《Blood Evolution System 》Chapter 186: Wizard's meal (b)

"I think I heard you say something along the line of the family."
Nevis looked at Varth with eyes narrowed in suspicion. He clearly heard him say something, but he is now refusing to admit it. Something sure is fishy!
"It's probably your imagination. I didn't say a word."
Varth tried to brush it off, but his words only piqued the other party's curiosity.
"Your behavior is very suspicious. Now I want to know what you said!"
Nevis looked at him with squinted eyes, acting as if he was trying to see through him, trying to find out what he is hiding.
Having no intention of telling the sad story of his life that one could very well turn into a tragic novel, Varth turned away from his gaze and aggressively thought in his mind, "This damned unreasonable child!"
Nevis's gaze was so intense that he felt it searing his back.
With his back facing him, Varth expertly changed the subject by saying, "Listen well, the meat of ranked beasts is full of impurities but also medicinal, replenishing, and strengthening properties. Combined with the right amount of magical spices, herbs, and stuff, they create a Wizard's meal. Not only do these dishes taste more delicious than the ones made using the meat of farm animals, but there is also a chance for a person to gain temporary or permanent benefits after consuming them."
Swayed by the prospect of gaining knowledge not known before, the interest of the young man changer faster than the blink of an eye.
"What kind of benefits?" Nevis asked as he looked at him with eyes that desired to know more about the benefits of a Wizard's dish.
Feeling satisfied that he had managed to change the interest of the young man and finding the curiosity of his past self in him, feeling that Nevis is the boy he used to be, the one who used to hang around the man who taught him all that was to know about this world, Varth decided to bestow him more knowledge about this subject.

"You might gain an increase in your strength, gain temporary or permanent beneficial effects, get better and healthier or feel a burst of stamina filling your body while eating them. It depends on what type of beast's meat you're using and the type of ingredients."
"Then, what will I gain from eating what you're cooking."
"A temporary increase in your strength, flexibility, and defense. But you need to consume 3 kg of its meat."
The eyes of Nevis brightened when he heard the mystical effects of a wizard's dishes, all that was left was for him to experience it first hand.
After he finished decorating the plate with sauce and meat that smelled so great that the mouths of the humans and demi-humans watered unconsciously, Varth said, "Time to eat!"
He served a palate to each of them before he sat down with one in his hand.
"I've been waiting too long for this!"
"Time to taste the fruits of my efforts to control myself,"
"Thank you for the meal!"
They were talking too much and not even taking a bite out of the meat he prepared, causing him to feel a tinge of unhappiness. "Stop talking and dig in!"
An instant after the basilisk said those words, the humans and demi-humans used their knives to chop it up and pick a mouthful of it up towards their mouths.
"Mmm!" When the meat entered their mouth, tingled on their tongue, and exploded into a waft of aroma that assaulted them silly, their groans and moans of delight filled the hall, even though they had no intention of doing so.
They couldn't help it, however. After all, they felt as if thousands of firecrackers were bursting inside their bodies, making each fiber of their beings feel hot, warm, fuzzy, and extremely happy.

The boy, neither human nor vampire, but a mixture of both, was able to understand the cause of their delight. However, he wasn't able to enjoy it. Yet, he still kept on eating and occasionally moaning as if he was eating something truly incredible so that the harmony of this moment won't get destroyed.
[You've consumed the meat of a panther-type beast that is known for its agility]
[Your Flexibility, Speed, defense, and Reaction time has increased by 25%]
[The effect will disappear after three days]
To Vincent's surprise, although the food tasted blank, it truly did increase his strength temporarily. Wizard's dishes, he no longer doubted the meal's capability or considered it frivolous. Now, he only had praise left for it.
"Splendid! Truly, splendid."
After Vincent praised him, the rest of them also applauded his extreme dish.
Although a mask covered his face, the basilisk indeed smiled.
It's been too long, too long since he last shared such a meal with a group.
Vincent teasingly touched Leilani, and she turned to look at him with eyes that asked what's wrong?
Vincent teasingly touched Leilani, and she turned to look at him. His eyes looked into her's as if trying to convey something, and she stared right back at him with eyes that asked what's wrong?
His lips thinned into a smile. "You got the sauce all over your face."
"Eh?" Leilani hurried to wipe it off her face, but she repeatedly missed the mark.
Seeing her going silly, his smile stretched from ear to ear.
He raised his hands and gently grabbed her face, moving it to face him and holding it in place.
"Let me help you." He said before he started to attentively wipe the sauce off the sides of her cheeks. He said before he started to wipe the sauce off the sides of her cheeks. The pretty woman's eyes opened wide enough to turn to complete rounds. He found her cute and squished her irresistible cheeks. She was so lost in her surprise that she forgot to free herself from his teasing.
The basilisk could also see a part of their intimacy reflected off from John and Iris.
He remembered the happiness he had already lost when he looked at their smiling faces and intimate actions.
By the time the basilisk took his eyes off the others and focused on his surroundings, he saw Nevis looking straight at him. Although he was startled, he remained seated in his place, not even a single disturbance appearing in his esoteric breathing pattern.
"If you have something to say, then say it."

The Ingress Estate
Jonathon Eucole. Soldier. Scholar. Now an Initiate, the dedication without dedication, he finds himself both prisoner and master of an arcane edifice, the Ingress Estate, which can neither be escaped, nor controlled; only diverted, maintained, and pacified. This is a gothic fantasy story, set in a world in which gods and the afterlife are not only real and known, but were both established in living memory of some of the inhabitants after millennia of arcane warfare with the being who constructed the mundane reality the humans occupy. But this isn't the story of those who colonized the afterlife at the cost of their own humanity, but a somewhat more ordinary man, in somewhat extraordinary circumstances. This is also a LitRPG-lite, which means there's a system of sorts, fragments of which can be observed through Jonathon's eyes. Don't expect level-up screens, or statistics, or indeed numbers much at all, beyond those the inhabitants of the world itself apply to understanding their own reality. It pretty much doesn't matter to the story, I mention it so those who don't want to read LitRPG at all can successfully avoid it here. I don't have any particular plan here, just some ideas inherent in the genre. This is a character concept I toyed with some years ago; an old man, bright of mind but weighed down into apathy, both by his past and his responsibilities for a terrible estate that cannot be left without stewardship. Don't expect any kind of overarching plot or story, because that's really not what this is about. Also don't expect much dialogue. Or character development. Or much of anything, really, because I've planned nothing in the way of an actual book, here. Other relevant information, if you've read this far for some reason: The MC isn't super-powerful to begin with, and probably never will be. He's a veteran with some useful skills, and the insight on how to use them, so can deal with the world's ordinary threats reasonably well, but not too much beyond that. --- Currently on hiatus, as currently the story has a rather poor ratio of effort-to-personal-payoff. I may return to this once I have a clear idea of how to get the stories where I want them. I've started a more standard LitRPG using the same system. But if you like intelligence characters who cleverly min-max their classes, it probably isn't the story for you; it's the story of a rather ordinary guy who winds up in a very similar universe.

Depravity and Debauchery in the Southern Kingdoms
In a fantasy world of peace and prosperity, the elves decide the world is too diverse and create terrible weapons of mass destruction to corrupt the other races and maintain their superiority. Centuries later, they have completed their designs, but they didn't account for the everlasting influence of corruption, as it now creeps into their lands. This is the story of what men with no morals and nothing to lose set free upon the world after excessive consumption of both natural and unnatural substances. Corruption, vice and perversion haunt our protagonist. Will one writer fight against the terrible evil and obscenity, or will he fall to the depravity and debauchery of the southern Kingdoms? This story is about a bunch of terrible characters doing a bunch of terrible things. It will not be long, but I hope is an entertaining read!

The Princess And Her Warmonger
"Let me tell you a true story about a mouse and a Warmonger, and the unlikely relationship that sprouted between them in the time of endless war." Nostalisk is a world in endless constant war. The Factions of this world endlessly fight for power, this fighting called the Great Wars, a war that has been alive for over four million years. Currently, one of the largest Factions has withdrawn from the endless fighting. This Faction, known as the Kingdom, hopes to forget their past of endless bloodshed and how they were almost destroyed because of it. In the Kingdom, Princess Isalene, the only princess of the Kingdom, is stuck choosing a new personal guard after her previous one died. Despite her father, King Robert, helping her choose a new guard, Isalene decides to head to the arena to see how the knights on the list her father gave her act outside of the eyes of royals. When she arrives at the arena, she sees a knight fighting that is not on the list her father gave her. Named Cruel Knight, this knight is a vicious knight with confusing morals. Despite hating violence, Princess Isalene can't help but be drawn to the knight and their graceful yet cruel fighting style and strange weapons. Princess Isalene continues to watch them and soon learns that Cruel Knight is a Warmonger named Sharia, and is female at that, meaning she is a prisoner. She isn't in there for something simple as disobeying a direct order or killing a noble, but for prolonging a war. Despite knowing this, Princess Isalene can't stop thinking about the Warmonger and suddenly gets a "smart" idea. She'll make Sharia her new personal guard to find out more about her! What could go wrong? And so begins the odd relationship between Sharia The Warmonger and Princess Isalene. One is a peace-loving sheltered naive princess who hates violence and the other is a vicious, cold, twisted, and cruel Warmonger who hates the kind of peace Isalene and the current Kingdom loves. Polar opposites. Yet, even the Warmonger can't help but grow a strange liking to her new "annoyance". But, can the two really get along? After all, Sharia's whole mindset sees Isalene as a waste, and it seems that everyone Isalene talks to tells her to fire Sharia before something terrible happens. But, then again, during this time of budding danger, this odd couple may be what the Kingdom needs. After all, when a large faction such as the Kingdom starts growing soft and weak, they become a rather irresistible target. [After thinking on it, I decided to start a re-write of The Princess And Her Warmonger, adding more details, fixing the switching POVs somewhat, and fixing some of the issues with the story. Don't worry, all of the chapters are still here, I am just making new ones and replacing the old chapters one at a time] (This story can also be found on Scribble Hub and Webnovel) [Cover art is not mine]
