Prince Lin San looked at Prince Lin Yan as realization struck him. Right, when their parents were still alive, it was only normal that Prince Lin Yan had the same mindset as him. 

Their parents were powerful. With them around, it was clear that Prince Lin Yan always felt protected and it never mattered so much to him about getting stronger. He was not one who got the chance to become the Emperor either. But when they fell, it was clear that Prince Lin Yan had to take the burden by himself.

It was only then he realized that he needed to be more powerful. Cultivators, no matter how strong they were, were still human.

They could die.

Prince Lin San was always protected by Prince Lin Yan and also Prince Lin Xian. He did learn to become strong but he never put it as his priority because he had two brothers who will protect him. 

But after this fight, he felt that such thinking was foolish. If he was not strong enough, he wouldn't be able to protect himself. His brothers couldn't always be there to protect him. He couldn't just focus on getting some powerful skill like Eyes of Truth whilst abandoning the others' aspect.

He wouldn't be able to survive that way.

He had to become stronger, strong enough so that no one would be able to stand on his way and prevented him from doing what he wanted.

"Thanks, Big Brother." Prince Lin San smiled.

Prince Lin Yan nodded and sat down once more. He looked at Lin Xiao, who was still sleeping carelessly and shook his head. It was out of his expectation that his youngest brother would end up the one receiving the Emperor's Inheritance.

And from the way it looked like, Lin Xiao was indeed still a childish young man….

He was only 18, though.

It didn't take long before Lin Xiao woke up. He still felt his heart hurt and Lin Hu immediately scolded him like there was no tomorrow.

"Damn you, Lin Xiao! How many times do I need to remind you that you're not powerful enough to use the ancient words like that? I know you're using dragon words but the concept is the same! You're already reaching your limit by helping Xia Ye and also maintaining that damn lake! If you dare to try this stunt again, I'll roast your brain and eat it!"

"Can you even roast my brain? You'll also die that way." Lin Xiao scorned.

"Damn you! That's not the point."

Lin Xiao let out a dry laugh and nodded. When he saw Princess Lan Yi Hua, he couldn't help himself and used this last resort. It was the only method that he could think of that could boost his power within a short period of time.

Looking at his own hands, Lin Xiao gritted his teeth. He was still not strong enough. 

"You're awake. Are you alright?" Prince Lin Yan asked.

"Ah yeah, I'm not wounded at all." Lin Xiao hopped up and grinned. Of course, with Nourishing Lake Technique operating at maximum power in his body, it would be a miracle if he ended up dying because of physical wounds.

Prince Lin San swept his gaze to Lin Xiao, feeling perplexed. "Your wounds are already healed from some time ago. But why did you only wake up now?"

"Of course, that's because I need to rest!"

"Scram!"

Lin Xiao laughed. He looked at his twin brother and shrugged. "I'm not really wounded physically as the wounds stem mostly from overuse of mental energy."

"Mental energy?" Prince Lin San blinked his eyes and turned to look at the others.

Hu Fei looked stunned. He glared at Lin Xiao. "Nonsense! How come you know how to use Mental energy when you're still at Foundation Establishment Stage? Even when I reach Golden Core Stage, I only have basic inkling about mental energy!"

"That's because I'm a genius!"

"Genius? I would rather believe a chicken can fly than you're a genius!"

"Damn you! Am I that untrustworthy?!"

"Stop it you two." Prince Lin Yan resisted the urge to beat them up for good. "It's not impossible to sense mental energy when you're at Foundation Establishment but only some people can do that. Besides, the use of dragon words and ancient words all rely on mental energy, so the descendant who were born with ancient power all have higher mental energy talent."

Hu Fei looked hurt. He had been working under his great teacher for so long and yet he was still unable to sense that mental energy. Now his sworn brother was telling him that they all have higher talent than him?

How could he accept this, ah?

"Then you…."

"I can use it in limited amount. San has higher talent than me since Eyes of Truth also relies more on mental energy. His current mental energy might be the highest amongst all of us here even though he still doesn't know what he uses is mental energy," Prince Lin Yan explained calmly.

Prince Lin San was stunned when he heard that. He was already using it and yet he didn't know? Ugh, it seemed that he really did have to reevaluate his power once more.

Lin Xiao was listening with interest. This was the first time he understood that there was more than one type of energy in this world. Aside from Qi, he had only heard about Dragon Power and also Ancient Power but he was never clear on their form or uses.

"That's not fair, ah!"

"You already have high talent to forge weapons. Give the others a chance for higher talent too."

"Damn you! You don't need high talent!"

"Hmph."

Lin Xiao glanced to the back and saw Princess Lan Yi Hua stirred. He swiftly moved to her side and reached out his hand to help her up.
