《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 25: Primordial Light Night Moss

Lin Xiao turned around and looked at the moss that Wenren Yu pointed at. He tilted his head. "I found it in a cave…."
He proceeded to explain about the cave he found inside the river not long ago. He didn't forget to tell that the door towards the tunnel was covered by rocks as he continued to explain the place.
"Isn't it just normal Light Night Moss?" Lin Yun asked with bewilderment.
"No, it's not. On the surface, it did look like normal Light Night Moss, but this is actually Primordial Light Night Moss, the type of moss that's very rare," Wenren Yu replied. His face flushed red in excitement as he caressed the layer of the moss.
While Light Night Moss was a useful ingredients and could be used to replace light, Primordial Light Night Moss was even more valuable. It was needless to say that there could be a bloodbath just from having this material in their possession.
Lin Xiao blinked his eyes. "Is it good?"
"Good? Of course it is!" Wenren Yu replied. "Do you know that Light Night Moss has over 50 uses in medicine and poison. When it's using Primordial Light Night Moss, the effect can be doubled or even tripled!"
"Tripled?" Now, Lin Yun was astonished. He knew the effect of the medicine better than Lin Xiao, so he understood what Wenren Yu was saying. His eyes as he looked at the Primordial Light Night Moss now looked as if he was seeing a priceless treasure.
Wenren Yu nodded. "If you boil this and eat the Primordial Light Night Moss, it can help your body absorb Qi better. However, you can only do this once a day or you'll have too much medicine in your body that's wasted."

"In that case, what are you waiting for? Let's boil it!"
"Wait, we run out of water."
"I'll take more!"
Seeing his brother run with the buckets, Lin Yun laughed. He looked at the Primordial Light Night Moss and put some onto his palm. "If I'm not wrong, this is also good for cleansing, right? Can it help with my condition?"
Wenren Yu furrowed his brows then shook his head. "Unfortunately, it can't. You'll only feel a bit more sensitive after drinking the medicine."
"I see. It's too bad."
It didn't take long for Lin Xiao to return back while carrying the buckets of water. Lin Yun boiled all the Primordial Light Night Moss that Lin Xiao had gathered and then split it into three bowls.
"You're giving it to me too?" Wenren Yu asked in surprise.
Lin Xiao nodded heartily. "Without you, I'll never know that this Primordial Light Night Moss is very valuable. Just drink it!"
"Aren't you worried that I'll backstab you?" Wenren Yu asked once more in hesitant tone. He was staying low in this house all this time precisely because he was also worried that the two siblings would suspect him. He had nowhere to go and this might be the only place he could be himself.
"If you wanted to kill us, you would have done so. With your knowledge over herbs, you have more than one chance in the past, Lin Xiao said with a laugh. He pushed the bowl closer to Wenren Yu. "Just drink it. I'll collect more in the future when I visit that strange cave again."
"Alright."
Taking the bowl, Wenren Yu silently drank the water along with the Primordial Light Night Moss. He could feel that the Qi was flowing into his body. Even though he had been tending to the precious plants in Taiyi Sect, he didn't have much chance to consume them by himself.

After all, he had no right to do so as an outer disciple.
Crack! Crack!
Slowly, Wenren Yu opened his eyes. He waved his hand lightly as he realized that his bone was getting renewed. He had successfully reached body training rank 7 and would start his training to cleanse his bone marrow.
For this stage, this Primordial Light Night Moss would surely help him to advance even quicker.
"Ah, you finally advance," Lin Xiao commented. He had finished the bowl too and could feel the faint movement of the Qi inside his body. After directing them for a bit, he had to stop because there was nothing he could do anymore. It took time for his body to absorb everything.
Wenren Yu nodded. "Thank you for giving me the herbs."
"Heh, it's nothing much."
Inspecting his own body, Lin Xiao could sense that he was getting much stronger too. He knew that the process would surely take some time because every advancement took a long preparation and step. However, he was already very eager to be able to advance again.
If he could get stronger, he would be able to leave this place and didn't need to be tied with the village anymore. Most importantly, he would be able to get more precious medicine and helped his brother to recover from his illness.
'Soon.'
He would train even harder to be able to grow stronger soon.
Cultivation was always a battle of resources, but it didn't mean that talent and hard work didn't play a role. Lin Xiao knew that no matter how much resources he had, he needed to back it all up with hard work.
A faint layer of mist appeared around Lin Xiao for a moment when he was cultivating but it disappeared before anyone could take notice of it.
"Let's rest and we're going to feast tomorrow!"
"Yes, Brother!"
Wenren Yu shook his head when the two siblings returned back to their previous conversation. He wouldn't join in the feast tomorrow since he didn't really want to show his face to the villagers.
If someone recognized him or questioned where he came from, it would be a disaster.

Trial of Champions
It all began with a family trip to an amusement park. How were any of us to expect being transported from Earth to participate in some "Trial of Champions," whatever that was supposed to be? Given only an hour to choose the Classes that would come to define our strengths, we were almost immediately torn away from one another and thrust into a deadly game of survival. It wasn't all bad, though, as terrifying as it could be from time to time. The supernatural and magical powers of the Classes were like something out of an RPG, complete with leveling up by killing monsters and completing so-called "Sub-Trials." And despite the juicy Experience to be gained from killing other Champion Contestants, not all of the participants were bloodthirsty murderers; some could be allied with, or even befriended. Even if it seemed like everyone who had been chosen for this Trial, no matter what universe they came from, was at least a little bit crazy. I would survive this till the end, and I'd make sure that my siblings and parents did as well, no matter how many times we were separated from one another. No matter how long it took. No matter what I had to do. --- A first-person litRPG incorporating classes inspired by D&D and other sources. If you like blue boxes but don't need to have huge lists of numbers to scratch your itch, you should be satisfied on that front. Each chapter is, in my word processing document, seven pages long (approximately 3300-3900 words). The Traumatizing Content warning is there because of discussions of certain topics. Nothing that I think deserves the warning actually happens in the story.
