's closer to ice rather than lake? But no matter how perplexed he was, Lin Xiao knew that he could use this chance to train.
As for the location?
Hehehe.
"Heaven and earth, please listen to my humble request. Form a protection around me that'll help me to block water and attack directed at me. Allow me to practice in peace."
Lin Hu almost spat blood when he saw what Lin Xiao did. He was speechless. Only this shameless brat could even think of using the ancient power to create such a barrier around him just in order to practice.

Entering the water, Lin Xiao began to train.
"Heaven and earth, please listen to my humble request. Gather the Qi into our body and helps us to advance. Allow us to grow stronger faster."
Lin Hu: "…" MY MASTER IS CRAZY!
For the next year, Lin Xiao didn't come out at all. He continued to stay there and practiced the Frozen Lake Sword aside from understanding more Chilling Lake Sword. At the same time, he was gathering the Qi with the formation once more and with it, the dense Qi was diminishing so fast that it was even lesser than outside.
Many cultivators had already long left this secret region because they couldn't get any benefit.
Lin Xiao only came out after he had broken through to Golden Core Stage 9 and stabilized his cultivation.
He then ventured into the forest, killing some beasts for practice. Those magical beasts rank 1 to 3 all run away when they saw him after a few months since they were not his match. Afterwards, Lin Xiao reached the second Secret Region and repeated the same process.
The chamber near the lake.
Then the lake inside.
Training was so peaceful for 2 years and 8 months then Lin Xiao spend his time to kill the beasts outside. He could feel that he was close to breaking through to Nascent Soul Stage but at the same time, he felt that there was a barrier that he couldn't break.
It made him frustrated.
As he killed several beasts, Lin Xiao gathered their core and absorbed the Qi with Lin Hu help. Without Lin Hu, he would not dare to absorb the Qi because it was a bit too violent to absorb it directly.
Lin Xiao sighed. "Lin Hu, how long will I take to breakthrough to Nascent Soul Stage?"
"I don't know."
"Am I not powerful enough?"
Lin Xiao was doubtful.
The real reason why they could spend 3 years in this ancient battlefield was in order to let those who came from lower kingdom to try to catch up with their talent. But of course, many were unable to do so because their talent was low.
But…
Lin Xiao knew that his talent was good, but why he couldn't make his breakthrough.
Lin Hu was not sure then he looked at Lin Xiao. "That might be because you're too powerful."

Delve
Summary – Level 1: Delve is an isekai litrpg that follows an average guy who just happened to wake up in a forest one day. He wasn’t summoned to defeat the demon lord or to save the world or anything like that, at least as far as he can tell. The only creature there to greet him was a regular old squirrel. Soon enough, he meets other people, only to discover that he can’t speak the language, and that not everybody immediately trusts random pajama-wearing strangers they met in the middle of the wilderness. Things generally go downhill from there, at least until the blue boxes start appearing. Delve is a story about finding your way in a new, strange, and dangerous world. It’s about avoiding death, figuring out what the heck is going on, and trying to make some friends along the way. It’s not about getting home, so much as finding a new one. Did I mention that there will be math? Summary – Level 2: Okay, but what are you in for, really? Well, this story is supposed to be realistic, or at least, as realistic as a fantasy litrpg can be. The main character doesn’t instantly become an all-powerful god and murder-hobo his way across the universe. Delve is, at its heart, a progression fantasy, but that progression is meant to feel earned. The numbers in this story actually mean something. Everything is calculated, and if you find a rounding error, I expect you to tell me about it. That said, if math isn’t your cup of tea, there is plenty more that the story has to offer. Characters are meant to feel real, and progression isn’t only about personal power; it’s also about allies, connections, and above all, knowledge. Figuring out how the system works is a significant theme. ... What, you want more details? Okay, fine, but this is going to get a bit spoiler-y. Are you sure? Yes! Really sure? I mean, this summary is practically half as long as the first chap– Now! Okay, okay! The main character becomes a magic user, but he takes a route that is not very popular in adventurer culture, namely that of a support. There is a full magic system with various spells, skills, and abilities, but our MC decides that aura magic is the way to go, and that the only stat worth investing in is mana regeneration. Most people at the Adventurer’s Guild think that this makes him a bit of a dumbass, but he’s playing the long game. We’ll see how that works out for him, won’t we? Because of his build, the MC levels up fast, at least compared to normal people. There are no cheats, though, and he is limited in other ways. There are some clear and pretty obvious downsides to his build. That’s what makes it fun, no? Morals? Our MC has them. Again, we’ll see how that works out for him. Realism, remember? Would you be okay with killing someone and looting their body? I sure hope not. POV? The focus is on the main character, but there will be occasional varying perspectives from people around him, or involved in the events related to the main plot. It isn’t going to jump all over the place. Tech is standard medieval stasis. No smartphones, but the MC does have a technical background. Computers and their programming might be involved. There might even be a bit of uplifting down the road, who knows? Anyway, it isn’t the focus. He isn’t going to invent the gun in chapter 1 and change the face of warfare. Romance is not a major focus. Friendships are more the name of the game, though there will be some characters in romantic relationships. There is exploration, though not as much of the geographical nature as you might expect. It is more about exploration of the system and the culture. The pace is slow and detailed, sometimes verging on slice-of-life. The action is meant to be realistic and grounded in the numbers, and it is intended to have meaning beyond simply punching things until they stop moving. The general tone of the story is grey, and some parts can get quite dark. People die. Sometimes, people with names, but not anywhere near GoT level. There is plenty of light, too, though, to balance the darkness. The world is dangerous, but overcoming that danger is why we’re all here, isn’t it? Anyway, if you’ve made it this far through the summary, you clearly like words. I hope you enjoy the story! Cover by Miha Brumec Summary Updated: 2020-06-14
