《Secrets of the Universe 》Chapter 217: Mind Jump

"Do you still wanna do it?"
The duo sat on Kaleyx's bed as they tried to decide on something.
Jake voiced out his lack of interest on the matter but Kalyx seemed to be of the opposite opinion.
She said, "Of course, don't you find it strange that a person was able to do that to us?"
True, Jake did find it strange.
However, it wasn't something completely unacceptable. Ever since he had gotten to these lands, he had accepted that in no way was he unrivalled.
He had suffered enough beatings to not consider himself special. There were a lot of special people and he was just one among the plenty.
"Yes. But I believe during the battle I had explained to you why he was so special. I listed his sources of power, didn't I? Frankly speaking, if he couldn't pack that much power despite possessing numerous talents, then he would be a failure," sighed Jake.
It was one thing to come across an opponent with just talent.
It was another to come across one with two.
Yet, it was cataclysmic to come across one with more than two.
Unique Bloodline; White River Ant.
Special Physique; [Water Spirit Physique].
Natural Talents; Excellent comprehension, hand-to-hand skills, and more.
The deceased Kieran had all three.
He absolutely dominated them when they fought.
Once again, Jake had to stress that it wasn't unnatural for Kieran to pose a threat as he boasted of a lot of talents.
"Yeah, I know. However, there is something more I tell you. I could feel it," Kaleyx tried to convince Jake.
He had not failed to notice her increased interest in the genius called Kieran.
However, the sad genius was dead. The duo personally killed him.
So, shouldn't she let the dead man slide?
Yet, she had come up with an idea of wanting to go into his head to check if he was truly abnormally special.
"Honestly, does it matter? He is dead. Yet, you had to mess with the dead. You prohibited him from finding peace after death," sighed Jake.
"Do you care?" Kaleyx curled her lips
Jake knew that he didn't care. But he would love to think that after his death, he would be granted peace. So, he expected the same thing to happen to his enemies.
After all, it was not a personal fight.
He killed Kieran out of necessity, not of obsession.

He answered truthfully, "No."
Kaleyx, seeing an open spot, cajoled him, "Then let's do it. When we are done, we can set him free. Don't act like you are not the least bit curious about how it would feel like."
If people of the world knew of what she wanted to do, they would consider it heretical.
Yet, here she was, being so casual about it…...about taking a dive into another person's mindscape.
Jake knew part of her reason for wanting that was to fulfill her curiosity.
Her [Healing Path] granted her knowledge on the anatomical structure of most living beings, but not the ethereal structure, which the mindscape was a part of.
As a healer, she couldn't resist the allure of discovering new things.
Her fate with the theory of mindscapes was first established when she successfully sent Jake into his mindscape, granted that it was mostly successful due to Jake's [Mantra of Origin].
Her ingenuity in that field was big enough. And now, she wanted to take a step further by forcefully diving into another person's mindscape.
However, that wasn't enough for her. She was going to attempt it on a dead person.
To do that, she mercilessly locked the person's soul, mind, or whatever, in his body, preventing him from moving on.
If she wasn't being too ambitious, Jake wondered what was considered ambitious.
Yet, after all that was said, she was the same as Jake as she said...…..someone with a dangerously curious mind.
People like them could risk their minds just to fulfill their curiosity.
That was why she was sure that Jake couldn't refuse her offer.
Understanding he was trapped by himself, Jake sighed once again, "Fine, but first, tell me how you can on doing the mind dive"
"Oh, it's based on the same concept I used on you. I will first send us to a deep level of unconsciousness, but that's where the magic comes in…..."
As if showing proof of her sufficient preparation, Kaleyx material a bucket of items from her [Spatial Ring]
She introduced them to Jake, "This is the Bib Cord. It is a natural item that is made from the cord that links a mother and child together--"
Jake interjected, "--The umbilical Cord?"
"Yes, it is said to serve as a spiritual link, as well as a physical link. It links the emotion between the mother and child together. My guess is that it allows for a low-level telephoto between both sides. Using this theory, it is safe to say that if used the right way, it could link us to the mind. Thus, the mindscape."

In her basket were two bib cords. From that, Jake could infer that they both need one and it was sort of a one-way trip.
Kaleyx pointed at the endpoints of the bib cords, "These bib cords were customized by me to fit our "travel" plans. It was painted with a liquid that is spiritually noticeable. So, when the cord is physically plugged into your face, your mindscape would notice it. But since you can't enter your mindscape, you would opt to sense it from your unconscious state."
She touched the middle section of each cord, "They were made with the bones of a Demonic Tortoise, demonic beasts that are said to never die. But in actuality, they are merely deficient creatures whose physiques lock their souls in their bodies after death, making them reach a sort of undead status. Using their bones should prevent our minds from wandering off when attempting the dive. This would also act as a guarantee."
Kaleyx went on to explain many things.
For instance, she hypothesized that the mindscape doesn't truly go with the main spiritual body that attempts the mind dive.
However, this ethereal body draws its power from the mindscape. In other words, its power would be based on its connection to its mindscape.
To people like them, who had not yet fully connected with their mindscapes, it was not great news.
She also highlighted the fact that while Kieran was technically dead. He wasn't deaf in his mindscape, especially when she prohibited him from passing on.
So, he would be able to resist the invasion of two of them. Also, since he had the home advantage, it was possible he was far stronger than them.
In fact, there was a seventy percent(70%) possibility that he would be in control of everything.
However, Kaleyx was betting on the fact that Kieran wasn't experienced. She highlighted that right now he probably was still in his limb state, not being able to make sense of what was happening to him.
His intelligence would be slurred and his mental mind would be weak. Jake knew this personally as he experienced it himself.
It was impossible to concentrate when in that state, especially if the person is a first-timer. In Jake's words, he would still be sleeping
However, like any sleeping person, who senses something alarming, when the duo invades his mindscape, he would jolt awake and that's when things would become tough and interesting at the same time.
Yet, Kaleyx speculated that if they could draw immense power from their mindscapes, they would be able to counter the fill power of Kieran's mindscape.
In essence, it was a battle of the mind. A stronger mindset meant a stronger connection to one's mindscape.
However, it still did not mean it would be a walk in the park. Nonetheless, it was interesting enough for both of them to risk it.
Kaleyx briefed him on other things to expect.
She warned him that there was a time limit that was relative to oneself. That meant that they could pull out at any time.
She said that this was a safety precursor she implemented as the danger of staying in another person's mindscape was immense.
For one, they could get locked in the mindscape.
They could lose their way back.
They could damage their mindscape which in turn might produce any mental deficiency for them.
They would also bear the risk of leaving their mindscape vulnerable.
The worst part of all, they could dissolve their minds.
When Jake heard the last part, he jittered.
It seemed like he had some encounters with the dissolution part….encounters he did not want to remember.
Nonetheless, it was worth the risk. When the mind alarm rings, they would be forcefully sent back to their body. It would be a reverse mind jump.
After all was said and done, Kaleyx brought out the corpse of Kieran with a smile.
It was freshly preserved, which made it presentable enough.
She plugged her cord to Kieran's head while keeping the other end on her head.
Jake did the same.
He consumed the other items as he was instructed.
He then looked at Kaleyx and nodded. There was only one item left, a potion, the main potion.
It was what would power them through the mind trip.
Coincidentally, it was also the accumulation of the practice Kaleyx did on Jake. She called it the K-Potion.
Once they drink it, they would be instantly sent to an unconscious state, constantly digressing further into a deeper level until they hit the Limbo state.
And so, in a dramatic manner, they prepared their hearts and drank it!
