《My Unconventional Delivery System! 》Chapter 164: Removing the curse

Kyle stared at the chief who was bowing at him right now, he sighs and says. "As I said, I'm not sure if I can."
However, even after saying that, the chief was still bowing at the floor, she believes that he is capable of curing her granddaughter, he was her only hope because if she cures Miya in the normal way, she would die before they could even gather the ingredients.
Suddenly, the other elves started to bow at him as well, now he was in a tight spot, but he understood very well, he gave them hope of curing the curse, finally, he said.
"Alright, fine I'll try removing her curse but don't expect too much, got it?" He had to at least try since it's better than nothing.
Hearing his answer, the elves cheered and thanked him and Miya thanked him without knowing the reason, and because of this, he thought. 'Damn, I can't let this sweet girl die,'
"Kyle-sama, do you need anything? If you do, please do not hesitate to ask!" The chief spoke with motivation, her tone filled with confidence that he could remove her granddaughter's curse.
Damn this expectation is really heavy, it doesn't help him at all, instead, it added more pressure to him, whatever you reap what you sow, he did this upon himself, and now he had to do his best to remove the curse of this little girl.
"I don't need anything, but all of you have to leave this house until I remove the curse. I don't need anyone to disturb me."
Everyone nodded, and they immediately left the house afraid to disturb him, then only he and Miya were left in the house. After everyone left, he spoke.
"Miya, don't be nervous, calm down okay?"
He noticed that the little elf was nervous when everyone left aside from them, but she wasn't that clueless. She knows that this big brother is here to help her, so she calms down.

"Good girl." He smiled gently at her.
Miya became happy after he praised her for being a good girl, this adorableness could kill, then he thought. 'Now, I should try to absorb the curse….'
"Miya, stay still and close your eyes, big brother's gonna absorb the curse."
"Mhm! I'll listen to big brother!" She gave him a cheeky smile, then she closed her eyes.
After that, he touched her head, then suddenly his system screen popped out right in front of him.
[ Do you wish to absorb the curse 'Les Elfes Mourront' ]
He was surprised to see this, he thought. 'The system could do this?'
But either way with this, he could remove the curse from this little elf, then he said. "Yes."
A moment later, his system started sucking the curse out from Miya, in real-time, the black hair of Miya started to turn into a golden blonde like it was originally a full minutes later, her hair is now a pure golden blonde color, and there wasn't a speck of black anywhere around her hair.
[ You have successfully absorbed the curse Les Elfes Mourront' ]
Kyle smiled seeing this, he did it! He removed the little girl's curse, she wouldn't die at the age of 20 now, then he looked at Miya and said.
"Miya, you can open your eyes now."
As she heard his words, she instantly opened her eyes and stared at him with a big smile. "Big brother! I feel fluffy! This is amazing! How'd you do it?!"
"Fluffy?"
"Mhm!" She looked at him with her pure sky blue eyes.
He thought. 'I guess, this is the result of the curse being removed since I don't know how she felt when the curse was still there, let's say she's more refreshed than before.'

"That's good, now you will feel this fluffy feeling every day from now on!" He smiled gently at her.
"Is that true big brother?! Yay!" Miya cheered happily.
Her reaction doesn't fail to make him smile, he thought. 'If I had a daughter would she act like Miya?'
Then he shook his head and thought. 'Wait, why did I think of that? Anyway, it doesn't matter what gender my first child is, I would love them.'
After that, he called everyone saying that it's okay to go inside now, then hurried the first one to go in was the chief, Miya's grandmother after she saw her granddaughter, she couldn't stop the tears that was pouring out from her eyes, she couldn't describe how happy she is this moment, she was glad that she wouldn't have to say goodbye to her granddaughter.
To her nothing is painful that seeing kin dying before her, like what happened to her son and daughter in law, she couldn't bear to see another loved one, dying before her, when Miya received the curse, she almost gave up living in this cruel world, but she couldn't because for the sake of her granddaughter, she have to stay strong, she didn't want Miya to see the weak her.
While there is a cure, it was impossible to make one, not with the current resources that they had, so she could only wait for her granddaughter to pass away, after that she will follow her because she doesn't have the will to live without her, she was the only family that she had, she was her mental support without her she would have gone crazy.
But now, she didn't have to wait for her granddaughter to die and suffer, it changed because a certain God arrived in their village and it changed everything.
Then the chief kneeled at him and spoke. "I Chuka Luna Marceau, thank you Kyle-sama the God of delivery. I won't forget this debt for the rest of my life."
Kyle shook his head and said. "You don't have to be that formal, I didn't do anything."
Technically it's true because it was the system that absorbed the curse and not him, then Chuka smiled gently and replied. "You're too humble, my lord."
"My lord? No, just call me Kyle."
"That won't do my lord!"
"....Whatever." He decided to give up since he knows that it was impossible to change her way of addressing her.
The elves were very happy, knowing that the chief's granddaughter is now cured, this calls for a feast!
…
..
..
The feast was fun, Kyle was the one who was in charge of the food. While he may not be at the level of Soma's cooking, he could say that he is the best cook in this world.
At first, the elves didn't allow him, because they thought it was rude of them to make a God cook, but they couldn't stop Kyle and they let him be.
They were ready to eat anything he cooks, whether it's good or bad, but then all of them were shocked when they got to taste his dishes.
It was so delicious!
It was quite unexpected, but they enjoyed the feast more, because of Kyle's delicious cooking, though he was just an above-average cook in his world.
But in this world, he could say that he is the best since the cuisine here is not advanced.

Sexy Sect Babes
“One in a billion.” Jack kept repeating the mantra in his head. “One in a billion.” That was the number the Omni-Corps liked to cite whenever someone stepped onto one trans-mat pad and then simply… never stepped off the other. “Safer than a car,” he repeated as he slogged through the snow, his mining overalls doing at least a passable job of keeping out the cold as he brushed aside a tree branch. “Safer than a plane. Or a starship. Safest form of transport in the Star League.” He slammed his fist into a nearby tree, exo-empowered strength shattering it into little more than scattered bark and kindling. “Yeah, well I never heard of a car ride stranding some prick in another dimension!” He roared, his voice echoing through the seemingly endless forest around him. Then he kept marching. He’d seen the fire off in the distance. And given all the snow around, he sincerely doubted it was natural. Which left the unnatural. Which meant people. He hoped. Because even if the trans-mat had screwed up, he doubted it had dumped him too far off the central finite curve. The fact that the air was breathable and that he could recognize the trees around him as oak told him that much. And if the dimension he was in had trees native to Earth, chances are it would have animals too. Of which humans would hopefully be no exception. “Because I’ll be damned if I spend the rest of my days talking to goddamn squirrels.” No, if there were humans on this mudball, he was going to find them. One way or another.

Leftover Apocalypse
[Participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge] This is a story about the newly-adult Calliope Smith having a terrible day that ends in her getting mysteriously teleported from Phoenix, Arizona to a fantasy world where her life is in constant danger. She considers this an upgrade. Someone evil is looking for her, and she doesn't know why. Someone who seems to know a lot about her has promised they'll help her, but she doesn't know who they are. All that matters to Callie is that magic is real and one way or another she's going to learn it. The end of the world is coming up, sure, but Callie won't need to worry about that. In fact, by the time she even finds out about it one of the doomsday devices will already be destroyed, and the authorities will be well on the way to dealing with the other one. It's fine. Everything will be smooth sailing. Almost certainly. Probably. Chapters are usually about 2500-3500 words, and the goal is to post 2-3 per week but I sometimes get busy or have some writers block. It's your standard portal fantasy / Isekai premise, but unlike some the main character's time on Earth and how she got pulled into another world will (eventually) be explored. Some slight GameLit-feeling stuff later, no menus or level-ups but there's something suspiciously like a skill tree when the magic system gets going. No number crunching, and while the main character will get to do some silly stuff she won't be a god like in some fics (and will in fact spend a lot of time being badly outclassed by her enemies). Some reader interaction, ranging from adding to the worldbuilding to occasionally making big important decisions about skill progression. Please note that the main character is flawed and impulsive, and will make some stupid decisions. That's part of the story, but I get that it's not for everyone. Trigger Warnings: Foster care system references, crappy parenting. Some mental health adjacent stuff, specifically the main character has some issues where she experiences varying levels of empathy and emotional vulnerability depending on the day (it's complicated and not meant to portray any real-world conditions). Occasional violence including mention of death and grievous bodily harm, but no detailed descriptions of gore.
