《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 7: Awake

Lin Xiao chose not to repeat his words and merely waved his hand. It was clear from his gesture that he had no intention to help them to deliver the letter at all. Well, in the first place, there wouldn't be anyone who was stupid enough to let a kid deliver the important letter to some sects.
"Just let that idiot go, Qin'er," Su Han said righteously. "He's just someone who didn't have eyes."
"Hmph!" Xu Qin harrumphed and looked at her father. Her father was the elder in this village and also one of the few most powerful people. However, even her father was already this anxious.
This meant that they have to quickly search for another tree to hang on.
While the villagers were busy trying to find someone to deliver the letters at several sects around this area, Lin Xiao walked back home. He kicked the stone in front of him with his two hands on the back of his head.
'How stupid, why didn't they try to confirm whether the news is fake or not.'
Lin Xiao's words were never heeded in this village, so he didn't really care that much. What he wanted was to simply return back home and thought for a method to survive. No matter what, he didn't like the idea of switching allegiance so quickly.
It might be only his village, but he hated it all.
'Besides, the fall of Taiyi Sect shouldn't have been that long but they're already that anxious to switch allegiance.'
'It just didn't make sense.'
Lin Xiao felt that there was something wrong with how the elders reacted. He recalled the disciple he met yesterday and felt that all of his suspiciousness stemmed from meeting that disciple. The wounds were fresh, which meant that the disciple was wounded within 24 hours from the time he met that disciple.

Probably even earlier.
Which meant that there were also some of people who were chasing after him near this village?
Somehow, Lin Xiao felt that he was thinking too much.
He should just go home and train in his punch again. Usually, he would be trying to search for money at this point of time, but he was not in the mood to do so. The villagers' attitude only making him annoyed.
He might like to play prank, but he hated disloyalty the most.
"Brother! You're back?" Lin Yun called out when he saw his older brother coming.
Lin Xiao nodded. "Yes. What are you doing, Yun?"
"I'm mixing the herbs that you gathered yesterday, Brother. Some of them are pretty good."
"Ah."
It was then Lin Xiao recalled that he forgot to clean up the herbs that he managed to gather from the mountain. He scratched his head and said sheepishly, "I forgot that there might be some that you need."
"I can search it myself. Also, Bro, what happened in the village?"
"Taiyi Sect fall."
"Yes?" Lin Yun's hand stopped moving. The spoon he was using to stir the medicine almost fell to the other side as he looked at his brother with his mouth open wide. The news that Lin Xiao brought to him sounded inconvincible,
That shouldn't have been possible.
"It's true," Lin Xiao said helplessly. He stood in front of the tree and readied his stance. His eyes were focused on the tree before him.
Sua! Sua!
As he was busy punching, he didn't realize that Lin Yun was still perplexed. The confirmation that Lin Xiao said only told him that everything that Lin Xiao said just now must have been the truth.
But….
How come he accepted such news?

"That's bad, Brother."
"It's very bad."
"What are we supposed to do?" Lin Yun asked again. He was no longer in the mood to care for the medicine in his hand anymore.
Lin Xiao was silent for a moment. "I don't think that it'll do us anything good to get involved for now. I would say, we should stay low and observe the people for the time being and see whether Taiyi Sect have truly fallen or not."
"You didn't believe the news?"
"Not really."
"Why?"
"Because they said that there's no survivor," Lin Xiao said with certainty. "You know very well that it's not true, right?"
Lin Yun nodded. Even though he was just a sickly young boy, he still recognized the clothing from Taiyi Sect. The young man that Lin Xiao brought home yesterday should be a disciple from Taiyi Sect, probably someone from outer disciple.
Outer disciple were disciples who didn't have that high of talent. They were not usually regarded highly inside a sect, but they were still important. As long as they managed to stand above the rest and proved that they were better, they could reach higher rank.
Of course, with so many outer disciples in a sect, it was needless to say that the competition was very fierce.
Swish!
Lin Xiao punched forward and frowned. The punch didn't feel right just now.
"You need to lower your center of gravity."
The unfamiliar voice startled Lin Xiao. He glanced to the direction of their house and saw the stranger from yesterday was standing near the door. He was holding onto the frame while trying to keep his body from moving around. Even though it was clear that he had difficulties to stand, he still looked in Lin Xiao's direction as if he was telling the truth.
Lin Xiao looked at the tree once more and lowered his center of gravity a bit. After adjusting his movement, he punched forward.
Pa!
The dent on the tree was a bit deeper than what he usually could do.
Lin Xiao was dumbfounded.

I promise terrifying mushrooms, angry snakes, confused gods, even more confused cultivators and much, much more! Update schedule: (02/6/2022) As chapters are done, sorry. Progress: Currently up to old chapter 13-15. Chapter 24(or 25)/13, Parts 1 & 2 will be the end of the rework. Part 2 has been temporarily delayed due to me getting a frozen shoulder in the middle of June, which has been very slow to properly clear up. It is getting better, though, but Shoulder/neck is the worst set of muscles to have issues with ;( You can currently pick up most story threads after the rewritten chapters, starting from chapter 13-14 (old) Genre-wise, this is a bit hard to pin down. It's technically a Xianxia (because cultivators!), but it also veers towards Xuanhuan and has more traditional High Fantasy elements and a bit of Gods and Monsters and All Myths Are (on some levels) Valid. It also has a fairly large, ensemble cast, so if multiple point's of view are not your thing I am sorry. It won't ever really be considered 'grimdark' by any real measure of that definition but it does go to some complicated and fairly places dark occasionally, which I will note in author pre-chapter notes when expedient!. About the Author I mainly write fiction for my own hobby, it makes a nice change from academic scribbling! I started writing this quite a number of years ago. It has grown somewhat organically out of a bunch of different interests in all kinds of Mythology, World Building, Drawing Maps, Archaeology, Anthropology, History and Epic Fantasy fiction into what it is today. So I hope you enjoy the story and thanks for reading! Other stuff The cover is made by the author, using photos taken by the author. There is a Discord Server- Please come and chat, but beware of spoilers.

Mana World - Convergence
The story is complete it was a prototype and it is BAD.I do not recommend reading it, I will not edit it in any form, it is still here as a personal remained of how bad I was at the start. Mages are soo cool but without mana you can't become a mage. Well let's see how we can get mana to this world. I'm sure it would be a perfectly safe and excellent idea. First try at writing something like this. Dunno if I will update constantly or not, dunno what will happen with the story and the characters. Recipe: 3 cubic meters of science, 5 shit tons of pseudo science, 2 dantians of mistycism,1/2 cup of stupid references, 1 package of sarcasm, 1/400 tolkien epicness, 1 tea spoon of stupid commentaries, a pinch of craziness and dressed with randomness, uppps, too much randomness. Accepting all kinds of constructive criticism. Well prologue is finished.
