《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 199: Maintaining Stance

They spent the day in library and in the second day, they have physical training, so they have to return back to the class. The teacher was a middle aged man who looked scary. He simply swept his gaze across the students then wrote several sentences on the board.
"For the next three months, you just have to do this during my class."
Lin Xiao looked at the board and nearly vomited blood. Did this teacher want to torture them?
20 km of run
1000 push up
1000 sit up
1000 pull up
Standing on the horse stance with level 1 boulder on top of them for 8 hours.
"…"
Many wanted to cry, but they didn't have the tears. Despite their unwillingness, they all began to run on the field. It was not really a big deal for them to run 20 km, but if they had to add the others, it could be very taxing. After all, level 1 of boulder was very heavy and asking them to stay in the same stance for 8 long hours was the same as torture.
After some time, they all finished the first four and began to take the boulder. Those with relatively low physical ability was already trembling even though they just picked the boulder and many were unable to pick it up.
"It's quite heavy…" Lin Yun murmured, but it was still within his limit.
Lin Xiao nodded and then looked at the others. Upon seeing Xia Ye was struggling, he furrowed his brows. It seemed that level 1 was the usual limit for those at Body Training Rank 8 to 10. Those at lower rank, which was rare to get admitted, wouldn't be able to even last on hour.
The teacher looked at them and scoffed. "Stand straight. If you can't even last this long, do you think that you're worthy to be called as genius? And you, you're already at Foundation Establishment but you can't even withstand this? Go run another 10 km!"

"Y…yes!"
Those who couldn't hold the boulder in place were ordered to run again then hold the boulder again. Whenever they dropped the boulder, the teacher would ask them to run 10 km, which made them feeling extremely tired.
Lin Xiao picked the boulder and stood still. For him… this was very easy.
'Your physical body's level is 12, so of course you can pass this stage easily. Tsk, tsk, even if you have to wield boulder at the weight of level 1, you'll not even flinch.' Lin Hu rolled his body in Lin Xiao's consciousness as he mocked his master.
Lin Xiao was speechless. Could he ask for more weight? But considering the way the teacher was looking at them, it didn't look like it was possible.
The teacher was looking at them all and pointed at several of them. His movement looked careless but Lin Xiao noticed that those whom he pointed at were all doing the standing very well without the need of any help.
"You all, 237 of you, change to level 2."
Lin Xiao: "…" oh.
They changed to level 2 and then continued to stand. Some of them were struggling but the rest of them were still able to maintain their stance. The teacher waited for an hour before asking them to change again and again.
In the end, Lin Xiao ended up with level 7 of boulder and still able to stand. The eyes of many disciples around him were already rounded when they saw him like that. It seemed that Lin Xiao would be able to stand very long with that training.
The teacher looked at Lin Xiao and narrowed his eyes. Most of the Foundation Establishment would falter at level 6 and only some of them lasted until level 7. However, Lin Xiao was so relaxed.

He walked straight to Lin Xiao and stopped before him. Just as Lin Xiao thought that he was about to be asked to stand for a few more hours, he heard sound transmission. 'Brat, what's your body's strength?'
Lin Xiao blinked his eyes. Should he tell the truth?
'Just tell him.'
Lin Xiao mouthed out, '12.'
The teacher before him was thoroughly stunned. He looked at Lin Xiao with meaningful gaze then placed his hand on the boulder. Inserting Qi and activated the formation there, Lin Xiao suddenly felt that the boulder was so heavy.
"You, stand here for another 10 hours."
10 hours?
Lin Xiao wanted to cry. How about his sleeping time, ah?
The others looked at Lin Xiao and chose to not help him. They didn't have the intention to put themselves in trouble by helping the young man like him. Before long, the 8 hours' limit was up and only some of them were asked to stay behind for longer and stood in the same stance.
Lin Yun and the others left to eat then returned back to accompany Lin Xiao. Of course, they have no intention to help him out.
"How did you manage to last until level 7, Wenyan?" Wenren Yu asked in low tone.
Sui Wenyan arched her eyebrows. "I'm already training my physical body to the limit before. Once you make your breakthrough to Foundation Establishment, your physical ability will double the previous one, so my strength is quite good."
Wenren Yu twitched his lips. He already struggled greatly when the teacher asked him to stay in the same stance with that level 2 of boulder. In fact, the majority of those who could last long would be asked to change to level 2 of boulder. If they didn't fail even once after several hours but already struggling, the teacher wouldn't ask them to change.
Unfortunately for Wenren Yu and Lin Yun, the two of them were seen to be quite capable and asked to change to the level 2. As the result, they have to run several times across the field because they couldn't withstand the weight.
"Is this really level 2? I feel that it's far heavier," Lin Yun said with a sigh. He was sure that his body would ache terribly tomorrow.
