《Secrets of the Universe 》Chapter 32: The Black Eye Zombie

In a distant city, Aztec Kingdom.
Two men stood on a faraway building as they watched a horde of mindless zombies tear apart the city
"Ahhh--Save me."
Screams of terror were heard as various people tried to get away from the zombies.
"Stay calm," shouted a man wearing a warrior outfit.
On his shoulder was an incredibly huge giant sword, he brandished it to kill any zombie he saw.
"City Lord, where did the zombies come from?" another warrior beside him asked.
Three hours ago, they were in their homes, enjoying the warm sun. Suddenly, they heard loud screams. Rushing out, they were met with a huge horde of zombies, which had mysteriously appeared in the city.
At that time, the horde was still small, and a group of ten cultivators could effortlessly take care of it.
So the Citylord sent a small team to deal with it and that was their mistake!..... one shouldn't underestimate the terror of zombies!
The zombies, while weak against a cultivator, made up for that with their immense numbers and their spontaneous degree of infection. With just one bite, they could gain an army!
They quickly converted the small team to their sides and continued spreading their infection around the city.
Of course, the city lord couldn't sit down and watch as his city descended into chaos. He summoned all the cultivators in his city and battled the zombies.
As a [Morning Dew] cultivator, no zombie could outmatch him, but when they ganged up on him, he felt restrained. He had to fight multiple zombies, and also spare some of his time to save some of his citizens.
"Enter into formation!" The city lord instructed his men to increase their efficiency.
The few men left arranged themselves as they prepared to fight the horde. They could see some familiar faces among the zombies.

Some men could see their wives. Some youths could see their parents. Some could see friends.
"That is the true terror of zombies," one of the men watching the city softly commented.
"It is not death or infection. It is the fact that the zombies might be your loved ones," quipped the second man.
"True," agreed, the first man.
They conversed as the city descended into chaos.
Watching the city lord struggling, the first man asked, "Do you think he will survive?"
The second took a deep breath, glancing at the city lord, trying to estimate his chances of survival.
"No. He is just a [Morning Dew realm] cultivator. Sooner or later, he would get worn out."
"Well, none of that matters….."
"True, with that zombie in the city, the city lord's death is ascertained."
They watched as the city lord fought valiantly against the zombie.
Sweats dripped down his forehead, as he kept killing zombies after zombies.
The cultivator's numbers dimmed down as they progressed.
The city lord couldn't see any hope, but he held his large sword firmly as if channeling his despair into it.
He furiously slashed the zombies, not sparing any thought about their past form.
"Charge. By killing them, we will be granting them peace!" he shouted, boosting the morale of the cultivators.
Feeling invigorated, the cultivators charged at the horde of the zombies. The killing rate was increasing every minute as they had been purged of their hesitation.
"That settles it," said the men in the building top.
They smiled as they looked past the cultivation, at a.....
*Dun!* *Dun!* *Dun!*
A loud footstep paused the battles as the cultivators searched for the source.
After a while, the sounds stopped. They saw a figure as tall as a giant.

"Oh my god!"
"Is that a zombie? Why is it different?"
"We are gonna die"
The cultivator panicked as they saw the real appearance of the giant.
It was a huge zombie with green skin, and most especially, a full black eye!
Most zombies have the same color of the eye that their past self had, only just with a tinge of red. So, for a zombie to possess a completely black demon eye, meant it was special.
Despair passed through the cultivators as they came to the terrifying realization.
"Calm down. It is just a zombie," the city lord assured.
'As a leader, I cannot show fear,' he thought.
While outwardly looking confident, inwardly, he was shaking deep. Unlike the other cultivators, he saw the zombie for what it truly was, a catastrophic monster.
As a city lord, he knew about zombies. They were mindless creatures that could continuously grow stronger.
'They start from Normal zombie to Gray Eye Zombie. From Gray Eye Zombie to Black Eye Zombie!'
The city lord shuddered as he realized the beast in front of him was a Black Eye Zombie! A monster that could only be defeated by the joint forces of cultivators above the [Morning Dew Realm.]!
*Roar!*
Spotting the tiny humans, the zombie roared as it dashed at them.
"Run! It is going to kill us!"
The cultivators tried to escape. Having cultivated for a while, they weren't dumb. They could tell when a situation was dangerous for them.
*Roar*
As if sensing their thoughts, the zombie stopped in its tracks. It roared one last time before something occurred to it.
Grey energy, the thickness of the abyss, rushed at it from nowhere. It entered its body. The grey energy pulsed as it moved towards the zombie's head region.
It pulsated like a heartbeat. The beat rising higher and higher…..and higher until the zombie opened its mouth for a final roar.
*Roar!*
It shot out a beam of concentrated grey energy....
"It's done. Let's go."
The man on the building top addressed his colleague, as they exited the city, not bothering to check the aftermath of the energy beam.

Pinesun City, Aztec Kingdom
'Perfect. Everything is perfect. The moon shines beautifully. The crickets sing melodiously. The cool wind warms the skin. My handsome face blesses all that is present. Oh, what a wonderful day!...'
That was what Jake thought….a while ago!
So how did it become like this?
"Are you all set?" a young man asked them. It was Gavin.
He asked Jake and a group of teenagers who were seated in a huge carriage. Opposite the carriage were other carriages, which housed other groups heading for the capital.
Jake sat in the carriage sandwiched between a fat man child and another fat man child!
Just imagine the scenario, a young lean teenager seated in between two mean-looking young men, with beards!
If one didn't look properly, one wouldn't see Jake, as he was barely noticeable!
The seating positions were random and could not be changed. So, Jake had to endure this craziness.
He had also thought of killing his two seatmates, but it would cause too much trouble.
A while ago, Jake had walked to the carriage location, their agreed meet-up location, with a jubilant smile on his face.
Everything was going good for him, and he thought he had shed his bad luck.
That was until he met the cluster of teenagers at the meetup place. He knew from then that he was in for an annoying journey.
