《Me! Zombie! Summoned to Another World!》Chapter 16: Bone Spirit Holly and Little Night Demon

A characteristic of a Lich's assistant was that it could release magic, perfectly matching the condition of Regulus' body.
Among my undead, I now have a warrior with an almost perfect speed, strength, and defense, the Knight King.
Add that to a guy who could deal long-range attacks and release magic.
My undead could form a relatively perfect team.
It's just that there was still a problem in transforming Regulus into a Lich's assistant.
The weapon and the item that would provide it magic power.
The weapon of a Lich's assistant was just a simple wand.
However, Regulus' old wand was no longer usable.
This was because the Great Ollivander had once said.
[ The wand chooses its owner, it is not the person who chooses the wand! ]
Regulus had already turned into an undead, so he could no longer use his previous wand.
He needed a new wand—a new wand that would match his zombie power.
A wand that was filled with death and negative energy from the body to the core of the wand.
As for the creation of the wand, it was very simple.
[ Necromancer, Research Notes ] had records on it.
Necromancers were notorious in the continent for manipulating corpses and spirits of the dead. In addition, they were on bad terms with large organizations like the Church of Light. Therefore, no wand shop was willing to take the risk of making wands for Necromancers.
No one was willing to help Necromancers make wands, but they couldn't not use wands.
Over time, Necromancers figured out the craft of making wands on their own.
Although I had never made a magic wand before, I had the complete process. I was confident that as long as I had enough materials, I would be able to succeed.
When that time comes, I could also make a magic wand for myself!
Since I had already thought of the modification plan for Regulus, I had to carry it out immediately.
The first step of the modification plan was finding materials needed to make a magic wand. The materials needed for a wand were divided into the body and the core of the wand. Both required materials with good magical properties.

Since Regulus was already 'dead', the wand required materials with the power of death before it could be used.
And there weren't many materials nearby that contained the power of death.
I began to search through Regulus' memories...
'Finally, I found a place where the 'Dead Wood' was growing.
More than sixty miles northwest of the hut, there was an area where the Bone Spirit Holly plant was growing.
Unlike ordinary Holly trees, the Bone Spirit Holly was unusually tall and strong.
Its bark was as white as bone, its branches were gnarly, and there were not many leaves on the tree. It looked like it was formed from many intersecting bones.
It was rumored that the Bone Spirit Holly used animal bones as nutrients. It was indeed the 'Dead Wood'.
But the place where the Bone Spirit Holly was growing was a bit troublesome.
It was growing right in the middle of a Lesser Night Demon's territory.
To get a Bone Spirit Holly, one had to pass through the Lesser Night Demons.
The Lesser Night Demon are nocturnal and bipedal animals that looked similar to a monkey. And the famous magical species, the Fairies, are their close relatives. But unlike their peace-loving relatives, they are very evil and bloodthirsty.
A population of Lesser Night Demons has at least ten to a hundred Lesser Night Demons. They always act as a group when faced with danger, surrounding and swarming the enemy.
Not only are they agile, but they also have a mouthful of sharp teeth. They hate everything that is alive and are used to killing all living animals that they see.'
After seeing this from Regulus' memories, I frowned. I was a little worried that these Lesser Night Demons might be too dangerous.
But when I thought about the powerful defense of my undead Knight King, my worries and anxiety eased up.
Sharp teeth? I didn't need to worry about that at all. No matter how sharp their teeth were, they wouldn't be able to bite through the Knight King's defense.
For an animal like the Lesser Night Demon, other than having the advantage in numbers, the rest was not worth mentioning.

A large number of people?
Then I'll add two swords to the Knight King...
Kill as many as they come!
After thinking this through, I looked at the sky outside the small house.
It was still early. There were still about four to five hours before dark.
I will ride the Knight King for a two-hour round trip. In the remaining time, I can even eat a meal and soak in a sauna.
After grabbing my weapons, the Knight King and I immediately headed northwest.
...
After about an hour of traveling, the Knight King and I passed through a few forests and lakes.
We finally arrived at the forest where the Lesser Night Demons lived.
"Puchi—"
The Knight King underneath me snorted, his eyes staring fixedly at the forest.
It was as if the woods were concealing something dangerous.
Seeing the Knight King acting as if he was facing a great enemy, I hurriedly flipped over.
I handed the two weapons in my hands to the Knight King, then I took the remaining bow and arrows in my hands and found a place to hide.
I didn't need to personally take action in such a battle. It was enough for my number one undead underling, the Knight King, to take action.
After giving the Knight King the order to attack, I didn't allow it to immediately charge into the forest. The space in the forest was too small, and it wasn't suitable for a 'heavy warrior' like the Knight King to display his abilities.
"Clang, Clang, Clang—"
Commanding the Knight King in my heart, I picked up the swords in my hands and knocked them lightly against each other a few times.
I then stood on the spot, waiting for the Lesser Night Demons to make an appearance.
As expected, less than three seconds after the knocking sound, the originally dark forest started lighting up with streaks of red light.
And soon after, a large group of grayish-black 'fairies' appeared.
"Ah Fu Ah—"
Seeing the menacing Knight King, the Lesser Night Demon who appeared first began to call for friends, calling out their family members over.
"One, two... nineteen... seventy-six..."
I, who was hiding in the dark, silently counted the number of this clan.
After counting to more than a hundred, I discovered that there were still new Lesser Night Demons appearing in this forest.
I thought to myself, 'Not good!'
I knew that I had met a tough opponent this time. It seemed that this clan of Lesser Night Demons wasn't small in scale. It was even possible that an elite monster like a Night Demon Warrior would appear.
When I finally counted close to two hundred, no new Lesser Night Demons appeared in the forest. As for the Night Demon Warriors that I was worried about, they didn't appear either.
"AH—"
Finally, all the troops of the Night Demons group had arrived.
Right after someone screamed an order from somewhere,, all the Lesser Night Demons began to charge.
Seeing his opponent charge, the Knight King began to move, charging toward the Lesser Night Demons.
Although the Knight King was alone compared to the Lesser Night Demon population, which numbered close to two hundred, it seemed to me that the Knight King, who was wielding two swords, had the aura of an army of thousands.
One person could become an army!
"Boom—"
After a few seconds, the two sides finally collided.
However, the dual sword-wielding Knight King was like a hot knife cutting through butter, quickly finishing off all the enemies in front of him.
Brandishing his left and right hands at the same time, he slashed left and right. Almost every slash could take the life of a Night Demon.
Soon, the number of Lesser Night Demons had decreased by a third.
"AH—"
Just when I thought that my goal for today was about to be achieved, a strange cry came from the forest.

I remember having to print it out on an old ribbon printer to submit it to publishers - this was back before esubs were the norm! It never got picked up and I ended up self publishing it. I hope you enjoy.

This is a story of a guy who one day comes home to find a program installed on his pc. He quickly learns that the program is just a game called godling that just showed up out of no where. Fair warning to all of you; I am not perfect, in fact i'm not even that good when it comes to writing. I do it mainly because I enjoy it, I always love writing stories and sometimes I will post it like I will with this one. My grammar could be better and my writing skills are so and so. I hope that by continuing to write I will grow as a writter so I would really appreciate it if you could point out my mistakes so that I can learn from them. This story will be pretty laid back as I suck at action, but that doesn't mean I won't try to add any. Release schedule is 2-4 chapters a month with each chapter about 1000 words give or take.
