《V.I.R.A.L 》Chapter 125: Fragile Minds Part 2

"It seems you don't understand how the world works. The strong live while the weak die forgotten. I am almighty and powerful. It is my quest to prove I'm the strongest. So come, show me what the heroes of Team Rhapsody have to offer. You will all succumb to my reality." EOR taunted floating in the air emitting the toxic matter as illusions began forming.
Alton gripped his fist tightly shattering the ice from his hand. "This guy am I right? What say you Zinnia? Fancy teaming up for this."
"You know me. I don't know when to back out from a fight!"
EOR flooded an illusion of fire at the two. Both covered their faces from the blinding fire, and although no damage was physically taken, both felt the burns boiled on as the pain was still there. "Just because my illusions are fake doesn't mean the pain is. How long can you last before your body shuts down to the pain?!"
Alton blasted a shutter of ice flooding the area. EOR floated higher up just missing the tip of the shards. This wasn't the only attack to come his way as Zinnia shattered the ice with a bolt of lightning behind her. Staring up, she flung herself up meeting EOR head-on. He glanced at her smirking as a truck came out of nowhere and smashed Zinnia into the wall before vanishing. Picking herself up, she suddenly dodged from hindsight as spikes ripped from the floor. As she was landing the floor caved in as lava flooded out. With a sudden reaction, Alton constructed an iceberg which caught Zinnia as she slid down, falling to the floor. "How are we meant to hit this guy if we can't even get in close."
"We don't have to get in close. We just have to corner him. How's that electricity working?"
"I don't have electricity powers, Alton! I can manipulate the weather to cast down lightning bolts."
"Good enough… On my signal, you strike him." Alton ripped his hands back as ice walls erupted surrounding EOR, blocking his every escape. With nowhere to go, Alton tried his best to hold the walls together. "Now, Zinnia!"
Zinnia held her hand up as the clouds began to crackle and spark. A gigantic bolt of lightning rippled down striking Eyes Over Reality. The area was blinded by a bright light as Alton covered his face looking back finding him gone. He flinched, hearing a laugh behind him. "Are we having fun yet? Shall we see what over demons you have hidden away?" EOR placed his hand on the back of Alton's head as his pupils dilated as his whole body was sucked into the abyss and under EOR's illusions.

Zinnia propelled past curling her fist forward, making an impact as a flurry of sharp flashes of light erupted before the area exploded. As the dust settled, Zinnia was stuck finding herself trapped by the cloud of matter as it began consuming her whole. EOR walked away, holding his hand up as serval spikes appeared ready to crush Zinnia. Channelling all the electricity, she blasted herself with the lightning bolt as she broke free-flying forward. EOR flew out of the way striking with a set of imaginary bullets. Zinnia spun backwards dodging past each one before skipping through the air as her body vanished reappearing with a thunderous bang as she was behind EOR. Twisting her leg around, she kicked him, sending him back as his illusion shattered. He reappeared, looking weaker, holding his head snapping out of his concussion. Zinnia noticed this as she started picking up the pieces to the puzzle. Rubbing her hands together, generating energy, she clapped them both together shooting a rod of electricity at him. It struck breaking that illusion. All the others began to deteriorate as EOR clenched his chest panting. Zinnia began charging forward ready to keep her streak going only for a gush of fire to blast her. She rolled out of the way, taking the full heat on, but as she expected it didn't hurt nearly as much as she expected. "What's wrong, Henry? Where's all that power you claimed to have?"
EOR snarled floating, holding his hand up as a giant serpent was summoned curling around the stadium prowling and waiting to strike against Zinnia. "I have enough to put you in the ground weakling. If not from me your friend will finish the job."
Zinnia turned seeing Alton freezing over fighting the illusions. She bit her lip looking concerned. "Alton… Fight it…"
****
Alton stood in an endless corridor. The entrance was cut off with Alton's only option was to move on. The passage was void of colour being lifeless and cold to the touch. With each step, he took Alton felt slower and weak. Glancing down, he saw his body freezing over stopping his movements ever so slowly. His heart started racing as panic sunk in as he kept trying to move fleeing the illusion. After a short while, his body stopped as he was frozen solid unable to move. All the lights went out, leaving Alton in the dark. Although he couldn't see anything, he heard footsteps getting closer. He couldn't move or speak. His eyes fixated on the noise as his heartbeat slowed down to a halt. The light flickered back on as in the not so far distance stood a man. A man with long wavy white hair and crystal blue eyes. He was topless with scars and tattoos all over. Alton was in a state of pure fear as the man kept walking closer and closer before standing just before Alton. He stared at him with a provoking smile. "After all this time. I've finally found you." He gripped his cheeks with a chuckle. "The monster will finally be put to rest."

Alton began breaking down as his whole body froze over before it began shattering. The man stepped back as the ice cracked as Alton fell to the ground. He was lying on the ground lifeless before his head lifted up slowly revealing his eyes were a bright yellow as he screamed out. "No!"

EOR watched on before his eyes widen as Alton vanished standing behind him, his eyes glowing yellow. However, his appearance was still clinging on for his own personality. Before EOR could react, his whole body was frozen, stopping his movement entirely. Zinnia snapped to action appearing under EOR before uppercutting him shattering the ice making the final illusion fade. With the fake reality destroyed the real Eyes Over Reality collapsing to the ground gasping bleeding through his nose. Zinnia stared at Alton idly paranoid as he shook his head, turning to her with his standard eye colour. "Are you still in there?"
"Just about… Almost lost control for a moment there. Ha…"
Both streamers turned their gaze to EOR who was lying on his back, laughing. "What feat of power. How truly mind-blowing. You two are unstoppable. Encore! Encore!"
Alton gritted his teeth, picking him up snapping. "Will you pack it in already!"
"Henry Truman. Just like your sister, it's over."
"So, you've had the pleasure of meeting my sister, huh? I haven't seen her in years, how is the little devil?"
"She tried to kill me." Zinnia said.
"Well, that's nothing new. Of course, she failed, though. Her illusions are nothing compared to me."
Alton threw him against the wall hissing. "Still not enough to bring us down. Now I'm going to ask you a few questions. Who hired you? How the hell did you get us out here of all places?! Who wants me dead?"
EOR leaned forward coughing with a continued dwindled laugh. "You want to know? I'll happily tell you. I had no intention of killing you. No matter what my client offered, I couldn't quite frankly care."
"If you didn't want to kill us, why did you take the job?" Zinnia questioned.
"Because it seemed fun."
Alton began losing his temper throwing EOR again this time spawning an icicle holding it against his neck. "Answer me!"
"I am answering you, Brantley. Because you already know the answers. They have been staring at you all this time."
"This is a waste of time! This joker won't speak."
"I'm a jester actually big difference… Sorry. Say how about we start again? I have a few tricks up my sleeve still to dish out? Nay?"
"We're done with your games, Henry."
EOR sighed, looking disappointed. "Very well. I suppose I've overstayed my welcome. It was fun though, for winning my game here is your prize." He held up the crown. The winning ticket for the wish they were all promised. "I hope this makes up from the… Inconveniences."
Alton threw the Jester to the ground holding the crown in his hands captivated by it. "This is it. What we all were working for."
"One wish… But the question lies." Zinnia muttered.
Alton glanced at her and the others biting his lip. "Who gets to make that wish…"
