《Harry Potter: Blood of the Dragon 》Chapter 296: Ragnar OP

Madame Maxime read the words Magnus wrote and felt their profound meaning. "That is... truly inspiring, Mr Pendragon. And it seems the wizards of Great Britain have learned their lesson and finally started fighting against the evil."
Magnus nodded, "Yes, but we still have many battles to fight. Well, if this was all, I shall return to my seat now. Good night.."
He went back to his table and ate dinner with his friends. Madame Maxime and Dumbledore just talked about his quote the whole evening.
...
Magnus used his Boggart locket to keep the horny girls away from himself after what happened in the Great hall. He was going to be in France for one whole week so he had to keep himself safe for just till then.
He was focused on the competitions. Magnus was participating in Charms, Transfiguration, Duelling, Care of Magical Creatures, Quidditch and the final team quiz in which the smartest of the two schools would participate.
Ragnar was participating in Potions, Duelling and the quiz. Emma was only in Quidditch. Severus was in Potions, Charms and quiz.
While in Beauxbatons Academy, students from Hogwarts were supposed to study in normal classes with the rest of the students. There were no holidays. Nor could students from Hogwarts afford them.
Unlike Hogwarts, where students take and pass their O.W.Ls in the 5th year, here, they pass it in their 7th year. Meaning that Hogwarts was more competitive since by the end of Hogwarts' 7th year, students pass their N.E.W.Ts, which are advanced-level exams that prepare one for jobs.
Magnus was the best no matter which class it was. He gave all the answers and asserted dominance. Well, all except Potions. He was hopeless in that.
Soon, the first competition started. It was, Potions. The winner was obvious from the start. If Ragnar didn't win this competition with the top marks then he had no right to be called the best potioneer. And, as expected, he floored everyone.
The competition consisted of multiple rounds. Since there were five students from each school, at least 3 rounds were needed. In each round, a potion's name would be given and they were told to make it to the best of their ability.
In the first round, Severus and Ragnar both aced. It was their speciality to use their own methods to make the potion better. In that round, about 4 contestants lost. Now, out of the remaining 6, 3 were from Beauxbatons Academy and 3 were from Hogwarts. Sadly for them, these three were the beasts.
In the second round, Ragnar and Severus again made the best potion possible. So, after the disqualification of the two, it was a battle between Severus and Ragnar. But Hogwarts was the clear winner no matter who won among the two.

Ragnar, taught potions by some strange old man, appeared to have an upper hand and easily won the Potioneering Tournament, proving that his strongest point was indeed his strongest point. Severus wasn't jealous, as he expected this result. Lily had won third place though, making the whole Potioneering contest dominated by Hogwarts.
The next competition was Care of Magical Creatures. It was not a very popular event but since Magnus was participating it earned a lot of crowds. There was just Magnus and one more kid participating anyway.
But the way they fought was different. Magnus was supposed to name a beast that his opponent should befriend while the other would do the same to him. Both could only name the available beasts.
When Magnus heard his opponent named Mackled Malaclaw, he chuckled. ~Hehe... he probably thinks I will get bad luck and lose all the other competitions.~
The Mackled Malaclaw was a magical land beast that closely resembled the lobster in appearance, but it was not edible. A bite from a Malaclaw had the unusual side effect of making the victim unlucky for up to a week. Any witch or wizard bitten by a Malaclaw would call off all bets, wagers and ventures since they would definitely go against them.
Magnus imagined his opponent expected the same. So, he decided to play a trick on him, it would be a 50-50% chance of success though. So, he named "Thestral!"
Now, these beasts were native to France and hence were available in abundance. But, as Magnus expected, his opponent couldn't even see the Thestral, how would he tame it?
At the same time, Magnus had shown his dominance over Mackled Malaclaw. Initially, the lobster was angry, but Magnus warned it, ~I will eat you if you don't become obedient. And trust me, I can digest anything.~
He scared the lobster with his fire and gained its undivided loyalty. Hence, he never got bitten. The same could not be said about the Thestral though. His opponent had lost the invisible beast.
Magnus won another medal for Hogwarts, as well as a pet lobster-like beast. That was it for the day. They then returned to the dorms. The real games were going to start the next day. Since only Magnus was extraordinary on those subjects, especially duelling... or so he thought.
On Day 2, the first event was organised in the afternoon. A nice duelling stage was erected in the hall where they ate dinner. Many seats were erected on the sides for others to watch. In this game, from Hogwarts, it was Magnus, Ragnar and 3 other 7th year students.
From Beauxbatons Academy, it was a team of all 7th years. They were mostly tall and smart looking boys. There was one girl too though. The first match was between the seventh years of both schools.

Magnus saw Hogwarts losing badly in this fight in front of his eyes. Soon, he realised the reason. Duelling was a proper subject in Beauxbatons Academy, unlike Hogwarts, who had abandoned it, and not too long ago only he made it a club activity.
Beauxbatons Academy WON!
Beauxbatons Academy WON!
One after another, only Magnus and Ragnar were left. The Duelling matches were not held in a pyramid-shaped order, instead, they were linear. Once a wizard goes to the stage, he fights for as long as possible and defeats as many duellists as possible.
Hence, Beauxbatons Academy had only lost 1 point while Hogwarts had lost 3. Ragnar was supposed to go next.
This was the first time Beauxbatons Academy's duellists saw a sword wielder. He didn't even take out his wand, but that was an illusion. Ragnar's wand was connected to a moving contraption on his wrist. With one strong push of the hand, the wand would come out. [A/N: Imagine hidden blade from Assassins' Creed.]
This was a secret weapon of Ragnar, which he used to shock his opponents.
"Let's go, boy." He taunted the 7th year, something that irked him.
Beauxbatons Academy made the mistake of only taking Magnus' presence seriously and didn't study Ragnar previously. Hence, they had no knowledge of his powers.
The 7th year started to send a barrage of curses and charms. Ragnar blocked them easily with his sword, deflecting most of them. In no moment, Ragnar jumped in front of him and slammed the hilt of the sword on his head. The 7th year boy fell down like a doll.
Ragnar had trained his body a lot, he had drunk a lot of supplement potions too. Hence, it was not surprising he was so fast.
Everyone was left in shock there. Who brings a sword in a wand fight? Everyone thought. Sadly, they all had no idea that in old mediaeval times when wizards were being persecuted, many travelled the lands as knights, with their wands hiding inside the sword itself.
"HEHE... LET'S FIGHT!" Ragnar cockily invited the next. Once again, Ragnar used his sword, but he also used his multi-powered stones on his sword. It was not too lethal but enough to let him win.
One...
Two...
Three...
But now, Ragnar was panting loudly. Magnus, on the other hand, was shouting at him to quit it, as he wanted to fight too. But Ragnar did not. He wanted to fight till the end.
The last contestant came, he was the best one too, as he initially wanted to fight Magnus. But, it seemed he was alert about Ragnar now. His name was Bocchino Mozzarella.
Their fight lasted a few minutes first. Then when he tried to take advantage of Ragnar's predictable leg work. But this was a deliberate action of his opponent. Ragnar tried to fool him to stay uncaring about what was happening above. Bocchino's attention was only on Ragnar below the waist.
*BOOM*
Ragnar pointed his left arm at the boy. Nobody knew what it was, but then a blue light came from it, throwing the 7th year at the wall behind him. This was a successful charm made by Ragnar, but for some reason, it even shocked Ragnar, since he knew this was just a fluke as his charms never work. Normally, all his spells would create a minimal effect. He only wanted a light beam to distract the opponent.
"YEEES!!!" Magnus ran to him and lifted him in the air.
"You rascal, you didn't even let me fight." He also complained.
Ragnar scoffed, "You're too strong, Mag. They are amateurs with some personality issues at best. Even if I, who has crap charms talent, can beat four prodigy wizards so fast, proves that they are not up to your level. Now, move aside and let me bask in my glory."
Magnus scowled, "Hmph... Narcissist."
Oh, how the tables had turned. Ragnar enjoyed getting pictures clicked with people and showing his sword. Magnus at that point decided that he's going to obliterate the whole tournament now. He couldn't show off his skills and attract strong wizards to his side from duelling, he must use the rest of the subjects better.
He whispered something in Ragnar's ears before getting down, ~Tell them you became strong because of me, this way we can attract more people.~
Ragnar nodded and shamelessly stated, "HAHAHA... My brother, Magnus here, helped me get stronger. He spends days and nights with me, teaching me. It was painful and hard, but eventually, I became better."
His words were right, but not right sounding, their meaning could be seen as something lewd, and people did, as many were laughing.
*Sigh*
*Facepalm," Magnus just sighed and left.
[A/N: Bocchino means blo*job in slang Italian.]
