《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 223: Breakthrough to Foundation Establishment

Looking at the item that the teacher pointed at, Lin Xiao was speechless.
"Really?" Lin Xiao wanted to ask more but the teacher was already impatient and shoved him inside before locking the door. Looking at the bars, Lin Xiao narrowed his eyes when he sensed the flow of Qi.
It seemed that there were some kind of runes or formation that was used by the teachers to prevent them from getting out. After all, just ordinary bars would not be able to hold cultivators inside the prison.
'Lin Hu, can I make my breakthrough now?'
After continuous battles in the forest, Lin Xiao had a good grasp of his own power and had learned how to control it to a certain degree. While he might not look like one, he had become much more powerful now that he knew how to control the massive power that was stored inside his body.
'Yes.'
Sitting cross legged on the ground, Lin Xiao focused his attention to his dantian. Foundation Establishment was just like the name suggest, it was a stage when they laid down their foundation and their dantian would be filled with Qi. The foundation was similar to how they had better vessel to store their Qi so that they would be able to use it.
Focusing his attention to his body, Lin Xiao directed his Qi into his dantian and circulate it. By burning the Qi inside his dantian to form the foundation, he would be able to reach Foundation Establishment.
Slowly but surely, the pressure inside his body increased.
There was reason why many people waited until they were powerful enough before they tried to attempt breaking through to Foundation Establishment. There was simply high pressure would be placed on their body as they making their breakthrough. If they were not strong enough, their body might shatter on the process.

Time passed and Lin Xiao continued his process.
Thankfully, there was no one who could disturb him in this 'high class training room' that
the academy had provided him. There were no other prisoners too, so Lin Xiao could just focus on his breakthrough.
On the outside, Lin Xiao's skin looked like it was scaled before finally, large amount of Qi was released from his body.
The room shook for a moment before resuming its stillness.
Lin Xiao opened his eyes and felt that everything around him had changed. He could see everything more clearly. It was not like his vision was not clear before, but it just felt that it was brighter and more clear in his mind now.
'Congratulations for breaking through to Foundation Establishment.'
Lin Xiao nodded. 'Now, it's time to practice the skills I have memorized.'
'Yes.'
Nourishing Lake Technique.
The technique was focusing more on the flow of Qi in their body. It was just like cultivation technique but it was directed to support them more than anything else. And this support cultivation would continue to operate in one's body once they had reached enough level. This would allow them to have continuous stream of Qi entering their body and circulating.
In another word, this technique could be very powerful in the future. But in early stage, it was hard.
But for Lin Xiao, who had received the Emperor's Inheritance, the technique was easy to understand. It was so easy that it baffled Lin Xiao as he knew how long it took for him to memorize Mountain Sword skill that Elder Wang taught him a lot.
Chilling Sword Technique was also about sword, but it was different from Mountain Sword Technique that he had learned. The sword skill also only has three stance at the first floor, which was also the limit of many Body Training Cultivators.

It was focusing on its stillness and also a very vibrant swordplay that seemed to reflect the lake as Lin Xiao executed it.
Slash!
After training for days, Lin Xiao finally able to create a mark on the wall. His eyes lit up at this notion and he trained even more diligently.
Thanks to that, every single day, there was small earthquake that occurred in the prison, making people who passed by the area to be utterly confused. They thought that they see wrongly, but since many students felt it, they thought that the area might be unstable and scary to scare the prisoners.
Little did they know it was only the side effect of a prisoner who was practicing in the prison.
The last skill, Lake Mirror, relied on one's speed and also Qi. By moving so quickly that they would leave afterimages, that was how Lake Mirror's skill about. And if they were faster, they might be able to leave several afterimages in a long line for a great distance.
Since the space in the prison is limited, Lin Xiao had to make do with what he had. It was not that hard for him to circle around and learned how to use his Qi to move faster. And before long, he could create several afterimages.
'This is sick.'
'What?'
'I can't believe that training skill is this easy. I have only been in the prison for a month but I already have the basic understanding of all three.' Lin Xiao was utterly speechless. The days he spent training Mountain Punch like a madman flashed within his mind. Back then, he felt that training skills was so difficult that his inner organ was churned.
But now…
How could it be this easy.
Lin Hu scoffed. 'Didn't I tell you that you're more suitable for Lake type technique? Just continue what you're doing and make yourself more familiar with the skill. You don't know what you're going to need in the future.'
Lin Xiao nodded. The teacher had warned them to not bite more than they could chew and right now, Lin Xiao knew that even after learning so many skills, he was not biting more than he could chew as his body adapted so quickly that it was unimaginable.

Our Shattered Realms
*This is a learning experience for me so please keep in mind that I am attempting to work on some of the issues brought to my attention early on. However I haven't yet gone back to redo the early chapters.* Less than two days ago every piece of electronics in the world stopped working for more than two hours. The death toll was immense. Hospital equipment failed, cars stopped in the middle of the street, planes fell from the sky, and homework was lost at the worst possible moment. We found out that it was just the flicker and hum of The System warming up. Now we see the true cost of our new world. A Dark comedy that focuses on a few of the many people who aren't stuck in a high level dungeon when our world is translated and joined to Our Shattered Realms. This is my first story that I have published. I welcome any criticism that you have for me. Thank you for reading and I hope you enjoy!

Unto Dark
A man of cripplingly ill mind, bridled with the spirits and regrets of the past. Wade Pierce trudges through each day of his monochrome existence, only as penance for his sins. Such a man is abruptly decamped of this world courtesy of unapologetic forces, left stranded in a realm filled with unknowns. Armed only with his potent yet fragile intellect, Wade advances into this new abyss, as he attempts to rewrite the wrongs he has committed. Plagued by vile beasts, self-righteous Gods, and even his own seething darkness, the cracks in his mind begin to spread and a dangerous, newfound power bubbles beneath the surface. As the world grows darker day by day, this unfortunate journey begins ------------ I suppose rectitude dictates that I should state any themes worthy of noting here. First of all, this story is not a sunshiny one in the slightest. Since it is listed under the psychological and mature tag and not the comedy tag, that shouldn't be a surprise. Next, morbidity is a factor and general apathy towards human life. All of these are common themes amongst other writers, so nothing new there. The story also contains consensual, and non-consensual sexual activity, although I have tried to be as tasteful as is possible for someone like myself. Finally, the pace is drawn-out, and the language is magniloquent at times. Not to mention, the chapters are quite lengthy. Don't expect to read this halfheartedly... Other than that, enjoy the story... There's nothing more important than that...
