"WHAT IS THIS? This machine is garbage. I don't wet my bed. I stopped doing that even before you." Bobby protested.

Magnus howled in laughter, "Haha, my brother Bobby. Calm down, this box is not real. I was just pulling your leg. Did you really think technology has advanced so much it can wirelessly read our minds? But now you understand how you would feel about fake news, right?"

Tom agreed as he had faced this recently. "They did it with me not long ago. The headline said, "Superintendent Tom in cahoots with the criminals?" Because I was solving cases too fast."

Bobby nodded. The others did the same. This question mark was indeed a big problem.

"What is your plan? And why was I invited? I just run a construction company," Edgar sounded confused.

"The common thing among us is that we're all knowledgeable about the magical world. To us, solving problems has a different route. For this, I gathered you all. And Edgar, I have another reason to invite you. We'll talk about that later." Magnus explained and continued.

"I want all of you to start investing in all the major media houses. Not just in Britain but in all western countries, especially those that speak English. We won't stop them from reporting about us but we're gonna need some straightforward facts instead of vague questions. Meanwhile, I will do the same but on a larger scale. In the end, with all of us combined, we will have enough power to change their business practices.

"Recently, I've been seeing some very bad articles about my parents, who are the kindest people I know. Maliciously hurting their image will not be very good. Adrian, what happened to the investigation I asked you to do?" He inquired.

Adrian took out a file from his bag and handed it to him. "This is the person. He's a noble, and currently dating your royal aunt."

~Ah, here comes the stupid family politics.~ Magnus sighed in frustration.

"Any motives found?" He inquired.

"None. He seems to be after you just because he can. Or maybe his girlfriend is making him do it. Only you can find this out." Adrian said, shrugging off his responsibilities. He didn't want to meddle with the royal family.

"Fine, I will deal with that later. What about you, Edgar? What project have you taken?" Magnus asked.

Edgar notified multiple one's, "Well, the extension of tube tunnels is going on. We had to buy two tunnel boring machines to cover up our magical work. We're also building a new government office building. We're getting too many projects these days because of our speed. So we just choose the highest paying ones."

Magnus nodded in satisfaction, "Good, make sure you gather enough experience and increase the workforce. I have planned a mega project for the future and our company will be making it.

"Tom, what about you? How is your work going? How many more cases until the next promotion?"

"I don't know. There are no criteria for the number of cases that need to be solved for promotions." Tom said.

"Then we'll spend some money and make the news outlets talk more about you." Magnus decided.

They continued to talk for 2 hours. They came up with plans to get richer, more influential and powerful.

In the end, Magnus came to the last and the most important part.

For the past 2 years now, he had been looking for people to start the Order of Merlin. The Round Table was already selected, but the order was still a dream.

Now, he had decided to take the first step forward to his dream with these men.

"Tom, Adrian, Ted and Edgar. What are your thoughts about the current state of the world? Magical one too." He asked them.

Bobby straightened his back, expecting what was to come. He was excited to be honest.

Tom relaxed in his seat, "It's not good, that's given. Humans lack humanity now. But I think we were always like this, just because now we have news media, we are seeing all this. I do sure hope that someday people can be less destructive and more cooperative. I don't know about the magical world."

"It's the same." Ted started.

"I'm myself a victim of blood supremacists. My wife still fears that someday they will come after her and me. I hope someday we can rise above these petty disputes and look for a better future. I mean, look at what Magnus has done with a handful of wizards coming together, can't imagine if the whole wizardkind started to do it." Ted said in a hopeful tone.

Bobby nodded continuously, "I bet our planet would look like those in science fiction."

"But why are you asking us all this?" Adrian asked. Being an ex-auror, he knew all this was leading to somewhere.

Magnus took out a few documents from his bag. They were written in old English and the pages were also of unusual thickness.

These were handmade by Magnus and had magic in them. They were delicately made with the help of runes inlaid on them. Merlin had taught him to make these with the help of the old book.

It wasn't something overpowering. There was no such thing as a Magical Binding Contract. This paper does only one thing. If the signatory breaks it, Magnus will be notified. This way he can at least take countermeasures at the quickest.

The four read them, taking their time. Magnus spoke at the same time. "It might sound strange but I am still well connected with Merlin. I won't tell how, but know that I can talk to him. And we realised that we share the same dream. Which is the betterment of all beings on this planet.

"For exactly this purpose, he had formed the Order of Merlin a thousand years ago. But slowly or let's say knowingly, all the people who opposed him erased the genuine purpose of this Order. These powerful people were against everything Merlin stood for. Equality, charity, humanity, all these were foreign concepts to these people drowned in greed.

"And now, Order of Merlin is just a small medal that isn't even that symbolic anymore, since you can buy it."

"Why do you think you can do what Merlin couldn't?" Ted inquired in good faith.

Magnus replied, "Merlin started late. He had many things to deal with as those times required his attention in multiple places. I am different, I have started early and all my dreams are a sub-part of this goal.

"I have once again, created the Order of Merlin. It's not the same as the ministry, it just has the same name. But let's call this the main Order, for now, a secretive order. Our goal is simple. To achieve peace and harmony in both magical and muggle worlds. Use magic, technology and intelligence to help the world move forward. Stop wars, bring peace, as simple as that.

"And for starters, I want you four to join me. Bobby, Ragnar, Severus Snape are already members. I am very selective and careful in choosing people. Now I have decided on you four because I think I understand you.

"Now to what you will get in return. For your services, you will have all the resources of the Order and my personal assistance in achieving your life dreams. You can decline too if you don't feel comfortable." Magnus explained to them in great detail, not leaving anything out.

*WOOSH*

Adrian in an instant signed the document, leaving everyone else in shock.

*Blink Blink"

Adrian chuckled, "I love my job, and if joining the Order can make my job go international, and also be able to use my ability for the betterment of the world, I'll be very content with my life.

"Other than this, I trust you, Magnus. You saved my life and helped me start this new one. I will not forget your kindness, because I know the kind of person you are."

Ted signed it next. "Being a part of the Order of Merlin? The real one? I will be basically a part of History now. Not to mention, I have already achieved my life's dream. Now if I can do something for the world, that's the cherry on top. And I think if I don't sign this my wife is never going to let me enter the house."

"Haha... I need to come to your house and meet Mrs Tonks and your daughter. I always wonder about the person you fear so much." Magnus planned.

"Amazing, I can't wait for her to become your biggest fan and scold me more." Ted sarcastically said.

Next, Tom also signed. "I didn't really have many dreams and wishes. But I like the feeling of helping people. And now that you have helped me reach this rank, I can help people more and on a bigger level."

Only Edgar was left. But he signed it too. His reasoning was simple. "I joined you to help and save the Muggleborn wizards in the first place. By doing this, I'll be achieving my goal anyway. I also like my current work. Who knew construction could be so much fun."

Magnus happily collected the papers and snapped his finger. Abe instantly appeared with lots of drinks.

"Then let's celebrate, the creation of the Order of Merlin. MAY WE PROSPER!"

Everyone lifted their glasses, "MAY WE PROSPER!"

And so, history was created that day. With the formation of the first generation of the 'real' Order of Merlin.
