《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 98: Departure

After they had settled what they were going to do with the Night Yin Flower, they all waited until all the commotion outside died down. No one wanted to get involved with the fight since they could feel the earthquake from time to time.
Their current rank simply made them unqualified to even lift their finger towards those people.
After making sure that those people had left, Wang Jun led them outside.
"Wow," Lin Xiao murmured when he got out from the cave. His eyes were looking at the vast devastation that was presented before his eyes. Right now, he finally realized why the earthquake was so big.
The entire landscape had changed!
The previously lush forest was now looked like it had experienced landslide. Trees were no longer in its previous place while the rocks were thrown everywhere. Grasses were trampled and bushes were scattered. Holes were formed on the ground in many places, creating horrible sight. Even a storm might not even create such destruction.
"It's no longer the same."
Looking towards the cliff, Lin Xiao realized that the edge was widened. There were many craters there too as if someone was punching with large sized fist. The plants near the cliff was also completely uprooted and thrown to the side. Many had already disappeared and probably thrown down there.
No one knew the fates of everything here.
"Everything is completely destroyed," Lin Yun commented.
"This is what happens when powerful cultivators fight," Wang Jun said helplessly. "Sometimes, you can't control the damage that was done to the environment because your power is too big."
Lin Xiao nodded helplessly. He felt that whenever someone grew stronger to the point of surpassing the norm, they would have to face the reality that they were no longer the same anymore.

Their large power would require them to learn how to control and restrain themselves.
"Where are we going, Elder Wang?"
"We're heading to Yi Feng City," Wang Jun replied. "But we're not going to enter the city first. Instead, we're going to stay outside the city and you have to fight against the beasts around the city."
Lin Xiao was stunned. If he was not wrong, he heard that more powerful beasts would roam near the city because the area was richer in Qi. The plants were growing at much better rate because of Qi, so animals were extremely fond of the place.
"Elder Wang, do you want to kill me?"
"Don't worry, your skin is tough after learning Rock Shield. You won't die so easily."
Lin Xiao: "…" that's not the point!
However, no matter how much Lin Xiao protested, Wang Jun used Teleportation Scroll and directly send them away. The only reason why he hadn't used it when the people were still outside was because of the energy fluctuation. Using Transportation Scroll would surely alert them, so he chose to just wait.
Besides, he needed to train Lin Xiao and the others first.
*cough* *huegh*
All three of them felt dizzy and nauseous when they arrived near the city. The distance from their remote village to Yi Feng City was extremely far. Those who had just first used the Teleportation Scroll would have to experience motion sickness.
"You're going to feel better soon."
"Yes?"
Elder Wang smiled and raised his hand. The three of them were lifted into the air then thrown into the air.
"ELDER WANG!"
Lin Xiao felt like screaming when he was thrown in the air like that. Coupled with his nausea, he really really REALLY wanted to vomit right away. Damn that Elder Wang!

Couldn't he at least give some kind of warning beforehand?
Bam!
Landing on the ground, Lin Xiao furrowed his brows. Elder Wang had already protected him with a layer of protection, which meant that he was not hurt. However, he still didn't like to be thrown straight into the forest like that.
He had not even sat down properly when he felt that something was wrong.
Roar!
The sound of roaring alerted Lin Xiao immediately. He turned around and saw a large boar behind him. It was huffing and roaring before rushing over in his direction.
Sidestepping to the side, Lin Xiao then punched the boar's neck with Mountain Punch. He could feel his arms hurting, but he gritted his teeth and endured. The boar had thick skin, so he knew that it had higher defense.
'$%^&8 just what is the rank of this boar?'
Lin Xiao hadn't learned much about beasts' differentiation, but he knew that the categorization went from normal animal to beasts. But the beast itself have their own ranking that Lin Xiao was not aware off.
Roar!
The boar angrily stomped on the ground and then turned its big body around to charge towards Lin Xiao once more. The sheer power from pressure nearly made Lin Xiao incapable of moving.
At that time, Lin Xiao knew that the boar was ranked higher than the beasts he usually faced.
But it was still unknown how much the difference was.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
After evading the boar once more, Lin Xiao punched forward several times, making use of the Mountain Punch that he knew. Seeing that the boar was trying to roll its body to him, he immediately used Moon Evasion and landed on top of the boar.
His hand then continued to punch the boar's neck repeated.
Bang! Bang! Bang!
'It's settled, after this I need to ask Elder Wang to teach me more about animals and their weakness!'
Roar!
The boar was still unsettled and tried to shake Lin Xiao off its large body. However, Lin Xiao grabbed hard and punched with all its power.
Spurt!
Finally, blood spurt out from a wound on the boar's neck and Lin Xiao could see the bones. He crouched down and grabbed it. With loud scream, he pulled the bones that was connecting the boar's neck and snapped it.
The boar could no longer sustain its body after that and fell down with a large bam to the ground.
Bam!

Sanguine
The Coles are probably the definition of a small dysfunctional family, even if they weren’t the worst in existence; they would probably be lauded as an example of the term. The Coles were a small family though. The father, Oliver Cole, was an asshole ex-football jock who bounced around in small paying jobs after wasting most of his life drinking, drugging and whoring. The daughter, Stacy Cole, was smart, but had many issues including anger, trouble with authority, and occasional suicidal thoughts, and was kicked out of many a school for disruptive behaviour. The son, Mike Cole, was innocent, and tried his best to be kind to anyone and everyone, however his own speech impediment, and slow nature only aided people to bully and belittle him, including his own father. The Coles were indeed a dysfunctional family. At least they were, until they got to the small town near the border between the United States and Canada, Sanguine. Welcome to Sanguine. You will stay. With the exception of the first chapter, each chapter only follows one character. The first chapter is the only chapter in which I will include 'Sides' where it follows a different character. This is a short Lovecraftian story, it won't go above seventeen chapters. Note: the book cover is my first attempt, it might not even remain like it is, I was just tired of seeing the standard 'no cover' thing on it.
