《Harry Potter: Blood of the Dragon 》Chapter 269: Godfather Magnus

"HAHAHAHA... you are one of us now, Severus."
"If you want to save her, spy on that mud-blood prince."
"Do as we say, or she suffers."
"DON'T SEV! Don't do it."
"Look at his face."
"Yeah... I bet he's dreaming about Lily."
"Who knows, it could be some other girls? A man can do anything in his dreams after all."
"HEY! What's with this stupid discussion? Be civil."
Severus, who was having a nightmare not long ago, now felt the dreams becoming chaotic. Slowly, his brows furrowed and he opened his eyes as he broke off from his sleep.
The first thing he saw was the chin view of Ragnar and Magnus. And mind you, looking at a human from his chin was not beautiful. They look like some monster.
Severus in shock jolted up. But then he recognised the two fools. They were fighting over his dreams and now arguing with Emma.
"What's with so much noise? Can't I even sleep?" Severus grunted.
Magnus happily stood up, "AH! Ragnar... look at what you have done. You disturbed him."
(ಠ_ಠ)
Ignoring Ragnar's gaze, Magnus helped Severus sit, "What happened to you, brother? I just cast a simple spell on you."
"I... I don't know. Maybe it hit some nerve or something." Severus said. In reality, he was not sure. What happened to him was so bizarre. ~Maybe I was too stressed out?~
"OKAY... STEP ASIDE PLEASE." Madam Pomfrey pushed Magnus aside and started checking Severus.
"Hmm, you seem perfectly normal now. You can go to your dorms or stay here for the night. I recommend you stay here so I can help if something happens again." she suggested.
Severus immediately accepted, "I will stay here then."
Magnus and Ragnar, respecting his choice, left after saying good night. They went to their dorms, as they had already missed dinner.
"Did he stay there due to his fears?" Ragnar asked.
"Yes, I think so. I'm gonna read a book now." Magnus said and took out the Blood Of The Dragon book. It was written in a level of runic language that Magnus could somewhat understand. It took him time but he could do it.
So he started reading from 9 PM to 12 in the morning. In the three hours, he made decent progress. The content of the book was about what after-effects one might face about doing a ritual to mutate yourself with a beast's blood.
"Hmm... It seems I should read this book completely. " He muttered after reading about the visible effects.

Because it was written by Merlin, who also had dragon's blood, the same conditions applied to Magnus.
That it is possible that after mutation the animal's nature might also bleed into the nature of the person. Magnus felt it, he could generate fire naturally. Then there was also the mention of increased greediness and thirst for money, especially gold and diamonds. There was also the increased pride in oneself.
Magnus felt like he was really reading about himself. And it felt weird. So he ended the reading session there.
*Yawn*
"Goodnight, Rag." Said and went to sleep. Ragnar was still working on his potions and alchemy formula.
Ragnar knew that without a good ability to cast charms if he wanted to become strong to the point he's overpowered, he'd have to work 10 times harder than a normal wizard.
Ragnar sighed, ~Are you seeing me old man? You didn't raise a lazy boy.~ he muttered, remembering the kind old man with glasses who raised him when he had nobody.
...
[Small Omake - Skip if you have not read Grandpa Universe.]
Heaven,
*Aaachooo*
"Boss, please don't do that. You just caused a tsunami on 100,686 planets." Dobby complained from his table.
Alexander Maxim Universe, also known as Grandpa Universe or Supreme God, wiped his nose. "Forgive me, Dobby. Just had the urge. I wonder which being remembered me so strongly that even I felt it."
"Alright, send the next person in. Ah, it's 100 forced labour kids who died in that factory crash? Quickly, prepare the playroom. Bring all the toys there and tell Bijuu-vengers to put on their avengers costume to act the play. Also, send a lightning strike on the person who owned the factory, the one who built it, the government officials who turned a blind eye. And let the CEOs of the companies that buy the products from these companies face bad luck for a month." This was God's decree and it shall be followed immediately by angels overseeing the target world.
This was how god rules. Righteous, kind and... Fabulous as always.
...
Hogwarts,
Magnus woke up the next morning to see Summer sitting on his chest and looking at his face. Magnus nearly had a heart attack from the scene.
"Wha... What happened, Summer? You wanna go out? Ah, sorry dear, I forgot to keep the window open. You should have pecked my face." He apologised to the kind lady owl.
He quickly opened the window and let Summer fly out. It was 6 AM in the morning. He didn't want to sleep anymore so he decided to go to the common room to read the latest newspaper. He had bought a subscription for all of them. He had even told Magical Daily, his own news company, to send him muggle newspapers as well in the bundle.

Without a care, he went out. It was nearly the end of September already and being in highland up north, the temperature was falling.
So the fireplace was lit, but the common room was empty. He flicked his wand and put some jazz on. Next moment he made tea for himself.
However, just as he was about to take a seat, he noticed a little boy, most likely from 1st year, sitting on the floor by the fireplace and writing something on a notebook. The boy was startled by the sudden music.
Magnus was still not familiar with all the 1st years so he went to the boy. "What are you doing?"
The boy flabbergasted, "Ah... I-I was j-just revising."
Magnus glanced at the book, "Oh, you're studying charms? That's my strongest point. What problems are you facing?"
The boy shyly answered, "I... I am very slow at grasping the spells, your majesty."
"Just call me by my name. And didn't you get my personally written booklet? It has all the shortcuts and tricks to casting all the spells and solving the problems for the whole 1st-year course in all subjects." Magnus asked him while sipping the tea.
The boy looked confused "Booklet? No, Mr Pendragon, I did not get a booklet."
*FACEPALM*
"Ah, I forgot to distribute them this year. Just wait, I will be back in a minute," he remembered and dashed to his room. He looked in the cupboard with the background sound of Ragnar snoring.
Soon, he realised he didn't have any copy of the study material left. So, he went to Regulus' room. Regulus was in the 2nd year and just like him, shared his room with two other 2nd years. Thankfully, the two boys he shared his room with were normal and even Magnus' admirers to some degree.
Knocking would have disturbed them all so he just opened the bed and looked for Regulus. He found him in the last bed. He quickly went to him and tried to wake him up.
"Regulus, do you have the 1st year's study material? I need to make copies," he asked.
Regulus was in deep sleep and snarled, "Aye... go away Sirius, you traitor."
"It's me, your brother Magnus, Regulus. Wake up." Magnus shook him like a doll.
"Hmm? Ah... what... what? Magnus? W-What are you doing here?" Regulus' sleep was gone and left him in confusion.
"Give me the 1st year's study material." He asked again. Soon, Regulus got up from his bed while complaining and fiddled in his suitcase. He handed it to him and followed behind as he was sleepless now.
Magnus first went to his room and made some copies of it. At least 30 of them. This was the highest student number in a year most of the time. Then he returned to the fireplace. "Here, take this and read it. By the way, what's your name?"
The boy happily took the booklet like it was the treasure bestowed by the gods. "Thank you, Mr Pendragon. I am Caspar Evans."
"Hmm, are you by any chance related to Lily Evans of Gryffindor?" Magnus asked him curiously.
"No, I've never heard about her before." He answered.
Magnus nodded, ~What a small world. But I wonder if people with the same surnames are somewhat related?~
"What is your birth status? I mean no racist thing, just asking out of curiosity." Magnus inquired while trying to make it as digestive as possible.
Caspar felt slightly nervous but truthfully answered, "I... I am... I don't know, Mr Pendragon. My mother is a squib and my father is a muggle. What does that make me?"
Magnus scratched his head. There was no terminology for such a person. So he just scoffed, "Huh, that does not make you anything, Caspar. It makes you the same as me, humans. Did anybody bully you?"
"No, not yet," Caspar answered. He said yet because he knew it was inevitable with his birth status.
Magnus all of a sudden took out a badge with Slytherin's logo on it. "Wear this. If anybody ever comes to bully you, tell them you have this, and this badge means you are under my protection in the school. If anybody bullies you, I will bully them ten times."
"T-thank you, Mr Pendragon." Caspar quickly put the badge on his chest. It was small and round but didn't look that ugly. It was also somewhat honourable to wear a Slytherin badge. Now, if others wanted it, they'd first have to accept Magnus as their protector.
And this way, unknowingly, Magnus started the norm of him being jokingly nicknamed Godfather Magnus.

Living In The System - A LitRPG with more story, less text boxes
In the ancient echoes upon it’s great boughs, Yggdrasil holds all the knowledge in existence. Indeed, all of creation swings from its immense branches and leaves. The howls that creep through its cavernous spaces were not caused by the wind. No wind could be powerful enough to shake The Tree, yet it rocked. A great battle raged in its dew drops and amongst its roots. A War for control. For knowledge is power, and power is everything. A furtive glance over her shoulder told the hurried goddess that she was not being followed. That was good. What she had just done would be a great risk. Placing a new thread on a world so soon to be destroyed was costly. She would be greatly diminished, but her work was not done yet. In the myriad of infinite worlds, there lies Genia. A starter world, of very little importance. It is where she will find her champion. Killian never got the chance to see the world. Yet he is given opportunity. Opportunity not just to see the world, but to change it... to change all of creation. There are many stories to tell upon the Tree of Yggdrasil, where all of creation hangs from its branches. The power of destiny fuels all, but destiny is fickle. He can only pray that things will go well. [participant in the Royal Road Writathon challenge]

The Love Hero Chronicles
Lets keep this simple shall we? Single witty and sarcastic man is now trapped in an alternate Earth based off a cringy eroge game. Worse yet he's stuck there as a supporting character with a horrendous backstory. Seeking way home or at least trying not to bite the dust as many non-protagonist male characters do. Will his real world thinking connect well to the tropey and cliché world of a harem game? Probably not.

A Titan's Crusade
Erik Thayne spent most of his life being brutally ridiculed and tormented for his weight and physical appearance, among other things. A social pariah and diagnosed with an eating disorder no one has an explanation or treatment for, Erik spent years trying to overcome his issues with his personal image and escape the ridicule and vicious torment of his peers. After years of dedicated effort, and a fresh start in a town away from his childhood and adolescent tormentors, he had finally begun to truly realize what he'd been striving for all along. Only, fate apparently has other plans because in the blink of an eye, Erik found himself snatched from Earth and taken to another universe, another world, where he is offered the chance to be more than he'd ever imagined. Now, he has to fight to restore the Balance between Chaos and Order on a world of swords and magic, in a universe governed by the System's laws, which resemble those of RPGs from Earth. Erik learned to embrace the things about himself that others taught him to hate, using them to reforge his physical identity into something more removed from his old self-loathing. But can he learn to embrace the darkest parts of his mind just as he did the reviled aspects of his body and become who he needs to be to succeed in the task set before him? It might just prove easier to stalk in the dark as a monster than to walk in the light as a man... *This is my first time publishing anything I've written to a public audience. Due to formatting issues, I forwent traditional stat-screens for something a little less problematic, delineating stat screens by separating them from regular text with horizontal lines in a lighter-grey coloration. Let me know if you like them or not. Criticism is entirely welcome, but please don't hate on my work after only reading 1 chapter. This is a writing project I intend to complete but I have committment problems so we'll see how long this goes on. Also, fair warning, as the description implies, the main protagonist is intended to be someone who has been treated cruelly, developed antisocial tendencies, and ultimately has to question his own humanity--or lack thereof. This story is not intended to be brutally dark but I will definitely be trying to follow a darker theme. It is intended to be violent and some scenes later in the story might be...alarming. There will likely also be some light, non-graphic (think more implied with crude jokes and conversation than actual details, there will be no full-blown sex scenes)relationship scenes planned later and if you're opposed to either a bisexual or gay main character, stay away. I haven't yet decided which way he's going to swing but the odds on him being straight are relatively miniscule, and I've always wanted to write a story about a gay man who basically looks like a lumberjack because who doesn't like giving conventional stereo-types the middle finger? This will NOT be a harem story, and I have no intention to focus on romance over action--it's a consequence of character development where I'm concerned, not the be-all-end-all of the story. The cover-art does not, in any way, belong to me. It was an image titled the Druid King (by duskanmarkovic according to the file name) which I found on Google Images. Until I can get something commissioned, this is the best stand-in image I could find.
