《My Unconventional Delivery System! 》Chapter 14: Invisible Barrier

[ A Message From the Dragon of Demise - Kuro :- "So this is what you meant from before, this is rather convenient, even though it's strange, so anyway, I couldn't give you anything more than that, it's not that I don't want to give you more but other than my Tooth, the Physical Enchantment Magic and Spiritual Eye I have nothing else suitable for humans, forgive me for that. I do hope sincerely that we'd meet again soon, goodbye and thank you for the meal. ]
Kyle smiled bitterly at Kuro's message, it wasn't that he was unsatisfied. But, it would've been better if she didn't add that 'Spiritual Eye' into the mix.
Because this thing almost made him piss his pants, but he couldn't change what already happened, he could only hope that he would gradually get accustomed to seeing these spirits.
Which was most likely to be the spirits of dead people, afterwards Kyle walked out of the corner and went to the parking lot where he left his red scooter.
In the parking lot there were several people around, but thanks to his left eye he could see much more than that. The spirits of the dead were congested in the area, and he could see them all clearly.
Their appearances were different from ghost to ghost, some didn't have a head, some were missing parts of their limbs or limbs in their entirety, some didn't have a face and the list went on and on.
What similarity they all shared was that they were all very scary things to look at or visualize. And Kyle, the unfortunate victim of this particular sight, had to cope up with this and still take it normally lest he might be called a lunatic by the normal crowd.
Kyle drove his scooter towards his aunt's apartment, he wouldn't dare to sleep alone in his own apartment from now on.
While driving his way toward his aunt's apartment, God only knew just how many times he had to stop abruptly, thinking that he was gonna run over a person blocking his way.
But instead it turned out to be the spirits of dead people, he lost count of the times he had to stop, till he became certain that he didn't run over anyone and got used to this situation. Then he drove normally towards his aunt's apartment.

During this miserable journey he at least learnt the ability to distinguish between a spirit and a living person. It's really hard to notice but if you focus you'll be able to see that the spirits emitted a faint glow and their bodies were a bit translucent than the normal crowd, which ultimately helped him in identifying them.
As expected, he arrived at his aunt's apartment a lot later than usual, arriving before the apartment door he pressed his aunt's doorbell. Few seconds later his aunt opened the door and stared at Kyle with her dead eyes. They had a mini stare down in front of the apartment. Until, his aunt asked him curiously.
"Why are you here again? Didn't you say you'll be sleeping at your apartment tonight?"
"I changed my mind, let me sleep here again tonight."
Kobayashi San didn't inquire anymore and invited him inside. "Alright, come inside."
After Kyle went inside his aunt's apartment, his jaw dropped not because he saw ghosts or spirits or anything of the sort.
The reason for his shock was the countless amounts of weird rune-like drawings which were etched all over the walls, floors and the ceilings. These drawings were similar to the magic barrier formations he had seen in fantasy animes in his previous life.
But the difference here was that the rune drawings found in the apartment were much much more complicated. The problem here was the last time he was here he didn't see these markings. He looked at his aunt and pointed his finger toward the wall that had a magic barrier and asked.
"Aunt can you see anything there?"
Kobayashi San raised his right eye brows and spoke in confusion. "See what?"
Seeing her reaction, Kyle understood that ordinary people couldn't see these markings, and he certainly knew the culprit of this new development!
Who can it be other than Tohru?! She was the only one in this household who knew how to do magic, Kyle thought inwardly 'Wow, if I didn't receive this Spiritual Eye, I would've never known the existence of this magic barrier! Wait a minute, should I ask Tohru to perhaps seal my Spiritual Eye? She should have a way right, given just how powerful she truly is?'
After a series of contemplation on this matter, he decided to ask Tohru. He didn't want this power to affect his daily life, it'd be best if it's properly sealed till he's able to use it proficiently.

Kyle searched for Tohru in the apartment and saw her in the kitchen cooking... her tail...
For a solid minute Kyle was unable to utter any word, he was speechless, didn't they already have the discussion about their stance on not eating her tail? Why was she cooking it exactly?
"Tohru… why are you cooking your tail again?"
Tohru's body jolted when she heard Kyle's voice, she awkwardly looked at Kyle and was about to explain her reasoning when she noticed something different about Kyle.
She went near Kyle and started sniffing his body.
Kyle blushed at Tohru's actions and he couldn't help but ask, albeit he stuttered due to shame. "H-hey! Why are you sniffing me?! Do I smell weird?! It's rude to sniff someone so blatantly, you know..."
Tohru realized that she was being rude and blushed red in embarrassment, as she hastily replied. "I'm S-sorry, Kyle! I didn't mean to be rude!"
Then she turned away from Kyle but her expression turned serious and solemn as she muttered. "I smell the scent of another dragon… a higher dragon in fact, like my father, moreover it's a female... she's a threat to me!"
While Tohru was thinking about the 'threat' that suddenly entered her love life, Kyle spoke hesitantly. "Tohru! Can I ask you something?"
Tohru immediately stopped thinking about the 'threat' and turned around as she stared at Kyle.
"Yes? What is it?"
"Uhmm… are you the one who added those magical barriers around the apartment?"
His words were like thunder, drumming violently in Tohru's ears as she stutteringly asked. "H-h-h-how did you know?! No, more importantly, how are you able to see the barrier markings?!"
Kyle scratched his head awkwardly and answered. "Well, I didn't know about magic till today, honestly I'm not used to it, but the thing is I got this ability called Spiritual Eye and I could see things, that I thought no normal people could see! It's really bothering me and also hinders my daily life! Do you have a way to seal it?"
Hearing his explanation, Tohru was flabbergasted for for a moment but she replied anyway. "I do have a way to seal it, no more like it's a way to control it but for starters let me ask you something: how did you get this ability? You didn't have it before, otherwise I would've sensed the magical fluctuations, according to my knowledge there are three ways of getting this ability. First is being born with this ability, second is raising your mana capacity to the point that you'd be able to eventually unlock it; but you'll have to be compatible with this ability to do that, and the third one, which is most likely what happened to you, it's by receiving the ability as a blessing from a higher being. The Spiritual Eye is an innate ability and definitely can't be stolen!"
Kyle quickly thought of an excuse, and decided to speak the half-truth. "A close acquaintance of mine gave it to me."
He knew that Tohru had the ability to detect lies from speech, even the System didn't have the function of blocking this power. Anyway, she wouldn't be able.to detect anything since technically this was the truth. He thought of Kuro as an acquaintance.
Tohru didn't detect any lie from his words, however she also knew that he was hiding something from her! Her dragon intuition was tingling.
But she was unable to force him to answer her. Their relationship wasn't close enough for her to do that and forcing him may strain the relationship they were developing.
Tohru sighed in defeat, this wasn't the end, she would definitely ask him about this in the future! She was sure that a female dragon had set her sights on Kyle, but she won't let anyone take Kyle from her.
She was the Dragon of Chaos, the first of her kind, the dragon with the greatest potential in existence and she he marked Kyle as her potential mate the moment she realized that she loved him, a human, dearly. She would never let any love rivals come near Kyle. Kyle was hers and she was Kyle's. And she'll destroy everything and everyone that says otherwise!
"Alright, then. I'll teach you the method to control that Spiritual Eye of yours. So listen to my instructions carefully."

Reminders Spiritual Eye isn't a bit similar to Sharingan so don't expect the slow motion ability or similar.
But I guess it had to do with memory advancement and supernatural sight that could see something that ordinary people can't.

The Breath of Creation [DROPPED]
General Summary: Sometimes, the multiverse needs expanding. That's where I come in. But, unfortunately, being a deity isn't all fun and games (and is incredibly complicated), as there are always things working against you. Not even the God of the Multiverses can change that. Another Summary: Twelve souls were chosen to expand into the void surrounding the known universe(s), and were given a grace period in which they would experience a relatively safe expansion of their domains. Once that period is up, however, they are free to interact with each other...and what lurks in the depths of the Abyss, the Void, and the Primordial Chaos. I am one of those souls. And let me tell you, this shit ain't easy. Between trying to raise mortals into an immortal army, with which I can defend my domain, dealing with my children, and trying to maintain the balance between all realms of existance, I have my work cut out for me. Sigh. Now I know why, back on Earth, gods worked in mysterious, invisible ways. There's just too much to be done. Formerly called RE: Deity
