《My Unconventional Delivery System! 》Chapter 93: Signing up as an imperial guard

A/N : Here another chapter as promised
Kyle found himself near a huge wall, he looked around and he found out that he wasn't the only person around, there are various kinds of people gathering? No forming a line as if they were waiting for their turn.
With that, he immediately knew where he is now, he muttered. "I should be outside the capital…"
He unmounted his motorcycle, and he put it inside his space inventory, knowing that it would bring him trouble, he decided to hide it.
His situation was a bit different from the rest, unlike his past deliveries it was fine to show his motorcycle without bothering for any consequences, but in this case, he would unlikely to go in if he were to ride his motorcycle.
The guard would ask him questions regarding his motorcycle, which is a pain in the ass to deal with, for now, he should get inside like everyone else.
He went toward the waiting line and waited for his turn, an hour later it was his turn to get inspected.
"Is this your first time going to the capital?" The guard asked.
"Yes, it's my first time."
The guard nodded and said. "Fill this paper with your name, age, occupation and after that, you're free to go."
"Okay." He took the paper and looked at it, his expression suddenly turned strange.
The guard noticed his expression, so he asked. "What's wrong?"
"I don't know how to write."
"..."
---
With the help of the guard, he somehow managed to finish filling the paper.
"Sigh~ although I can understand their language, I don't know how to write using their language letters!" The system was automatically translating every verbal language for him, but it wasn't the same case for the language letters.
"So, anyway this is the capital huh...it looks more lively than I expected?" His image of capital was based on the anime back in his previous life.
He looked at the system map, his customer or Esdeath is currently at the castle, he touched his chin and pondered. "Although I can simply cast invisible magic in myself so that I could sneak inside the castle, the previous delivery service made me realize that being invisible isn't a nice thing at all...then I have two possible ways it's to forcefully get inside the castle or signing up as an imperial guard…"

If he were to go inside forcefully, no one could stop him, only Esdeath could, however, it would be no fun at all, he decided to sign up as an imperial guard.
He looked at the map to see where he should sign up, however as he saw where to sign up his expression turned blank. "It's also inside the castle…."
He felt like the idea of forcefully going inside the castle is a joke, when there was an easy way of doing so.
---
He got inside the castle after a little inspection, the imperial guards weren't as toxic as he thought.
Also to sign up as an imperial guard, he needed a silver coin but it wasn't a problem, since he managed to 'borrow' a few silver coins from the imperial guards.
After signing up, he had to be tested to see if he was qualified to be an imperial guard or not, and the test was he had to fight a unit captain rank imperial soldier, it wasn't necessary to defeat the unit captain, you just needed the captain's approval.
So the qualification test on becoming an imperial guard started, after the said captain arrived, he inspected Kyle for a moment saying. "Listen, kid, give it up, look at you, your skin is pale, and look at your physique! Even an 8-year-old had much more muscle than you!"
Kyle stared at the captain blankly, he thought. 'This dude is clearly mocking me.. even though I don't have any sort of grudge toward you, welp you reap what you sow.'
He secretly took out 'The Promise' from his space inventory, in the outsider's viewpoint he took a dagger from his pocket.
"Hooah? Kid, you're pretty stubborn! I gave you a chance but you didn't cherish it!" He sneered at him.
Kyle had it enough, he replied. "Hey, can you please start already? The more you talk the more you are similar to a cannon fodder character from Xianxia novels whose role is just to mock the main character and get beaten next on the chapter!"

"What nonsense are you saying, kid?!" The captain shouted though he didn't understand most of Kyle's words, but he understood the 'get beaten' just for that he got enraged.
He dashed toward Kyle with his huge physique, he was like an angry bull ready to penetrate his horn toward him.
The captain quickly arrived at Kyle's location, from the outsider's viewpoint they thought that he was scared to the point that he was unable to move.
But they were wrong, Kyle just didn't bother to move, as for why? Based on what he saw although this hulk-like captain is fast in the eyes of the other imperial guards, but to him, it was so slow.
"It's over for that kid!"
"He made the captain angry! He wouldn't get away without breaking a bone or two."
"I pity this kid!"
Their words were heard by Kyle, his face started to twitch he thought. 'Did I perhaps go into the wrong world? They are acting like those brain-dead people who do nothing but talk shit, whatever, let's end this, I'm getting annoyed.'
The captain started to swing his fist toward his face, he smirked and said. "It's too late to dodge!"
But before the captain could hit his face, suddenly he heard the bored tone coming from Kyle. "You got a grudge on my face or something? Also did I say anything about dodging?"
Stab!
At a speed that is impossible to see using the eyes of ordinary people, a dagger was penetrated deeply at the captain's fist, even his middle finger bone was cleanly cut due to the sharpness of the dagger.
"AHHHHHHHHHHH!! MY FUCKING HAND!" The captain shouted as loud as he could.
The imperial guards around had expected Kyle to get beaten up, however instead they saw the opposite: the imperial guards finally saw the dagger that was deeply penetrated into the captain's hand, seeing that they felt shivers down to their spine, the way their captain screamed it was very painful.
They looked different at Kyle now, and almost all of the old veteran imperial guards saw the image of Esdeath from him!
Because she did something similar to what just Kyle did, although much worse than what Kyle did!
All of the imperial guards who saw what Esdeath did back then felt afraid, they unconsciously touched their balls, just remembered it made them sweat.
If Kyle were to notice this, he might figure out what might have happened, but his focus currently is the screaming captain.
"So did I pass?"
"AHHHHHHHHHHH! My hand!" He kept screaming.
"Hey! I'm asking you, did I pass?!"
"AHHHHHHH!!!!"
Kyle got annoyed and immediately kicked the captain's face forcing him to shut up. "I'm asking you, did I pass?"
The captain nodded crazily as if he was afraid of displeasing him any further.
"Good, now I'm an official imperial guard right?"
"Y-yes." Said the captain, while suppressing the sharp pain from his hand.
"Okay, then I will take back my dagger."
"Wait! Wait!"
Kyle didn't listen and took away 'The Promise' from the captain's hand, the poor guy screamed in pain once more.
Ignoring him, Kyle went to the person who he paid with the signing fee. "You heard right? Now can I have my insignia?"
"E-eh ah, yes of course!" The imperial guard who was responsible for taking the signing fee started shivering as he gave Kyle his imperial guard insignia.
After taking the insignia, he glanced at the guy, he said. "Don't be scared, I don't bite and definitely not unreasonable, anyway thanks."
As he was about to leave suddenly, the imperial who gave him the insignia shouted. "Wait! You haven't been assigned to any unit yet, so please stay for a moment."
Kyle stopped his tracks and replied. "Sure."

Getting Hard (Journey of a Tank)
Herald Stone always built tank characters in every MMORPG he played. To be immortal—that was his first Goal, a simple childhood dream. However, the turbulent realities of life put an end to his gaming days. Years passed, and Herald Stone, now having attained success and stability, was presented with the opportunity to redeem himself...to fulfill his first Goal. Trivial? Childish? Others might think so. But Herald Stone always fulfilled his Goals—every single one. No matter what. Immortality beckoned in Mother Core Online, and this time Herald Stone would answer. Choosing a long-forgotten race, hidden away in an unknown region, the journey of an immortal tank begins. This is the tale of Herald Stone...getting hard. Schedule: Mon-Wed-Fri-Sat, 10am Central/ 3pm GMT. ~1.8k-2.3k words per chapter. Also published on Scribblehub. My other ongoing story: REND | Royal Road Expect a focus on building a true tank in MMORPGs. Heavy game elements and numbers are present. But actual math will take a backseat to strategies involving skill builds and synergies that steadily become more complex while remaining understandable. The main character is atypical in LitRPGs or web novels as a whole. He might take some getting used to. Character arcs will develop over a long period. What you see now will be different as the main character changes. The start of Getting Hard is slow-paced (more so than others of the genre) and includes world-building and character development before focusing on the LitRPG.
