《My Unconventional Delivery System! 》Chapter 12: Restaurant 2
Advertisement
The Master was unsure about what to do, Kyle was the very first customer from his world to dine with the people of the other world, as normally the restaurant would be closed and the door would instead lead the otherworlders to come to his restaurant instead.
Since the establishment of this restaurant, not a single person from this world had eaten on the day of Satur or simply Saturday in modern day Japan.
"You're a special visit to this restaurant… no one from our world has ever eaten with the people from the other world excluding you… I'm not really sure… by the way did you come through the door that leads to the other world to come here?"
"Naturally! How else would I appear here today otherwise? I didn't come here forcefully or anything, as I've said it's complicated and I've arrived here with Kuro-san so she can confirm my claims."
The Master kept pondering for a moment, and finally came to a conclusion. "Alright, I'm not sure how you got to the other world, much less how you came through Kuro's door… but I'll make an exception and let you pay with Yen instead."
"Great! Then can I have a Cola and a Simmering Beef Stew?"
"Alright, please wait a moment." Thus this issue was easily solved, the master of this restaurant was a kind hearted, friendly individual, so the problem was solved quickly.
While waiting, he glanced at the people around and saw the sight of other humanoid races. Elf, half elves, Demi-Humans, Harpies, Fairies there were pretty much all the varieties he could think of here, dining with him! It was a picturesque display of otherworldly origins.
To him this was a rather magical moment, he was in awe to experience the company of such fantasy themed existences. All in all it was a very new, exciting and refreshing, experience for him.
There were also some Cat Demi-humans or Neloshous! Which weren't included in the original series. On the other side, he saw 2 beautiful women that stood out among the otherworldly crowd. Their beauty being on par with Esdeath, Kuro and Tohru.
The first woman with a dignified aura surrounding her, had long golden hair of bright gold, smooth and shiny and worn in a beautiful gathering of small braids connected in a larger one and cascading down her back and almost touching the floor from her sitting position. There were two distinct golden horns protruding from her hair and adorned her head like a tiara. On her body she had a golden battle dress that clung onto her curves tightly and showcased her shapely body full of mature charm. Her gaze gave a distinct feeling of freedom, to not be bound and wandering like the wind and the skies.

The other woman was endowed with extremely long earthy green hair, longer than the previous one. It was worn freely, flowing like a gentle breeze and nestled around her chair after reaching the floors, like the previous woman her hair looked soft and silky with a shiny luster. She had long, dangerously sharp pointy ears. It was even longer than the pure elf he witnessed moments ago. Her face was round and cute having the traditional japanese features of an anime character, the loveable ones to be precise, yet it also exuded her maturity and signified her deep wisdom as a being befitting her age. She was wearing a summer dress made entirely of pure green leaves, yet at a glance you could understand that the leaves were anything but ordinary and they shone with a jade luster that looked natural in the natural curves of the mature dragon. She was a bit more endowed in the breast department than the previous woman, but not overly so. She exuded a carefree aura which made you want to talk with her naturally, she had that attraction towards people which was the stark contrast with the golden haired woman.
Both of them radiated the aura and might, similar to that of the Dragon of Death, Kuro to whom Kyle had made her delivery to.
He realized that these two otherworldly beautiful women were of the same species as Kuro! Meaning they both were members of the 7 great Dragons!
These two beautiful women, although mentioned, didn't get any on screen time on the anime.
Kyle wondered inwardly 'Are they perhaps Gold and Green, the ones Kuro explained in her introductory episode in the anime?'
This was an absolutely amazing development, meeting characters which weren't part of the original anime was a pleasant occurrence. No one other than him had this privilege!
Although he was very interested in the two beautiful woman, he wasn't idiotic enough to keep staring at them more than the time it took a normal glance. It was generally rude to ogle at someone like that.
Being characters that didn't get any screen time he didn't know their personalities. He might seriously offend them if he kept looking at them like that, he was absolutely certain these dragons were completely capable of killing him even with his defensive enchantment, the MgRonald Jacket, equipped.
Few moments of fidgeting with his phone ensued afterwards, when finally, his order arrived and Aletta served him the Cola and the Stew.

Kyle used the spoon and took a large spoonful of serving from the aromatic stew and stuffed it in his mouth. He chewed it slowly, relishing the taste and eating as slowly as he could, after all it cost him a lot of money. His heart ached at that thought.
His heart ached so much that he couldn't even hold back his tears, actually it was fine if he didn't order anything but it would have been rather rude to the master of this place if he did that. He didn't want to do that and maintain a good relationship with him.
Kyle was certain that he would have to freeload in his aunt's apartment for a few days, well until his wages arrived at least, he may even need to permanently shift to her apartment if it got significantly bad, expense wise.
Seeing him cry made everyone who saw him have a misunderstanding. They thought that he was crying because of the deliciousness of the food like some of them did after their first arrival at this restaurant. Little did they know that they were gravely wrong. He was mainly crying because eating this meal made him unable to eat anything on his own expenses for several days. The cost was that much staggering!
After exactly an hour of slow, torturously so, eating later, he finished eating and drinking his meal and drink, and thought 'It's time for me to go back…'
He called the Master of this place to pay for his meal.
Suddenly, the master stopped him from paying and spoke with a smile.. "You don't need to pay, it's on me today. Seeing you enjoy my dish so much made me happy so I'll make an exception for you and make it free for today."
Kyle froze for a moment and then smiled bitterly as he heard him and thought 'He misunderstood me… but whatever! Let this misunderstanding continue! All that matters is that I don't need to pay! Yehey!'
He was secretly very happy inside, he just had a high class meal, absolutely free!
"Really? Thanks! I'll come again then! Maybe I'll just come with the our world version door next."
"Alright, but next time you'll have to pay."
"Sure, that's the plan." Kyle stood up from his seat and looked at Kuro standing near the master in a subservient fashion, he added.
"Kuro-san, I'll be going first. It was truly nice meeting with you."
"Me too, please come back again." Kuro stared at Kyle for a long time, and finally bowed slightly and uttered a reply.
This action of Kuro caught the attention of Gold and Green, they could feel that Kuro was very interested in this human wearing weird red clothes.
They decided that they would ask Kuro about this later, after they finished their delicious meal.
..
..
..
Outside the door, In the Moon like planet :-
Kyle was back on the moon, and this time he asked. "System, how can I breath in space?"
[ It's because of me, Host as long as you have me you can breathe anywhere as long as it's a place in the other worlds. ]
"That's how it works? It's simpler than I thought."
Kyle scratched his head, looked around some more and added. "Hey system, can I go back now?"
[ Alright, you were originally supposed to come back after the black dragon Kuro finished her shift, but since you requested to go back I will naturally have to listen to your request. ]
[ Ding! You have Completed your delivery order! ]
[ You have 10 seconds to get ready to go back in your world please drive your scooter for 100 meters straight! If you don't you'll be staying in this world forever. ]
Kyle immediately drove his scooter at full speed and went straight as instructed.
Then a black hole, appeared at the front of Kyle's scooter sucking him entirely and then disappeared leaving behind the moon like planet in utter silence and loneliness.
( `END` )
If you're asking why his scooter didn't float as it moved in the moon, well let's say it's because of the system.
It is illogical so don't ask for more lol.

Sword System Academia
2/17 NOTICE: I'm putting this on hiatus, possibly permanently. I didn't want to spam with an "update chapter", so hopefully here and in the story blurb will get enough eyeballs. There are a couple reasons for ending SSA for now. 1) I wrote the next chapter but wasn't happy with it. I've been less and less satisfied with SSA's quality the more I thought about it. Part of the reason is... 2) I am seriously thinking about trying to publish some novels to help pay the bills, since I don't have my other source of income anymore. I have never asked for anything from SSA readers, no money, not even a review or rating. SSA is written for fun to amuse myself, primarily, and I would kind of feel bad actually charging someone money for something as unserious as that. I don't think it is good enough to ask anything in return. To use an analogy from music, SSA is more like a jam session with a bunch of friends. You're just chiling and having fun playing some music. I mean, if you are Mozart or even Eminem, your jam session is good enough to sell, but for an amateur beginner like myself, haha, no. If I want to publish something, I feel like I need to go the proper route of practice and rehearsals, which might be more similar to a classical concert performance. With SSA, I work from worldbuilding notes and a loose outline, but what you are essentially getting is the first draft with lots of so-called pantsing. Pushing out a web novel like this also means it is very difficult to go back and improve things without breaking everything else downstream. I wanted to try this "jamming" approach, as it was a good way to teach me about another aspect of writing, but to move forward, I think I need to hone my "classical" techniques, which emphasize rewriting, or at least, revising outlines. 3) While I intend to try to make $$$, my actual current goal is to "get gud". I've spent a lot of time recently trying to understand the self-publishing industry, and I'm pretty sure I can make some money by using short-term strategies with my current amateur skill level. But I've seen too many authors come and go/burnout, and really, the only way that I think I can enjoy writing and still make money on a long-term basis is to become a better writer. And the next step for me, which I haven't done much before, is to spend more time on rewriting and outlines. That is pretty much antithetical to the way SSA is developing. I've always been kind of 20/80 plotting/pantsing, but I want to spend a lot more time outlining before I even start writing. SSA jam sessions don't really fit my goal anymore. If you're curious about what's next, read on... Among other regrets, I regret not finishing SSA. It's the first story I've dropped, but then again, it's the first web novel I've attempted, so I suppose that's not a surprise. I don't think traditional web novel formats suit me that well. The whole SSA story I had loosely planned (beyond a first book or major arc) is way too large as well. Big story = good for neverending webnovel with Patreons, bad for penniless and fickle writer like me. I am currently outlining a complete trilogy to another story in great detail. I want the story to end concisely, and I also want the chance to really spend a lot of time on the full outline to spot pacing problems, character issues, lost themes, and so on. I'll still share this story on RR. What I intend to do is finish book 1, flash-publish the whole thing here for a few weeks, then publish on the big Zon. Repeat for books 2 and 3. The upcoming story will be about crafting heroes. The backdrop is an isekai-like setting, where elves will summon humans to their world as heroes, but the whole hero crafting business is still in its infancy. The elven mage researchers are figuring out how to imbue heroes with power, while the heroes are trying to figure out how to use the powers that they gain. Humans are the best hero templates because they are blank and have no intrinsic magic. Or at least that what the elves thought. The human MC has his own secrets... There will be some similarities with litrpgs, but I would call it more a progression fantasy or gamelit story. For example, the stats are very low, at least initially. Say we have a stat called Str. Going from Str = 1 to Str = 2 is a huge deal. Also, going from Dex = 0 to Dex = 1 is an even bigger deal. I guess you could call it a "low-stat litrpg", haha. Also, the heroes won't be gaining stats simply by killing things or leveling up. You can't increase stats arbitrarily, either. There will be rules to how stats can increase, and how they work with each other. The elven mages will be figuring out these rules in order to craft stronger and stronger heroes. Some inspiration will be from cultivation magic systems, but there won't be overt cultivation, at least for now. A theme I really want to explore is the idea of interactions. That includes things like hero crafter vs hero, tactics vs strategy, skill synergies, racial interactions (dwarves, elves, etc), and son. Yeah, so hero crafting. I'm super excited about this project and venturing into publishing. If you want to check out the upcoming story, you can follow my RR author profile to see when it drops here. Finally... THANK YOU TO EVERYONE! I'm very sorry that SSA is stopping, but I hope at least some of you will find the next story at least as enjoyable, if not more. Thanks to all the readers who gave SSA a shot. Big hug or solid fistbump to all of you, whichever you prefer! I hope this message is not a downer but an upper, because I am psyched!! -purlcray -------------- BLURB: Talen, youngest Master of the Koroi, makes his way to the Empire's capital to salvage his clan's fate. But the bustling city has few opportunities for the traditionalist. For the old sword clans are fading. With the rise of alchemy, gold can purchase strength that ordinarily took years of training to cultivate. Sword artists, once rare and accomplished, are quickly growing in number, especially among the wealthy noble class. Even with such alchemy, though, no one has advanced to the rank of Grandmaster in countless years. Talen's true dream is to walk the path of a sword artist to the very end while fulfilling his clan duties. And then the Swordgeists return, fabled founders of all sword arts, gods who had touched the world long ago and vanished. These myths turned into reality warn of a coming threat. Alongside this warning, they issue an invitation to the Sword System Academy, a path to power beyond the mortal realm. But first, they will hold an entrance exam... Story notes:Sword System Academia blends elements of western and asian fantasy such as xianxia and litrpg. I took parts from different genres I enjoyed and twisted them into my own creation. There will be an explicit system, both of the litrpg kind and the hard(ish) magic kind, but it is embedded within an academic structure that will develop over the course of the story. This is my attempt to design a unique type of system, the System Academia.
