《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 92: Exploration

Splash! Splash!
Lin Xiao happily ran around the area. The height for many places were not the same, so some area had water reached his knees while the others reached his thigh. However, it didn't hinder him from moving around in the slightest bit.
'Training is proven to be beneficial.'
Having to fight underwater had already increased Lin Xiao's stamina greatly. Added with the nutrition given to him from food, he knew for sure that he was getting stronger and stronger. However, he still had a long way to go if he wished to go against those powerful experts.
He was only on the way to their side little by little.
Splash!
There was no longer any fish around. Those had already returned back to their previous location. Lin Xiao headed back to his old house and saw a sorry sight. The house was covered in moss and there were several holes on the wall. Probably caused by the rocks that were thrown into the house.
"If I still want to live here, I will have to repair everything."
Thankfully, Lin Xiao knew that he didn't want to stay there anymore. He opened the door and peered inside. The inside was also a mess and probably could no longer be used to live. Slowly, he walked inside and looked around, wondering what could have caused so much mess.
'Hm?'
As Lin Xiao looked down, he noticed that there was a different board on the ground. He had never paid much attention before because he always needed to fix the house from time to time. That fixing would make him add more woods and all.
The water that entered the house only up to his toes, which was barely negligible. However, there was a spot that was dry, as if it was above the water level. Lin Xiao crouched down and touched the panel.

"It's really dry."
In astonishment, Lin Xiao tried to pry the edge. However, he found out that it was hard to move. He moved to the side and tried once more. This time, he felt the panel moved a bit but then he moved once more.
Creak!
The panel moved and Lin Xiao suddenly felt wave of Qi slapping his face. He was utterly stunned as he peered down and looked. What he saw was a small compartment that was filled with bottles and also message. From the way it looked like, the compartment had completely blocked the water from entering despite being submerged for so many days.
Lin Xiao frowned. He took out the message and realized that the recipient was his brother. He didn't want to read message for other people, so he simply checked the bottles there. It seemed to contain some valuable medicine.
"I'll just bring the entire box away."
Lin Xiao closed it once more, making the box air tight. He then proceeded to pull the entire box out of the place and then put it inside his Spatial Ring. Looking at the space that was about to be filled with water, he noticed that there was something shiny on the ground. Without hesitation, Lin Xiao bent down and picked it up.
As he opened his hand, he saw a ring in his hand. "Spatial Ring?"
Slowly, he urged his Qi to the ring and nearly fell down when he saw the content. The Spatial Ring was filled with so many herbs. Thinking about his foster parents' occupation, Lin Xiao let out a bitter smile.
This seemed to be their possession. By why did they leave the ring under the box and not inside the box?
Lin Xiao took out the box to examine it once more, but he noticed that there was no crack whatsoever. It was impossible for the ring to get out of the box and then landed on the ground.

'I'll ask Yun later.'
Putting the thought to the back of his mind, Lin Xiao got out of the house again. He glanced at the tree that was planted not far from his house. Miraculously, the tree was still intact even though it was living underwater for so long. Even he was astonished that the tree managed to adapt so greatly.
The mark when he used to train with the tree was still there. By now, Lin Xiao no longer dared to train with the tree because he knew that he might even destroy the tree with a punch given that he had grown stronger.
"Hmm, let me check the cliff now."
Splash! Splash!
Lin Xiao rushed to the cliff that was not far from his house. The cliff was located at higher ground so by the time he reached the cliff, he noticed that the water had already moved back. The lips of the cliff were dry.
Oong!
"Huh?"
For the first time in his life, Lin Xiao looked at the cliff below him in suspicious gaze. He had known that the cliff was filled with mystery, but he never thought much about it. After all, no one dared to climb down this seemingly bottomless cliff.
Not even Lin Xiao.
However, the strange sound came from below the cliff as if calling other people nearby. Lin Xiao stood on the edge with hesitation.
"Should I try to explore or not?"
He was curious, of course, but he also treasured his life. Because of that, Lin Xiao was in dilemma right now.
"Well, nothing will happen if I just remain standing here."
Turning around, Lin Xiao grabbed the hanging roots and pulled hard. Some of them snapped easily and Lin Xiao quickly tied them together into the other still intact hanging roots, making it able to reach lower.
He did it several times, yet he realized that the hanging roots were still going down and down without any sign of the end.
"Well, time to go."
Slowly, Lin Xiao turned around and slowly went down. If only Elder Wang was here, he would have vomited blood because he knew that Lin Xiao was up to no good again.

The Sea of Destiny
[Let me be straight with you. This is trash, like old dime store novel trash. Don't expect grandiose writing, anything profound, or much beyond being free of spelling errors. Like my profile says, it’s hopefully like a salty snack, decent and satisfying for people looking for this kind of thing (at least that's my hope). It is simple, weird, and most likely growing in ridiculousness as it rapidly escalates.] Michael just wants to get away after a rough breakup. He figures some time alone cruising on a sick jet ski will help clear his head. After a small series of mishaps he winds up as humanities last hope adrift at sea after nuclear devastation destroys the mainland. Will he be able to solve the mystery of the bowl of the ancients before nuclear winter freezes over his dwindling food supply? Who are these mysterious women he keeps meeting, and will he even care about the talents they bring to the table, or will he be too focused on how they keep ruining his carefully laid plans for survival at sea? Read this cheesy short story to see for yourself, and discover the true mystery behind the hand of fate.

Everyone knows how the general story is supposed to go. A man, unwittingly going about his normal and ordinary life, is suddenly whisked off to a game style fantasy world where he is expected to become the unwavering hero of the realm. That is until the summoned hero throws a Hail Mary and gets himself transported to a tutorial world before the summoning can be completed. Add in a clumsy goddess and a broken planet and that is just where our story begins... Greetings all, thanks for taking the time to read this. This is my first story here on RRL and it's becomming one of the things I look forward to working on each day. As of June 2020, the story description has been updated (now that the characters have told me what was actually going on this author thought it prudent to update this) . Updates will be sporatic as i have time to juggle real life with writing. You the readers have become an integral part of the story helping to decide how things will progress, so enjoy the story and please leave a review or rating so this author can continue to improve the story. New chapters coming soon with edits to existing ones in process As a side note, I wish I could add a science tag to this. While this is still fiction, I have been incorporating real life scientific theories and explanations for how things could be *plausibly* explained. (No, I will not lecture on these points, but they are added to author notes) ~badw0lf
