《Harry Potter: Blood of the Dragon 》Chapter 129: Happy Hunting

"You want to buy Nimbus?" Mr Whitehorn asked to be sure again. His business was going very well and he had no reason to sell it.
"But... I don't want to." He said.
Magnus tried to convince him, "But you need to. They will certainly come after you, not for your business but for your personal life. You are a pureblood family that does not support them. They will call you a blood traitor and come after you.
"But they will not come after you if you are related to me, so I will buy 50 per cent of your business, making us partners. This way, an attack on you will be an attack on me."
Mr Whitehorn was taken aback "But... why would you take such a risk for me?"
"Because I don't want anything to happen to you all just because Emma is my friend. Also, I am already in a fight with them, either way, we will be against each other." He explained.
Mr Whitehorn looked at his wife to ask for a suggestion but she immediately replied, "What are you waiting for? Our family lives come above everything else. Sell the whole company if you have to."
But Magnus tried to calm her down, "Don't worry, Mrs Vanity, I am not taking the company forever. As soon as all this Death Eater debacle ends, I will return everything to you. I am ready to make an Unbreakable Vow if you need it."
"I TRUST YOU." Emma blurted.
-_-
~She's crazy~ Magnus thought to himself.
"I trust you too. You came here to help us, it would be foolish to ignore your warnings. And considering what has been happening all this time, I think they would surely come after me one way or another." Mr Whitehorn reiterated.
"And you do not need to worry about the company. I am not just buying it, but I am also investing in it. We will make Nimbus an international brand now. You should use the money you will get from selling the 50 per cent for research and development of new brooms that will be many generations ahead of the current one." Magnus advised him. He was also an enthusiast of brooms after all, but none of them felt as fast to really give him an adrenaline rush.
Mr Whitehorn was happy, and Emma was also happy. Just like her father, she loved flying on brooms and was also studying how to make them.

After this serious discussion was done, they again went back to celebrating Emma's birthday. After that, they returned to the shop.
But, as soon as they reached there, they found a few masked men trashing the shop. Ragnar was the first to arrive at the shop, so he instinctively took out a vial from his pocket and threw the contents at the three masked men.
"STOP, YOU SCUMS!" He shouted. The three men were shocked, but now they found themselves unable to move. That's what Ragnar's potion did. Once it covers someone it hardens so strongly that nothing except another potion made by Ragnar can remove it.
Soon after, everyone else also returned. Magnus walked to the three men and took their masks off.
"What do we have here? Death Eaters? Do you know what I do to Death Eaters?" Magnus sounded dangerous.
But he had never seen these three men in his life and they were probably just some thugs hired by Lucius to do this. Lucius was smart enough to not do such things himself.
The three men also recognised Magnus' face as he would appear in the newspaper every week for one reason or another.
"Wait... we were paid to do this. We are not Death Eaters." they defended themselves.
"And how can I trust what you say? For all I know, you are just trying to save yourselves." Magnus argued and took out his sword.
The three started shivering, knowing that Magnus had a very good track record of killing Death Eaters.
"NO NO... We are not lying. We live in Knockturn Alley. A masked man gave us these masks and gave us some money to do this task." They confessed.
"And you took that money? That person was a Death Eater. And I own Nimbus Broom Company, should I consider this attack a personal attack on me?" Magnus said, intimidating them.
"SILVER HAIR... The man had silver hair," they added.
Magnus nodded, sure enough, it was Lucius. But he had no place for these men. He looked at Mr Whitehorn, "Call the Aurors, doesn't matter if they did it for someone else, they broke the law."
Internally though Magnus took a sigh of relief, this was not a big attack and they just tried to spoil the shop which was easily repairable. But he must make sure that no other attack occurs.

"Ragnar, send a letter to Rita, telling her that I now own Nimbus broom company. Tell her to publish it in the newspaper." Magnus instructed. Rita was still his pawn as she tried to betray him once.
...
Gringotts,
There were different kinds of Goblins living in Gringotts. On the top floor at the main building, all the Goblins were more like bureaucrats, but those that lived near the forge were true warriors, the true powerhouse of the Goblins. They were proficient in various kinds of martial magic and the use of weapons.
They were not allowed to use wands by law but they could turn their weapons into less powerful wands. Adding to the enchantments, they were as a collective species very powerful, which was the reason they were not turned into what Elfs were.
The leader of the warrior and smith goblins was called Old Mace. But this was not his real name. His name was unknown. His favourite choice of weapon was a big Mace and he was old but very strong, so strong that even one wave of his mace at someone's head would turn it into a paste. Old Mace was also very tall for a goblin.
He sat in his office, reading a strange pamphlet that he found on the terrace of the Gringotts.
"Hmm... what a strange way to call for someone's death. But... these bounties are indeed very lucrative. Hundred thousand just for catching a wizard? Ah, didn't this Rudolphus lose a hand to Merlin's descendant? This bounty must be released by him too. HAHAHA... what a strange boy." He laughed alone and then put the poster in his pocket.
He got up and went out to find his strongest warriors. There were just 5 of them, his personal students. He saw them as his own children.
"Sons, look at these." He threw the posters at them but kept the one belonging to Rudolphus.
The 5 goblins looked at them with greedy eyes. The first thing they looked at was the money offered.
"All of them are Death Eaters. We will be hunting them now, such opportunities to make quick money don't come every day. 50,000 galleons is not a small amount after all. Any questions?" Old Mace strongly briefed them.
"Old Mace, won't this officially make us an ally of the White Wizards? I thought we will stay neutral." one of the goblins asked.
Old Mace scoffed, "Huh, that's wishful thinking. If we do not help the wizards defeat this Dark Lord, then when the Dark Lord wins and gathers more power, he will come after us. Remember, unlike the current Wizarding community, a community under the Dark Lord will have no morals or laws. They will do what they like to.
"They will make us even worse than 3rd class citizens. But do not forget who else is fighting the Dark Lord, His Majesty. He hates the ministry and the dark lord even more than us. And from what I know, he recently took two house elfs with himself. The recent time the two elfs were seen, they were happy and wearing new and clean clothes.
"Besides this, don't you read the newspaper? That Rita Skeeter talks so much about him. How he treats even owls so kindly. I have no doubt that he is worth supporting, besides, don't forget, our ancestors also supported Merlin."
After his long speech, each goblin there was pumped.
"LET'S KILL THEM!"
"LET'S KILL THEM!"
"HAPPY HUNTING!"
"HAPPY HUNTING!"
They started chanting and waving their weapons in the air. Old Mace proudly looked at his sons, already dreaming of the riches.
...
Back in the shop, the Aurors had come and taken the three men into custody. They would stand trial and be punished. They would either be sent to a normal prison or fined heavily. But Azkaban was not for them.
Magnus, after the incident, took Mr Whithorn to Gringotts and signed the deal. He bought 50 per cent of Nimbus Broom Company for 130,000 galleons. It was not a big amount for Magnus.
"Well, I will take my leave now. They shouldn't try anything stupid with you all, but still, stay vigilant. Just like what Moody says, CONSTANT VIGILANCE!" Magnus said goodbye to the family.
Martha again teleported them back to their house. But during all this, Magnus realised something.
~Wait... I don't feel anything while apparating now. Hmmm... It's time to learn it I guess.~

Meek
After failing as an apprentice cooper and a town guard, Eli finds his place at the Rockbridge archives. Sure, he's the oldest 'junior scribe,' but he likes the job. And he's good at it, too. Then he completes an apparently-insignificant project, and the brutal reaction shocks him--with consequences that eventually shake the world. Eli gains powers. Rare and inhuman abilities. He progresses slowly, steadily, and not without setbacks. He changes, too. Is he a hero, a villain, a human, a monster? Depends who you ask. Meek is an epic fantasy with elements of progression. The basic magic is simple: five Paths, each with a different powerset. However, complexity arises from combinations, and the protagonist wields a magic all his own. Meek is set in the Valley, the only (as far as anyone knows) human empire that survived a Final Battle against a terrible foe. The Valley is warded against infiltration, but the enemy learned how to warp human souls, to foment discord within. However, another soul is also ... changed. Perhaps even 'warped.' And that soul is starting on a long (long, long) path that might, one day, prove that the Final Battle wasn't so final after all.
