《Harry Potter: Blood of the Dragon 》Chapter 283: Pain, Sorrow & Rage

Severus was worried about his mother. But he didn't care about any consequences anymore. Because the life of Magnus was bigger than that. It was bigger than anything in the world. If he died, it would be a great loss to the well being of the world.
*WOOSH*
A fight ensued. Lucius was an excellent wizard, a powerful one at that who had been getting trained by Voldemort for the past two years. Hence all his spells were non-verbal.
Severus didn't have such luxury, he was still focused on mastery of many high-level spells, let alone going non-verbal. But, what he was good at was being fast and very observant. Hence he was able to counter each curse with nigh accuracy.
However, Lucius used trick spells that make the enemy think the caster is casting the previous spell once again. *BAM*
"PROTEGO!"
Severus was hit by a stunning charm, but he was still able to conjure a shield in time, albeit slightly late and it caused him pain as he was thrown away a few feet.
His chest was hurting, most likely some broken ribs. Immediately he took out a vial and drank its potions. It was a quick healing potion, but it didn't do anything except decrease the pain and close any open wounds.
He tried to use his head and think about how to defeat Lucius, who was a wizard many times stronger than him. ~I need to surprise him... the only way is to use a spell he does not know.~
After brainstorming, he decided what he would do. It was risky as he had not perfected it but he had to use it right now.
"I commend you for getting up. Being a third-year and able to fight me. Enemies like you can't be left alive." Lucius walked toward him.
"HAAA..." Severus all of a sudden pointed his wand at him and shouted a spell Lucius had never heard of before, "SECTUMSEMPRA!"
*BAM*
Taken by surprise, Lucius was hit by the spell on his arm, and it had enough force to send him back and fall to the ground. "AAA..." He screamed in pain.
Not even knowing what had happened to him due to the uniqueness of the spell, Lucius looked at his right arm. It had very deep cuts all over it and it bled like a waterfall.
If this blood loss persisted, he'd die immediately. He turned to Severus, who was slowly walking towards him. He knew that Severus might try to kill him. But he expected the boy to at least hesitate since he had never killed someone.
Severus looked at Lucius, conflicted about what he should do. He did feel immense hatred towards him, so much so he just wanted him dead. His mother cried because of these scums.
At that moment, shocking Lucius, Severus waved his hand and shouted, "AVADA KEDAVRA!..."
*BOOM*
A green light erupted from Severus' wand and headed to Lucius on the ground.
"Wingardium Leviosa!" Almost immediately Lucius used a verbal spell and created an obstacle for the spell by putting a large rock in between them.
*BAM*
However, the spell only got weakened and slowed down. It still hit him. "AAAAAAA..."

Lucius screamed at the top of his lungs. He didn't die, but the pain inflicted on his body was many times greater than Cruciatus Curse.
Severus sneered. Though it was expected that Lucius would not die so easily. He tried it again then "AVADA KEDAV..."
"I WILL COME FOR YOU SEVERUS! YOUR MOTHER WILL NEVER DIE NOW! FOREVER SHE WILL BE TORTURED AS A PLAYTHING OF OUR ARMY! YOU WILL GET THE PHOTOGRAPHS!"
"...RAAAAA..." Severus got enraged and completed the spell. This time his killing curse was so strong it lightened up the whole area in green. "DIEEE!"
Lucius cried in pain but uttered last words before disapparating, "NOT TODAY!"
"NOOO..." Severus saw him vanish and panicked. His spell hit a tree in the distance and turned it into ashes.
The jungle returned to a calm peace, no animal made any sound. But Severus' mind was in dishevel. His eyes erupted into tears, non-stop falling to the ground as he fell to his knees in defeat and pain, both mental and physical. He screamed towards the sky, wondering why this was happening to him.
With his blurry eyes, he looked at his own hands, before he entered the forest, he knew it, even if he killed Lucius, it wouldn't solve the problem he was in, his mother was in, ~Mother... I-I'm sorry... I... I'm sorry...~
...
Somewhere in the jungle,
*Heavy Breathing*
"Huff... hahh... come here, Fenrir, you got nowhere to run. Just fall on my sword and die, it will be quick, I promise." Magnus mockingly called the werewolf.
Magnus' situation had not changed much, as he remained in the middle, surrounded. A bigger mountain of corpses was under his feet now. He had killed around 300 werewolves already.
He didn't want to, and even tried to talk sense into them many times, but they were crazed and didn't listen. Their only instinct was what was ordered. Maybe this was because of orders from their alpha, and only Fenrir looked like an alpha here.
That was why he put his focus on Fenrir, as his death would mean the safety of the remaining werewolves too. However, he still had to cut down all those who came in his path.
"HAAAAA..." Magnus opened his mouth and spewed fire at the growing werewolf to surprise him, followed by the quick slashing of his sword. The fire was his biggest friend in today's fight, but after so long he had started to feel heavy and tired. He had to use too much of his own energy to create all that fire.
"Hehe... kid, nobody can kill me. People fear me for a reason." Fenrir laughed.
*SLASH* Magnus leapt to the side to give himself a few seconds.
He took out another wand as he killed werewolves with one hand. He was getting too tired and his movements were becoming sloppy, resulting in many more injuries. No 13-year-old kid had the energy to fight 1200 physically superior werewolves. Even with Ragnar's energy potions, it was too much.
But, he had to do it. If he didn't. ~I don't wanna die. Not before I see my little sister's face... not before I make mum proud of me.~

Magnus may be a bit stupid in this regard though, as his parents were already too proud of him. But, in Magnus' eyes, he still had too much to achieve. ~I haven't fulfilled our dream. What do you think, Merlin, can I get out of here alive?~
He was talking to Merlin's soul piece in the locket on his neck. It spoke immediately in his mind. However, unlike before, Merlin sounded very kind this time. ~You have exceeded all my expectations, son. I have no doubt about you. Not only will you win today, but you will be hailed as the strongest wizard to have ever existed for eternity. Now focus, do not let that vile mad werewolf escape, kill him and end this madness. Then we can start your formal training under me, and I shall teach you about my staff, as well as the past.~
Magnus felt rejuvenated by this. Finally, the moment he had been waiting for had come. To learn from real Merlin and also learn the secrets of his staff. The weapon that if he had right now he could have ended this whole battle before even starting.
"HAHA... DYING NOW WOULD BE TOO MUCH OF A SHAME THEN!" He laughed loudly, confusing Fenrir. He didn't know who he was talking to, even wondered if the boy had finally lost his mind.
But Magnus suddenly used the entirety of the power that his spare wand could handle and cast a highly powerful Dark Arts spell that he had learned recently. It was so strong that he knew it would deplete his already limited energy, but it would make sure Fenrir can't run away and stay back.
"PROTEGO DIABOLICA!" Magnus shouted.
*WOOSH*
Immediately a blue coloured fire came from the wand and created a circle overlapping the already circling fire. It created a tall blue wall of fire, soon it even consumed the normal flames of Magnus.
Fenrir looked around himself. He had never seen this before and nor heard of this spell. Thinking it was a normal fire, he quickly stepped away from Magnus to check it. After all, it was his plan to let all the werewolves handle Magnus.
However, unlike before, where he could jump through normal fire, this blue fire inflicted many times greater pain, even his skin had turned to ashes on the finger he had used to check it. ~I... I WILL TURN TO ASHES!~ he realised.
Magnus laughed, "What did you say before? I'm stuck here with you all? Haha... NO! You're stuck here with me!"
...
Hogsmeade,
Dumbledore had his eyes fixated on the jungle all this time he was fighting Voldemort. He was somewhat happy to see that Magnus' and his people were killing Death Eaters even now. Out of 20 Death Eaters that Voldemort brought, only 9 were remaining now. The rest were dead. Most of these were also claimed by Ragnar as he was in a maddening state, not caring about anything but beheading them. He jumped around like a maddened lion with claws aimed at the enemy's neck.
But just then he saw a bright green light shined in a part of the jungle. His heart sank, wondering what it could be.
However, the next thing he saw shocked him.
*POP*
"S-Severus...!"
An injured Lucius, crying in pain appeared, directly beside Voldemort's feet. He muttered Severus' name, telling him that he had betrayed them. Voldemort was taken aback by his appearance and got distracted for a split second.
That was enough for Dumbledore and Ragnar. While Ragnar threw a whole bag full of disarming grenades, Dumbledore sent a silent disarming charm.
*BOOOOM*
The grenades exploded. Dumbledore's charm had disarmed Voldemort and taken away his wand. But the grenades attracted that wand towards themselves and once stuck they exploded.
This left Voldemort without a wand.
"SURRENDER, VOLDEMORT! YOU LOST!" Dumbledore voiced.
Ragnar seethed in rage at that, "KILL THE DAM BASTARD, PROFESSOR! HE'S A DEMON ON EARTH! F*CKING KILL HIM!"
He would have done it himself if he was not bad at using his wands, and there was no point in using grenades since Voldemort could still use wandless spells.
Voldemort started laughing, "He won't, boy. He won't kill me. He couldn't back then, he can't right now. Hehehe... he's as spineless as before."
*WOOSH*
"AAAAHAAA... Hehe... No no... Dumbledore, these low-level spells won't work on me. I am as strong without a wand as with one." His face had an orgasmic expression as he thought of something, "That mud-blood prince, your favourite student... must be dead by now."
Voldemort estimated that 2 hours should have been enough. And he knew that even he would find it problematic to survive fighting a thousand werewolves if he didn't have the ability to fly. Let alone, Magnus was just a kid.
Feeling triumph, he looked around, "Ah... this battle cost me a lot. BUT... it was worth it. I shall return soon, Dumbeldore, for you. MY LOYAL ARMY! RETURN HOME!"
*WOOSH*
*SHHH...*
One by one, all the remaining dark wizards and Death Eaters started to disapparate. Nobody even tried to stop them. Except for Ragnar, who killed a few as they were leaving. "WHY ARE YOU STOPPING? KILL THEM!"
"RAGNAR!" Dumbledore angrily called him, his eyes reddened with an unknown emotion. "MAGNUS IS THE PRIORITY! The quicker they leave the faster we can find him. Voldemort was not lying, he is as strong without the wand."
Ragnar stopped and cursed, "F*CK... Magnus better be alive... I still need to give him payback for too many things."
Ragnar was scared at heart in reality and this was just his method of acting calm. He looked around, all forces of Magnus had stopped, as they also had the same idea as Dumbledore.
And as soon as the last dark wizards left, they all ran towards the Forbidden forest. But they had no idea how deep Magnus had run in there. Emma, on the other hand, had left long ago with her spare broom to search for Magnus.
