Lin Xiao returned to the cave and dried himself. He looked up and noticed that Wenren Yu and Lin Yun had already returned.
"You're back."
Lin Yun looked at his brother helplessly. "Brother, can you not provoke anyone when you get out?"
"That's an accident!"
"But you always create trouble whenever you get out," Wenren Yu added helplessly. He was also wondering how Lin Xiao managed to attract beast whenever he got out. Thanks to that, they got meat to eat most of the time, but Lin Xiao would always be riddled in wounds.
This time, it was even more dangerous as they could feel the vibration even from a distance away and quickly hid in this cave.
Lin Xiao scratched his cheek. Well, that was not his intention. "Oh right, Yun, I found this box. It must be something that our parents left for you."
Taking out the box, Lin Xiao handed it over to Lin Yun. Afterwards, he took out the Spatial Ring that contained so many herbs and handed it over to Lin Yun too. The puzzled Lin Yun could only open the box.
"This is…" Lin Yun was stunned when he saw the medicine inside. It was all expensive medicine, ah!
Even Wenren Yu sucked out deep breath when he saw the medicine. It was all so previous that one wouldn't dare to take it out so easily. His eyes landed on the box and narrowed his eyes. It might be made of special material. Unfortunately, he was not a blacksmith, so he couldn't determine what the material was.
Taking the letter, Lin Yun quickly read the content and an astonishment flashed within his eyes.
"What is it, Yun?" Lin Xiao asked curiously.
"You didn't read it?"
"It's yours, how can I read your letter?"

Lin Yun nodded, knowing that his brother was an upright man. Well… not really that upright when facing his enemies, though.
"My parents already know about my condition, but the medicines here are all of high potency. I can only consume them when I reach certain stage," Lin Yun replied. His eyes turned red. No wonder that his parents could only give him the diluted medicine first, he was too weak in the past.
But since he had already reached Body Training Rank 8, he knew that there were already several medicines that he could consume from the box in front of him.
After mulling for a bit, Lin Yun looked at Lin Xiao. The first half of the letter was talking about the medicine while the other half… was talking about Lin Xiao. Rummaging into the box, Lin Yun took out a necklace.
The necklace was brown in color as if it was made of bronze. In the center of the necklace was a small dragon. The entire color of the necklace was brown, which made it looked like a cheap accessory.
"Brother, this is yours."
"Yes?" Lin Xiao was stunned. He grabbed the necklace in confusion. "What's this necklace for?"
Lin Yun shook his head. "Father didn't say anything. However, he mentioned in the letter that when they first found you, you have this necklace with you."
Wang Jun had just come down after finishing creating proper defense line for them. He entered the cave and looked over in Lin Xiao's direction. His eyes widened upon seeing the necklace that Lin Xiao had.
"Lin Xiao, is that… yours?"
"Yes," Lin Xiao replied. He looked at the necklace, not knowing what made it so special. But since his father kept it so tightly and only given it to him now, Lin Xiao chose to take special care of it. He wore it around his neck then hide it under his shirt. That way, the necklace wouldn't be shown to anyone so easily.

Wang Jun's lips quivered. He clearly knew that every Royal Family members who was born would receive dragon shaped necklace, but he never thought that Lin Xiao would actually have one. He had been thinking whether Lin Xiao was actually related or not but now… it was certain.
Every youngster's necklace would look the same but when they grew older and reached Golden Core Stage, their necklace would then show their brilliance. The color that the necklace showed in the future would determine their position.
Since Lin Xiao was also the one chosen by the Heaven, what color would his dragon had?
Wang Jun somehow felt like anticipating the day.
'Those snobby geniuses from Royal Family will surely be slapped on the face if they know that there's actually a prince that was living outside….'
Thinking about his previous treatment towards Lin Xiao in the past, Wang Jun felt ashamed. If Lin Xiao was wounded during the experiment when he asked the brat's help, he knew that he would never be able to forgive himself.
Thankfully…
Nothing happened.
"What is this necklace for, Elder Wang?" Wenren Yu also didn't know.
Wang Jun sighed. "It's a necklace that showed someone who have connection with the Royal Family."
Lin Xiao's hand paused. He looked at the necklace in his neck then looked at Wang Jun in confusion. "What did you say?"
"I say it's a necklace that showed someone who have connection with the Royal Family," Wang Jun repeated unhurriedly.
At this moment, Lin Xiao's expression was silly. Afterwards he laughed out loudly.

I'm Just a Nameless Side Character in a Vampire Romance Novel
I cried myself asleep after reading the ending to the "Rose and its Thorns" only to wake up as a nameless side character that dies before the novel even begins! Rose and its Thorns is popular webnovel about Julia, the female lead who is sold by her evil stepmother as bride candidate of the Rose Empire. It's a powerful but notorious Empire ruled by Vampires and populated by all the non human races of the world. In the end she had her happily ever after with the crown prince of the Empire, but Eclis, the Grand Duke and the second male lead dies with a broken heart. The novel updated nearly every week and I read it as it published for 3 years! I don't know how I got here but I'm going to thoroughly enjoy myself in this world and correct this novel to the ending Eclis deserves! Release schedule: Wednesday, Saturday at 2:30pm PST

Yin-Yang
Mages in North America seem to have it all – typically from well-off families, and able to manipulate their environment in ways most of the world would never believe. They don’t even have to bother with the mundane details of life like housework, thanks to their sensitives, who also make a useful source for extra magical energy. After all, sensitives have no use for it themselves, and if mages weren’t meant to make use of it, then the sensitives would obviously have some way to prevent that. That a mage can transform a sensitive physically, with no restrictions beyond overall mass and basic biological viability, whereas magic tends not to work directly on any other living thing, is only further proof. And look at the way they live on their own, barely a step above animals. It’s better for them to belong to a mage. Sensitives in North America live on the edge of society and survival – typically so paranoid they avoid hospitals and anything else that could lead to being tracked, many of them with little or no education and no legal identity or existence. Mages exist, and mages want sensitives for some reason, but no one ever comes back to explain what that reason is. Waiting every day for the hunters to notice them doesn’t lead to much motivation or hope for the future. And once they’re captured, they’re the property of someone with a terrifying amount of power over them. Anything is better than capture. Mages are born to be the masters, and sensitives are born victims. Or are they? Jax’s life is turned upside-down when he’s caught by the hunters and sold to a mage. Andreas is still mourning for his previous sensitive, though, unconsciously creating a difficult standard for Jax to live up to, all the more so while still struggling to come to terms with this new reality as Andreas’ sensitive. A runaway sensitive isn’t what Van expects at the mental health centre. Is this a hunter trap, set for him and the rest of the Donovan family by the hunters? The hunters would, after all, love to see them cross the line openly and finally do something they can be charged with. Either way, Miranda’s genuinely in trouble, and he can’t just abandon her to it. Snatching a sensitive out from under the hunters and hiding her is odd behaviour for a mage – but then, Catherine is an odd mage, living in disgrace in the old servants’ quarters of her grandmother’s house, responsible for cooking and housework. Lila owes Catherine her freedom; is there a way to help Catherine achieve her own, and at what price? Tension is building between traditionally-minded mages and those advocating change, and something has to break. *** Yin-Yang includes a small amount of profanity and no graphic sex or on-screen physical violence. However, sex and gender roles and relationships within the mage/sensitive subculture are non-traditional in mainstream North American terms. The key criterion in a primary relationship is not relative sex or gender, but the pairing of mage and sensitive; given the transformation of sensitives by their mages, physical sex is non-absolute for a sensitive, and gender identity can vary as in anyone else. *** *** The way mages treat sensitives is extremely varied and, in some cases is outright abusive. The struggle against that is pretty much the point of the book. It is NOT grimdark or misery-porn! However, if you will be triggered by this, please, don't read Yin-Yang! *** Complete stand-alone novel, 153K words! Also available on Scribble Hub and as a free ebook.
