"That's impossible!"
"How come Taiyi Sect fall just like that?"
"Yes! We should go there and investigate it!"
"We can't possibly accept this!"
Voices of villagers who were adamant that it was a lie began to start. They wanted to confirm the truth by themselves because neither one of them could accept this truth, the harsh truth that the biggest sect they knew in their entire life had fallen.
No one wanted to accept it.
On the other hand, there were several villagers who began to talk about what the future of their village would be.
"Without the protection of Taiyi Sect, would it mean that we're going to be in danger?"
"What should we do?"
"I, your father, also didn't know. Damn this! Why don't we all just leave?"
"Leave? Where can you leave in this vast wilderness?"
"But if we stay here any longer, it's uncertain when bandits will come and possibly raid us!"
"Yes!"
Panic began to spread amongst the villagers. Each of them understood very well that it was only thanks to Taiyi Sect that they could stay safe. However, things were not always going according to what they wanted. It was almost certain that they would not be able to live in this area anymore because of the danger.
Everyone was afraid.
Afraid that the worst will come without warning and possibly killed them all.
"You're not afraid?"
The question near him made Lin Xiao raised his head. He could see Xu Qin asked him with pale face. She knew that very well that she wouldn't be able to survive without the help of Taiyi Sect,
Lin Xiao chuckled. "Even without Taiyi Sect, there are other sects nearby. We can switch allegiance if Taiyi Sect is truly destroyed."

The first sentence from Lin Xiao easily infuriate others. They always referred Taiyi Sect ever since they were small, hoping that they could join this big sect that was very powerful. Could other sect compare to Taiyi Sect?
They didn't believe that.
They didn't want to believe it.
But the second sentence effectively stopped Xu Qin from bashing her fist to Lin Xiao's face. She had reached body training rank 5, which meant that she was at the same stage as Lin Xiao. As she had stayed in that stage for a much longer time, it meant that she was also stronger than him.
"You don't think that Taiyi Sect have fallen."
Lin Xiao put his hands on the back of his head. "If there's truly no survivor, how come the letter fall in our elder's hand?"
"It's from our people who lived near Taiyi Sect!"
"Oh."
"Don't you 'oh' me, you brat!"
Passing a glance to Xu Qin, Lin Xiao ignored the young girl once more. The content of the letter was lies. There were still some disciples who managed to escape from the destruction of Taiyi Sect.
That stranger at his home….
When that man woke up, Lin Xiao planned to ask that young man about what had happened over in Taiyi Sect.
Xu Qin fumed. Lin Xiao was practically the only person in this village who dared to ignore her. Every other young men would always adhere to her because of her face and also skill. After all, she was one of the few most talented people in this village.
"Everyone please calm down!" Elder Mu spoke again. He raised his hand in an attempt to calm the villagers who were panicking.
"But elder…."
"We're going to die without their protection!"

Elder Mu sighed. "There are several smaller sects around this area, so we plan on sending people to head there to deliver some letters, expressing our intention to have them protect us. Since there's no more Taiyi Sect, it meant that we need to rely on another stronger branch."
"Stronger branch?"
A Villager felt exasperated. "Is there even any branch that's stronger than Taiyi Sect?"
"Elder…"
Everyone looked at the three elders. It was public knowledge that Taiyi Sect was basically invincible in this area. There wouldn't be anyone who dared to make any move against Taiyi Sect because of the experts inside the sect.
Elder Su raised his hand. "We don't have any other choice, so we're just going to settle for the second best. Would you like to cooperate together?"
"This is our only hope to survive in this world. Without latching onto anyone's back, we're no different than a leave brought by the wind wherever it wants without able to control our fate. Is that what you want?"
"No."
"Elder, leave it to me! I'll surely handle the delivery well!"
"Me too, Elder!"
Even though some people were still skeptical, they all wanted to be able to survive from this incident. If Taiyi Sect fell, they would not be the only village that had to bear the brunt. Many other villages around this area would need help, so they would surely seek help from some other sects nearby.
The sects were not as strong as Taiyi Sect, but they didn't have any other choice.
"We're not going to confirm first?" Lin Xiao asked suspiciously. If the letters were sent by someone else, they would be committing treason against Taiyi Sect like this.
Xu Qin looked at Lin Xiao as if she saw an idiot. "It's the truth. Taiyi Sect is no more, so we're going to search for another powerful sect."
"How stupid."
"Lin Xiao! What did you say?!"

Grimm Tales: A RWBY Story
Two years after losing everything, two sisters will try to rebuild the lives they one had, as well as mend the heartache left behind through their connection with the many strange cast of characters they meet, and the many strange story's they're caught up in. Grimm Tales is a RWBY fan fiction I wrote and illustrated from 2014 through 2016. Keep that in mind when experiencing the story and the art within it. Also keep in mind that this story is technically unfinished. I put this aside in October of 2016 after completing what you can call the "first season" of what was going to be a multipart series. Even though the entire story remains unfinished, things do end in a somewhat satisfactory manner.

The Designated: Out of Control
It happened quicker than anyone would have imagined. Multiple hurricanes were one thing. People had dealt with that in the past. But, like kids playing dominoes, one thing crashed into another. Areas affected by hurricanes needed resources all along the Gulf and East Coasts drew rescuers and resources away from other parts of the country. When wildfires lit up the Pacific coast and mid-west, those areas were already understaffed. Driven by hurricanes in the Pacific basin, uncontrolled wildfires burned through towns, destroying everything in their paths. Across the Pacific, Asia didn't escape. From the Philippines, across China, into Indochina, and Bangladesh and India. Typhoons and cyclones pounded the coasts and far inland. Widespread flooding forced millions from their homes and across international borders. Mexico was hit hard and thousands died in mudslides as Katia slammed into their East Coast. The refugees fled north and west. Rumours started that hundreds of thousands were headed for the US border. Instead of running out of steam in the southern US, several hurricanes tore up the eastern seaboard, devastating cities and renewing their strength before veering east across the Atlantic. Maria and Ophelia veered east and slammed into Europe, reaching as far as the Netherlands and Russia before finally dissipating. After that, too many weather stations were offline to provide any form of co-ordinated information or warnings. Wildfires in Portugal burned ahead of the storms, fanned by hurricane winds. They sparked wildfires leapfrogging across Europe, beyond any one country's ability to cope. Already uneasy from multiple terrorist attacks over the summer, anti-refugee groups seized the opportunity to stage protests across Europe. Some turned violent as they clashed with police forces. Several governments declared martial law to quell the rioting and enforce evacuations along the path of the storms. Rumour and speculation overwhelmed facts. Unrest spilled over into widespread violence. Then sickness broke out in the displaced populations. Within a matter of a dozen weeks, tens of millions died. In the coming winter months hundreds more would follow. The Designated Project was activated.
