《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 445: A Deal (3)

"Is there no other way?" another elder asked in faint tone.
"I'm afraid there's no other option. We can also wage a war against Sun Kingdom but with the two kingdoms' resource is pooled together… do you think we can win?"
"They also have that magical formation. The number of Golden Core Stage 1 Cultivators in Sun Kingdom have increased drastically. If not because that formation is filled with restriction, I would have long taken it for ourselves."
"That…"
The elders were debating with each other and finally knew that if things prolonged that they would not be the one to benefit. Not to mention, the 20 Years Ancient Battlefield would be open not long from now.
They…. Might not have any chance in the future.
"Let's do this…"
…
Lin Xiao certainly didn't know anything about the Jade Snow Kingdom's conflict. He had already offered them option but of course, he didn't plan to mistreat them if they had decided to join with him.
After Jade Snow Kingdom was annexed, it would be easier for him to take control of the entire land and probably… be able to be proclaimed as the Emperor?
Lin Hu snorted when he heard what Lin Xiao said. 'You'll fulfill the condition if you become the Emperor of the four kingdoms. But is this the extent of your dream?'
The extent of his dream?
Looking outside, Lin Xiao could see the vast sky and land below him. To be able to reach this far was not without hard work but he knew that to become an Emperor, being strong alone was not enough.
He had to grow stronger.
"No."
It was not the end of his goal.
Lin Hu nodded in appreciation. "Good, in that case, get your *ss over here and begin to inspect the restriction."

"Fine, fine."
Handling the matter of the palace and negotiation with Jade Snow Kingdom to Prince Lin Xian, Lin Xiao left the palace with Princess Lan Yi Hua, Prince Lin San, and Xia Ye towards the first restriction pillar.
They transported to the city near it before heading towards the location.
"Is this the place?" Princess Lan Yi Hua asked curiously. It didn't look much different from an ordinary forest.
Prince Lin San's eyes turned golden as he inspected the area. The Eyes of Truth would reveal more than what ordinary people would see, but this time, he couldn't see anything worthwhile.
This made him perplexed.
"It's weird that I can't see anything."
Lin Xiao narrowed his eyes. He couldn't see anything either, but he could sense the dense ancient power coming in one direction. As someone who had long known about the ancient power, he was one of the few who could identify it just by staying around the area.
"Follow me."
"Oh, did you notice something?" Prince Lin San was curious.
"Probably?"
"…Say clearly, will you?"
"I'm not sure what it is, but I'm sure that it's in this direction." Lin Xiao didn't bother to answer his twin brother. He stopped before a barrier and stood there, his eyes were looking towards the front. It was nothing but a forest but there was a formation right before his eyes.
An intricate formation that was laden with ancient power.
His lips curled up to form a smile. How interesting.
Swish!
As his hand moved, the formation before him shook and before long, a passage was formed in front of them. The others were watching in astonishment.
"Damn! How in the world did you manage to find it when we can't even see it?" Prince Lin San was stunned speechless. "My Eyes of Truth can't even detect it."

Princess Lan Yi Hua was also looking at the passageway and furrowed her brows. She couldn't sense anything until Lin Xiao showed this passage to them.
"I have high sensitivity."
"Towards pain?"
"Get lost!" Lin Xiao was speechless. His twin brother had become more daring ever since he reached the Golden Core Stage 3 faster than him. Of course, most of the credit came from the fact that he was sent to stay in the Phoenix Inheritance world for a few hours (and a few years passed over there) and probably gained something.
Though, Lin Xiao was unsure what it was since Prince Lin San was not suited to fire element.
His element was wind and darkness.
"I'm kidding." Prince Lin San laughed and his eyes turned golden once more. Now that he could see the passageway, he noticed that the ancient power swirling over there was plentiful. It meant that Lin Xiao was saying the truth when he said that he was more sensitive.
The ancient power could be seen clearly by Lin Xiao but not by other people.
"Are we going to come in?"
"Yes."
As they walked inside, the passageway was swirling with powers. Others aside from Lin Xiao were looking at the power that was swirling before them. It was magical and at the same time, they knew that if they could absorb it, it would be beneficial to them.
Unfortunately, normal cultivation method was useless to absorb it.
"We're here."
Lin Xiao's words stopped their attempts to absorb the ancient power. They all turned to the front and noticed that they had arrived at the middle. There was a large pillar erected in the middle of nowhere and countless writings were written there.
"Are you going to destroy it?" Princess Lan Yi Hua asked faintly.
"No."
"No?" Prince Lin San turned to look at Lin Xiao. He also think that it would be a waste to destroy it but he didn't expect that Lin Xiao didn't plan to destroy it either. "What do you think will be the best option, though? If we didn't destroy it, it's very likely that we wouldn't be able to get out of this place normally without the help of those outside and naturally, it meant you can't participate in the 20 Years Ancient Battlefield."
"…When did I say that I want to give up on that?"
"Then?"

The Chronicles of Artharian Dagworth
Back in 2020 there were many theories on how the world would end. From the many religions apocalypses, nuclear wars that would leave the planet inhabitable, global warming doing the same, biological weapons getting out of control, viruses mutating into unstoppable diseases to the dead raising to prey on humanity, either due to a virus or just because hell filled up. Also, aliens, from the war mongering kind to the ones so advanced they didn’t see us as more than worms. And of course there was the fail proof theory that the world would end when the sun died. In a bunch of billion years give or take. Althougth some new scientist were discussing if the end would be on the take side, since when the sun started dying things would go haywire on the entire solar system and we would collide with mercury or maybe mars way before the expanding sun engulfed earth. But I digress… Now, those were the mainstream theories that the everyday Joe, who didn’t know the big secret, worried about. So, if you were to ask me which theory was correct I can tell you that I haven’t seen any little green man, at least not from another planet, and so far the sun is still shining, although it’s been only 9 years since everything went to hell, not the few billions (give or take) the scientist predicted, so that one isn’t ruled out yet. These two aside, I'd say all of them. Hey everyone, this is my first attempt at writing. I have been planning to do it for a really long time, and while this is not the one epic fantasy idea I ever wanted to write, I think it's a good one. The plan is to write an end of the world urban-fantasy series. Think a world like Dresden Files, Alex Verus, Iron druid, where magic is real but exist hidden from society meets the apocalypse. It will be written in first person in the Dresden Files style, no plans for other POV for now. As you probally alredy guessed from my style, english is not my first langague, so while google corrector helps, expect grammar errors, and I'd be gratefull for anyone to point them. I plan to write 2 to 3 chapters a week, 2000-4000 words each. Might change as I get more experience and depends on my free time. Cover image from the colections of getwallpapers.com
