《Secrets of the Universe 》Chapter 209: Intricacies of Arrays

As soon as Quinn left, Kaleyx rested her body back on her bed.
She smiled at Jake who kept looking at her, "What?"
"Why a gun?" Jake curiously asked.
He didn't tag her as someone who would use a gun. Hence, he felt there was a story behind her reason.
"Oh, that. Back when I was in the third dimension, I fought some bastard that used guns. Imagine my shock seeing someone point a deficient weapon at me, a celestial. Yet, it was the same weapon that defeated me mercilessly," Kaleyx revealed.
It seemed that after her defeat, she had recognized a gun as an official weapon.
However, there was still something wrong.
Jake couldn't keep silent about her assumptions, "Do you have an array master to make bullets for you?"
Kaleyx's innocent eyes twinkled at him, "Huh? Don't I have you?"
"I'm not still learning the theoretical knowledge. I haven't made a single array yet. Even if I can, what makes you so sure that I would make the bullets for you? "
"Ehh, aren't we allies? Also, your knowledge of arrays is sufficient enough, I still remember you opening the Weeping Town barrier when we were escaping," asked Kaleyx.
Jake sighed at her well-put words, 'She has a point. What a sad life?'
He left her to have her rest and took out an array book. With nothing holding him back, he quickly dived into his array book.
His goal this time was to make his first array, achieving the first level of the [Array Path].
Since he had excess theoretical knowledge, he would convert it t experience and blitz oast the first level of the [Array Path].
With that type of progress, he should be able to reach the peak of the first level in a week or more.

After that, since he had already attained a symbiosis with a weapon, it would be easy for him to do that with an array.
It was all about accumulation. Jake knew that first-hand.
Immediately he was done reading his book, Jake closed his eyes as he began his first step to array mastery.
All sorts of information about arrays floated in his head.
Array lines …...array nodes...vertexes...energy control….stacking...imposing...basic arrays...weaving….offensive arrays.
They all swam into the whirlpool of conversion in his mind.
Suddenly, something exploded in his head, and Jake stretched out his fair arm.
A cool purple energy spread out from his palm and coalesced on top of it.
The visible energy squished together, trying to form a shape.
First, it was a ball, but it got compressed further until it became a sphere.
Jake took a look at it and analyzed it.
What he was checking was his energy control. He saw to it that not a single unit of energy was used unnecessarily.
After the first examination, Jake quickly turned the exquisite sphere into a two-dimensional construct.
He then expanded it to form a soiree shape. It was the basic shape of an array.
As soon as lines actualized on the square array, Jake's senses caught on blobs of [Spirit Essence] floating to the array.
Jake smiled and activated his Akashic Eye's [Energy Vision] to get a good look at it, "Perfect."
He had just created a basic gathering array and made no imperfections.
The basic gathering array was the first step of an array master. It coils even be said to be the foundation of array mastery.
For instance, inscribed on the walls of the room he was in were about four energy-gathering arrays.
Sure, they were not on the same level as the basic energy gathering array, but they were of the same concepts. In other words, the room's energy-gathering arrays were only much more advanced than the one he just created.

Two minutes after Jake created the array, it dispersed into thin air to which Jake was not surprised.
To keep the array, he would need to constantly supply it with a lot of his energy. That was why the best applications of arrays were those that involved inscriptions or drawings.
It was general knowledge that arrays needed to be supported by physical substances to retain their stability.
This fact gave birth to the sub-professions of array masters like scroll masters, talisman masters, inscriptionists, and many more.
However, if there was one thing they had in common, it would be that they all followed the same principles.
They all were connected to the world!
That was what an array master was. It was what differentiated their arrays from regular constructs.
An array was a construct that communicated with the world using array lines. Using an example, the basic gathering arrays used Jake's energy in form of array lines.
It manipulated it until it was enough to attract the surrounding energies. After that, the array lines would absorb their own energy and power themselves.
The array lines were like universal symbols that held an ancient meaning. Each one is different from the other. Even a little bump on its line could mean the opposite of what the original meant.
In essence, it was a language. A language that made one converse with the surrounding....with the stars and the moon.
It was said that at the end of the array path, one would realize that everything was an array.
One would learn to look at things from a different perspective. Seeing planets as merely the different nodes of a solar system array.
It was a wild thought and Jake was absolutely bought. He knew, firsthand, what a difference in perspective could cause.
Therefore, if he could achieve the rumored end of the path, maybe he could convert all the buried secrets in his body to something that wasn't harmful but understable.
Having completed the drawing of his first array, Jake went on to his second one, a barrier.
A barrier was another general type of array that had multitudes of variations. One of them was the one that isolated Weeping Town.
Of course, Jake was still far from making something like that but right now, he would learn how to make the most basic of barriers.

Real science is done on the edge of knowledge. If done correctly, you really are not certain of the outcomes. If done incorrectly, people can get hurt. This is the story of a researcher tossed across reality. Current update schedule is entirely sporadic, but I do commit to not dropping the story. I'm aiming for 1 small chapter a month at the moment.
