"Oh, what a cute... CHIMAERA?!"

Magnus was shocked and slightly scared, to be honest. He had seen Chimaera before but those were the docile ones in Camelot. Also, these creatures were very scary to look at.

Chimaera were vicious, bloodthirsty beasts with a lion's head, a goat's body and a dragon's tail. Because of their ferocity, Chimaeras were classified by the Ministry of Magic as XXXXX (extremely dangerous and lethal), and their eggs were classified as Class A Non-Tradeable Materials.

And according to history, there was only one recorded instance of a wizard killing a Chimaera, although the victor died from exhaustion after killing it. So, it was normal for Magnus to be careful.

And the Chimaera in front of him looked very angry too. His eyes were contracted and the mouth spewed some kind of foggy steam.

"GRRRRR..." Chimaera growled at him.

Magnus held his sword ready, "Hehe... hey kitty kitty kitty...."

*RWAAA...*

"BAD KITTY!" Magnus brought his sword forward and blocked a strike from the Chimaera's sharp claws.

He knew he needed to find some space for himself to move around. So he jumped over the Chimaera and came to the more open area of the restroom. He knew he would have to fight it in order to safely leave.

The Chimaera next slowly moved towards him, as if calculating its prey. But, too bad the Chimaera was yet to realise that today he was the prey. *WOOSH* He ran fast and leapt at Magnus with his jaws wide open and his aim at the target's neck.

"You wanna bite me? ME? Huh, I will bite you." Magnus declared and also jumped towards the Chimaera.

Obviously, this action shocked the Chimaera, in his life he had never met someone this brave, he wondered if his own calculations were wrong. But since he was already in the air he had to go with the attack.

Magnus was smirking the whole time since he had already planned everything. "You asked for this."

He quickly waved his wand in mid-air and created a small thrust of air with it. This way he was able to manoeuvre his body and adjust himself. Seeing this, clear panic appeared in the Chimaera's eyes.

"HEHE..." Magnus chuckled.

Soon they were adjacent to each other, the Chimaera wanted to use his big tail and slam onto Magnus, but Magnus moved faster and reached his neck.

*NOM*

Magnus bit the Chimaera on his neck. This was the first time this lion-headed beast was experiencing such a thing. Normally, he had the necks of other animals in his jaws, today he felt what his prey must-have.

"AOOOO...." The Chimaera cried in some pain. But what was even more terrifying was how he felt when Magnus made contact with him. He felt as if it was not a human, but a giant Dragon. He felt scared from the bottom of his heart, finally realising the order of the food chain in this place was different.

*THUD*

The two fell down on the floor, while the Chimaera cried in pain. Magnus' bite also included some hot flames from his mouth. "What the... why are you crying like a dog?"

It seems Magnus had underestimated his own biting power. Seeing how the Chimaera was still on the floor tiredly lying still, he rushed to help, "Hey hey... I will heal you, I didn't mean to hurt you so bad."

Magnus quickly used the basic healing charms to help the beast. His eyes were slowly turning back to normal and showed a sense of life, as compared to the earlier hazy and maddening look.

Slowly, he got up and stared at Magnus. He was most likely thinking about what he should do next now. But, surprisingly, the Chimaera jumped near him and licked his face.

Magnus was shocked, ~Did... Did I just get a new pet?~

He slowly raised his hand to caress the beast. The Chimaera's head was that of a lion so it was very furry and soft. Magnus wanted to pat him and touch his mane. And as expected, the Chimaera brought his own head forward to him.

Magnus chuckled, "Haha, who would have thought this call of nature would lead me to a new friend. Where did you even come from?"

Although he wondered about his origin, he was thinking about what to do with him. ~Well, killing you will be against my values, so I guess I will send you to my big home. But first, let's go to the Great Hall.~

With one good jump, he took a seat on the back of the scary Chimaera. He went out of the washroom and roamed through the corridor. The portraits on the walls would jump in fear or exclamation, a few interested ones would ask him about the creature.

The elfs who were working here and there would run away in fear. Magnus was the only one with whom the elfs felt totally comfortable, so they didn't hide from him.

"Haha, this feels very majestic. I guess you are a lion with just some alterations." He patted the head of the Chimaera, who happily purred and walked. To him, Magnus' weight on the back was negligible.

"MEOW!"

All of a sudden both Magnus and Chimaera were alerted by this sudden meow. Chad was not in Hogwarts as he was back at home to provide Grace with some quality entertainment while she went through her pregnancy.

That only left two cats, one was Professor McGonagall and the other was Mrs Noriss. They turned around to look and sure enough, it was Mrs Noriss since the professor was in the hall.

"Come here, girl." He called the cat. Now, Mrs Noriss was in many ways just like Filch. She had a really good bond with her master and even notified him about the misbehaving students.

But since she was friends with Chad, and Magnus was Chad's boss, Mrs Noriss also considered him a friend. Though she may also just be intimidated by Magnus, just like the Chimaera was right now.

Mrs Noriss happily jumped over and sat down on the back of the Chimaera, just in front of Magnus. Then, they continued their journey.

He was just about to enter the big door of the Great Hall when he heard the panic cries of people from inside. ~What happened there? Don't tell me... DEATH EATERS ATTACKED THE SCHOOL?~

He tensed up, so he took out his sword and the wand and ordered the Chimaera to break through the door. But he was very calm, knowing that Dumbledore was there, the man was called the strongest wizard alive, there had to be some truth to that statement.

Dumbledore knew it wasn't that hard to subdue a Chimaera as long as all of the professors here fought it together. Hell, these beasts were even domesticated by a few people so it didn't make sense for it to be so dangerous, at least it was much easier to handle than a Nundu.

"Professor Moody, please go out and see if you can find the beast. Professor Flitwick, tell Hagrid to come quickly, he may have some way to subdue the beast without killing it." Dumbledore hurled commands left and right, showcasing his ability to command people.

"Professor McGonagall, please try to calm the children and help those having a panic attack." He ordered.

*BOOM*

That was when the main door all of a sudden broke down and fell with a loud thud, shaking the hearts of everyone. All sounds ceased to exist in the hall as the students panicked and their minds went into shock. Some fainted and 1-2 weakest minded ones wet themselves. The Head Boys and Head Girls dutifully covered the 1st years to protect them.

Ragnar had his bag of potions ready in his hand. Emma had her broom pouch ready, if need be they can go airborne at any moment. Severus also had his wand out. On the other hand, Sirius, James and Remus didn't have a very profound fighting experience as Magnus had provided to his friends, so they just hid under their table as instructed by their house prefect.

*ROOOOAR* An ear-shattering soul-shaking scream came.

*WHISTLING*

"Umm hmmm... Hmmm hm..." a whistling noise came from the other side of the dust caused by the blasting of the door. Nobody could see what was there but the Chimaera was guaranteed as the roar was clear.

But then, one of the 7th year students from Ravenclaw exclaimed, "Hey... isn't this whistling tune..."

Another one completed his guess, "YES... that song... that... Fortunate Son! Yes."

*WOOSH*

A smooth gust of wind cleared away the dust, and with that, Magnus' majestic form was unveiled, followed by people's awes and gasps. His wand was raised in the air, pointed forward, through which he just cast a charm to clean the air. The Despair sword was in his other hand, raised towards the front, with its tip pointing at the teacher's table.

Under him was the great beast, curiously looking at everyone, especially the roasted chicken on the table, but with whomever his eye connected with felt dread seep through their body. Even though he was harmless, just a Chimaera's mere presence was enough to tense everyone up.

Finally, there was Mrs Noriss, comfortably sitting on the back, nearly hugging Magnus.

Magnus worriedly looked around and asked seriously, "What happened? I heard you all screaming?"
