《Rise of the Great Emperor 》Chapter 2: Training, Reaching Fifth Stage of Body Training

"What?" Lin Xiao glanced to his brother with mischievous grin. "You're at the prime age for youngsters to get attracted to girls. Don't tell me that you have finally have someone whom you liked?"
"Of course not!" Lin Yun shook his head almost immediately. He looked away and pointed to a distance. "I see some smoke coming from that place, so I try to come out to see clearer, but there's nothing that I can see."
"That place?"
Lin Xiao furrowed his brows at the direction that his brother picked. It was the direction where Taiyi Sect was located and obviously there would be no one who dared to mess with that sect, right?
In the eyes of the villagers here, Taiyi Sect was the biggest and most powerful sect that they ever knew. Granted, they have never left this area and the disciples of Taiyi Sect were more powerful than them. There were even several Foundation Establishment people, the next stage after body training.
For most people in this village, they couldn't even get pass body training, much less entering Foundation Establishment. Because of that, they always felt that those people from Taiyi Sect were very powerful and deserved to be referred.
"Yes." Lin Yun nodded. "But when I come out, I can't see clearly because the sky is filled with mist."
"It's mountains area, so what do you expect?" Lin Xiao shrugged. "Anyway, let's eat. I'm already starved after running around."
Lin Yun laughed and took out the dried meat they had. It was hard like rock, but this was the only meat they could eat. Normally, they couldn't even get meat because it was so hard to hunt.
There was a hunting team in the village and Lin Xiao had long wanted to join. However, it was impossible for him to join because they wanted for everyone who join to be at body training rank 5. Lin Xiao was only at body training rank 4, which meant that he lacked a stage.

Lin Yun himself was also at the same stage as Lin Xiao. Despite being sickly, he still trained his body from time to time so that he would be able to get stronger.
"I'll surely hunt some rabbits for our food later," Lin Xiao said as he chewed the hard meat. Gah, it was so hard. He felt as if he was eating rock rather than meat.
"Ok, Brother. I believe you."
"Don't be sarcastic. Your brother is the best!"
Lin Yun just laughed and refused to say anything else. He cleaned up the plate while Lin Xiao headed to the courtyard and began his punching routine. Even though they were all not part of Taiyi Sect, they were still given the set of training from the sect named Mountain's Punch.
It was a very basic skill that was taught to almost everyone in the area.
Of course, Lin Xiao was not an exception.
The punch was relying on the point of contact. They have to make sure that their power was transmitted perfectly when their punch reached their opponent. At that moment, all their power would be used to knock their opponents. Those who were skilled would be able to garner power comparable to mountain.
That's why it was named as Mountain's Punch.
Sua! Sua!
Punching the tree on their courtyard, Lin Xiao was trying to feel a sense of the punch from each of his movement. There were only some grazes on top of the tree's skin even though Lin Xiao had already punched it countless times.
Again, again….
There was only one word repeating inside his mind. Before long, his gaze was completely focused on the three before him. Nothing else could disturb him as he was immersed in the movements that he always trained for years.

Bang!
A faint sound startled Lin Yun, who was about to doze off. He quickly raised his head and looked at Lin Xiao, who had stopped punching. There was faint red mist layer around his brother's topless body.
"Brother, did you break through?" Lin Yun asked excitedly.
Lin Xiao grinned. "Of course! Your brother is now qualified to enter the hunting squad!"
"Congratulations, Brother!"
Well, of course he would not be accepted directly. There was still an examination that he needed to take before he would be recognized as the hunting squad's member. However, reaching the fifth stage of body training would be the first step.
Clenching his first, Lin Xiao promised himself that he would train even harder.
When one reached sixth stage of body training, they would be qualified to participate in the sect selection. There was only one sect in all the youths mind in this place, which was Taiyi Sect. Even though there were several few smaller sects in the area, no one thought of joining those sects.
They wanted to join the best.
And the best would be Taiyi Sect.
Lin Xiao was not an exception. If he continued to train with this pace, he would be able to reach the necessary stage by the time of the examination.
'Let's stake it all out.'
Pulling his thoughts back, Lin Xiao focused his attention to the tree before him and continued to punch it as hard as possible. His movement became smoother and he could last longer.
He felt happy.

Myth of The World's Trees
And Simon answered their call with a single statement that nobody understood "Et super mos absit hoc hodie!" "Yah!" "WWWaaaaaaahhhhhhhh!" "AAAlllllaaaaallllaaaaallllaaaa!" "EeEEellllleeeeeelllllleeeeeeuuuuuuu!" I, too, yelled a battle cry at the top of my lungs. I had no idea what Simon had just spouted but from Camilla's giggling, I could guess that Simon thought that spouting nonsense was his way of getting out of the earlier predicament. "I forbid death upon this day," Camilla said. "What?" I answered a bit at a loss. "Ancient Latin," she replied smugly, "He said 'I forbid death upon this day'." I laughed aloud "Then he is gonna be really disappointed in everyone here," Camilla did not reply and instead took a deep breath. I did the same, zoning out everything in my surroundings. The environment became a world of electrical pulses traveling across several networks. I perceived the world through my lightning and sped my heartbeat to inhuman levels. I was present now, at this moment, at this point in time. I could feel the electrifying air saturating my lungs, the electrified ground vibrating at the rhythm of the approaching enemy. Then I took a step forward, everyone followed in tandem. Camilla the first, and then the others. Then I took a second step, and this time everyone followed simultaneously. Third step… Fourth step… Fifth step… Then light jogging… Speeding up… Running … Running faster…. Then suddenly, everyone disappeared into motes of light particles that re-constructed itself hundreds of feet above the horde, dozens of miles away from our initial position. We were literally 'diving' into battle.-------------------------------------------------------------------Despite a rough childhood in the slums, Omari had everything a guy could want - a loving girlfriend, an understanding sister, a wonderful teacher, and his dream job. Letters from a Dying World
Times historic are often penned after the fact in the lifeblood of the pitiful, forgotten masses. That roiling, uncountable crush of humanity, they who held the pikes and they who threw down the tyrants. Their veins opened by gazes academic, sharp and cruel, and pecked away at with quills, written out of their own story. The Second Dark Crusade was a time of such poignancy. A time when the light of man waned and flickered, choking in the acrid smoke of its own inadequacy. As befitting of such an age it has been covered more than a capital whore, and so I attempt not to tell that story again. That story of dull, unfeeling analysis. Neither here will you find the browbeating, propagandistic screeds so common in the hands of men, the light of youth still burning behind their eyes. Nay, here I shall attempt to cover fresh ground, not tread on the grave dirt of long dead authors. Here I shall attempt to tell the story of the small lives caught, unbeknownst to them, in the great and torrential downpour that we now call history. Here lies the true story of The Second Crusade. - Loremaster Ip'Qal
