《Seaborn 》Chapter Update 2021

Happy New Year!
I’m back! Well, quasi-back. Here’s an update:
I’m settling into a new home and a new job position. I *AM* taking the time to start writing Seaborn again, though! The thing with that is due to the aforementioned new home/job my writing time is sporadic, and will be for the foreseeable future. I’ve written two new chapters that I’ve released on Patreon – that was a ‘thank-you’ to the awesome list of crazy people who stuck around on Patreon for the months I was away with no content just to support me. Those guys are amazing!
If you want to check Patreon out for those chapters, I have a $2 tier.
I plan to do as I’ve always done in giving my Patrons my chapters as I write them. (Full disclosure: I don’t know what that’s going to look like in the next few weeks.) When I have a better handle on my schedule and work/life balance, I’ll give everyone further updates. The current plan is to restart the 1/week RR chapter release when I have a few Patreon chapters backlogged. My guesstimate on that timeframe is to expect chapters to show up starting mid-February.
I felt that over the “Tulisang training arc” that the story got off track, and it seems that a number of you all agree. A lot of you also noted that the last few chapters released felt rushed, to which I freely admit they were. I anticipated being gone for an extended period and wanted to get to a stopping point (the cliffhanger you all suffered wasn’t even my original stopping point – imagine how much worse you could have had it if I wasn’t cramming late-night writing sessions! Bwahaha!) and in that rush I made rushed errors.
I want to fix writing problems like this going forward. I think Domenic’s getting back on track, and he’s dragging me with him. I’ve also learned some valuable writing lessons about the pace of a story and how to (or not to) flesh out exposition. This story has always been practice for me, and I’m glad to have learned some things. That being said, I appreciate your patience as I work through future amateur errors!

Flight of Icarus
Most stories are about accidental heroes, people who save the world without even meaning to, but not this one. There was once a person with a name Kirin. He was tired of people looking at him with admiration and trying to win his favour. He hated them for making him act nicely all the time and testing his patience every day. So, when he finally got the newly come out game called Regal Dream, he entered without a dream to become the strongest of them all. He didn't want a legend shared with many. He wanted one of his own.
8 104Venos: exploring the city life
Venos is a, 15th century, girl and she is also, a part of a (fictional) minority. Since her birth, she was cursed to bear another personality, another voice, inside of her; but aside from all that, she is still a child seeking a pleasant childhood and the only way to accomplish that is to distant herself from her conservative village, by enrolling into an academy far away, in a city. Follow Venos' journey, as she slowly explores the bizarre, cruel and exciting city life. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]
8 111Temporal Deities
In the far future, humanity has spread to new worlds. While spaceships are used to travel to these different worlds, they aren't new planets, but different versions of Earth. Bifrostal vessels are able to travel through space and reality itself. In this new era, several super-corporations emerge and expand rapidly in power and reach. Named after deities of old, they are the true rulers of the three temporal galaxies. Haloke Shanendoah is a lone warrior who has dedicated herself to the increasingly vain quest of finding her lost brother. Her journey brings her to the planet Tefnut where she encounters a corporate spy, Naak. Naak is a secret agent who operates in the perpetual war between the corporations. He thrives in the arena of secrets and craves power and control. Together, they'll try to discover what they stand for in a universe that seems to grow ever bleaker.
8 151Dismissing Darkness
Out amidst the stars, far past the point Earth appears as a pale blue dot, a human spacecraft plunges forth towards new and exciting worlds. The passengers know they are never going home, not after the lengthy journey ahead of, and to a lesser extent behind them. They while away their time frozen in body and plugged into a simulation in mind waiting for a new planet to explore and colonize. Still, space is a place large enough for a surprise or two as our protagonist, the underqualified Mike Jackson (no relation) is soon to find out. ~~~ I will be posting chapters here and on my wordpress blog-thing, hopefully within minutes of each other multiple times a week. Currently on hiatus. If I get back to writing this one, it will be after I tweak it to make it feel less like an empty world with too many extras in the background.
