《Me! Zombie! Summoned to Another World!》Chapter 17: Acquired Bone Spirit Holly and Mace!

Hearing this voice, all the Lesser Night Demons stopped and looked at the forest behind them.
Even the Knight King, who had been massacring the Lesser Night Demons with his two swords, stopped what he was doing and looked at the entrance of the forest.
It was as if he had sensed the aura of a powerful enemy.
"Ah Ah Ah Ah—"
As the strange cries drew closer and closer, I knew that whatever was inside was about to come out.
Under everyone's gaze, a Lesser Night Demon that was larger than any other Lesser Night Demon finally appeared.
If Knight King were to be compared to an ordinary Lesser Night Demon, they would be like a lion and a honey badger standing together. The difference was huge.
However, the newly appeared Lesser Night Demon standing next to the Knight King was like a lion and a hyena. There was a gap, but it already had the strength to fight.
And unlike an ordinary Lesser Night Demon that only had a monotonous gray color, this new Lesser Night Demon had a touch of red on its body.
The red color surrounding its body, like a circle of flames.
It was even holding a weapon in its hand, a mace.
It was a Lesser Night Demon Warrior!
Every time the population of the Lesser Night Demons exceeded a hundred, a strong warrior would appear.
When the Knight King saw the sudden appearance of the Lesser Night Demon Warrior, he raised the two swords in his hands.
He shook them a few times, shaking off the blood of the Lesser Night Demons on them.
He then looked at the Lesser Night Demon Warrior, raised his two swords, and assumed the standard posture of a knight facing an enemy.
The two of them began to stare at each other with their eyes.
"AH—"
"Roar—"
Both sides suddenly shouted at the same time and began to charge forward.
The Knight King charged with all his strength, pointing his two swords at the opponent in front of him.
The Lesser Night Demon Warrior, on the other hand, dragged the mace in his hand and began to pick up his pace.

"Clang—"
Their two weapons finally collided, creating a crisp sound.
Because of the great force of impact from both sides, the Knight King's two swords broke and flew out.
On the other side, the Lesser Night Demon Warrior was also having a hard time as the mace in his hand was also knocked away.
Both sides had lost their weapons.
However, neither side chose to retreat. They began to fight with their bare hands instead."Bong—"
You give me a punch, and I'll give you a kick.
It was as if they were evenly matched.
However, while they were exchanging blows, the Lesser Night Demon Warrior made a mistake. He chose to kick the Knight King's abdomen, but the Knight King caught the opening.
The Knight King grabbed the Lesser Night Demon Warrior's leg with his palm-leaf fan-sized hand.
He hit the ground hard, then pressed the Lesser Night Demon Warrior down the ground.
"Dong—"
This was then followed by a muffled sound.
The Knight King wasn't going to let him off. He grabbed the Lesser Night Demon Warrior's legs tightly and began to drag him along.
After dragging him for about a hundred meters, he lifted the Lesser Night Demon Warrior in his hands and smashed him into one of the trees.
"Dong—"
The Lesser Night Demon Warrior was ruthlessly smashed into the tree, falling down only after a few seconds had passed.
However, to my surprise, the Lesser Night Demon Warrior didn't die!
Instead, he staggered to his feet.
However, one of his legs was slightly raised, looking like it had been fractured.
"AH—"
This time, the Lesser Night Demon Warrior didn't choose to charge forward again; he instead screamed at the pack.
Just as I was still trying to guess what he was screaming about, I saw that the Lesser Night Demons, who had been standing and watching on the side, started to move again.
They charged at the Knight King once more.
Seeing that his clansmen had surrounded the enemy, the Lesser Night Demon Warrior started to crouch on the ground, running around the Knight King on his hands and feet.

It seemed like he was waiting for an opportunity to mount a sneak attack on the Knight King.
After the Knight King had lost his two swords, he faced hundreds of Lesser Night Demons and, like a pattern, began to throw and slap them using both hands.
He slapped every Lesser Night Demon who ran to his side away like he was swatting a fly.
However, the Knight King only had two hands on his body, so it wasn't long before his body was crawling with Lesser Night Demons.
The Lesser Night Demon Warrior watched from the side, and when he saw a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, he immediately rushed forward.
But I, who was hiding at the side, saw his actions clearly.
Seeing the Night Demon Warrior quickly approaching the Knightly King's side, I immediately gave an order to my undead.
Suddenly, I saw that the Knight King extended a hand while being heavily surrounded.
And the Night Demon Warrior, who was about to launch a sneak attack, was grabbed.
Tightly clutching the other uninjured leg of the Night Demon Warrior, he spun him around like a weapon.
He sent all the Lesser Night Demons hanging on the Knight King flying.
This time, even after all the remaining Lesser Night Demons were killed, I didn't let the Knight King let go of their leader.
When he walked to the tree, the Knight King just grabbed the head of the Lesser Night Demon Warrior and smashed it.
"Duang Fu Duang—"
With just a few hits, he had smashed the head into pieces. Thencasually, he threw the body of the Lesser Night Demon Warrior down.
Seeing that the Knight King had finished off all the enemies, I walked out from my hiding place.
Walking to the center of the Lesser Night Demon clan's territory, I finally saw the target of this trip.
It was a tree that barely had any leaves on it.
The branches of the tree were gnarled and its bark was pale white, as if it was made up of animal bones.
I walked forward and used my hand to feel it carefully.
I confirmed that this was the 'Dead Wood' that I was looking for, the Bone Spirit Holly.
I gave an order to the Knight King beside me to pull out this tree along with its roots.
Although I definitely wouldn't be able to use up this tree this time, I couldn't guarantee that I would not need it again in the future.
A round trip of more than sixty miles was too inconvenient.
I might as well just move it back all at once and plant it in front of my house.
Seeing the Knight King carrying this Bone Spirit Holly, I nodded in satisfaction.
Walking to the entrance of the forest, I sat on the Knight King's back and prepared to leave immediately.
However, I suddenly thought of another problem and hurriedly made the Knight King, who was about to accelerate, stop.
I jumped down from the Knight King's body and walked to the tree where the Lesser Night Demon Warrior had died.
I stretched out my hand and knocked on it.
"Dang dang dang—"
It actually produced a sound that was similar to that of iron and stone.
"It really is an iron birch tree. No wonder even the Knight King couldn't destroy it," I muttered softly.
The iron birch tree was the hardest tree species in the world. It was even harder than some steel.
Looking at the iron birch tree in front of me, I thought about how I should use it.
Suddenly, I recalled how the Knight King had used the Night Demon Warrior as a weapon before. That unrivaled appearance.
Mace!
My first reaction was to use a mace.
A heavy-armored knight like the Knight King should use a heavy weapon like a mace!
Originally, I had only wanted to obtain the materials to make a magic wand. I didn't expect to accidentally obtain a weapon embryo that was suitable for the Knight King.

No matter what, their choices will bring forth a new era for Mendala. ------------------------------ If you love vast fantasy worlds, rich, fleshed-out characters, and a adventure where your'e constantly discovering new things along the way, then this is definitely a story you'll enjoy. This is a slow-burn high fantasy / adventure with many characters and intersecting plotlines. It’s a quest so lots of adventuring, exploring, and character moments, but not a ton of fighting/action (though there are definitely some great fight scenes as payoff to the buildup). Because it’s a fantasy world with lots of people and new concepts, I try to make it easy so that you don’t have to memorize anything. The narrative will constantly remind you of important people/places/concepts as you keep moving forward. Some things won’t be fully explained right at the beginning to avoid information overload. My goal is that the reader will learn things organically as the story progresses. I use two mechanisms to help with the intersecting plotlines. - Each chapter is named for the (main) plotline it’s following and which part. - At the beginning of the chapter, and anytime there is a scene shift, the location is listed. Also, though this is definitely a portal-fantasy (isekai) it’s different from the standard isekai, especially since the world transfer doesn’t happen immediately. It’s not Lit-RPG but characters gain powers and grow over time. Also, it’s a group of teens that transfer, not just one central character. All of the teens are distinct characters, with their own character-arcs, relationships, powers, growth etc. Hopefully you’ll find this interesting as you’ll see the world and story from multiple perspectives. The story is always in 3rd Person (Omniscient) POV so that it’s not jarring as perspectives shift.
