《Blood Evolution System 》Chapter 170: Fifth Wave, Surprise!

You heard what she said, do you guys wanna give up so that I can accept her offer, go to the treasure hall and get the fruit of life for John or do you guys want to continue with this trial and face greater danger to get more out of this place?" Vincent said while looking at his teammates, motioning them to make a judgment in a hurry as they didn't have much time on their hands.
"Let's decide this by vote. We would either continue or give up according to the choice of the majority. Is that alright with you guys?" John said.
"Alright," Leilani said, agreeing to make a decision based on votes.
"Sure," Nevis also agreed with John on this matter.
"That's great," Iris said, happy to see that no internal conflict happened at such a time.
"We've already come this far. What's the use of backing down now? Although we got a lot of treasures along the way, I believe that they would pale in comparison to the ones we would get from the treasure hall. I say, let's continue with the trials. I'm intent on seeing things through to the very end!" Varth said, choosing to fight this and the next trial to get the best reward that a person can get from the trials of Roselia.
"Buddy, I am with him! The items we would obtain after completing all the trials might as well change our lives. Roselia isn't no one. She is the companion of the greatest hero to ever exist! Every single one of her items might as well be legendary!" Nevis said, taking Varth side.
Iris shook her head, signifying that she is unwilling to continue with the trials. She said, "I don't have many magic scrolls left with me. I don't think it's a good idea to continue. Anyway, what we came here for is right in front of us. We can get the fruit of life for John and get out of this place. It's better than risking our life, not knowing whether we will manage to make it out alive through the next few monster waves or not.

"Okay, that's understandable, but no one is going to gain anything without risk," Vincent said to Iris before he looked at John and continued by saying, "John, what about you?"
John flinched a bit as he felt nervous when he noticed that he is being gazed at by both Iris and Vincent. He took a deep breath, remembering that he had always been a burden on his sister, and then on Vincent after they met in the orphanage.
Do I want to be a burden again and pull them away from gaining an item that can help them a lot in the future, just because I would be able to get the fruit of life for sure and awaken?
No!
John was tired of everyone sacrificing themselves in many ways for him.
So, he decided that he would no longer make them sacrifice themselves for him, and he said, "I want to stay!"
"What about you?" Vincent asked while looking at his girlfriend, Leilani.
"Whatever you choose is my answer," Leilani answered with an amiable smile on her face, making Vincent skip a heartbeat with her words laced with sweetness.
Since everyone has given their response, Vincent turned towards the Purple Fairy Melody to announce his decision: "I don't want to back down. Sorry, Purple Fairy Melody, but we will be tackling this and the next trial head-on instead of running away from them!"
"Hehe, I see. Congratulations!" She said smilingly, feel good and bad at the same time about their choice. Good because she felt that someone worthy to take away the items of her master is intent on challenging all the trials. Bad because she failed to fool mere teenagers.
"Huh?" They felt a bit taken aback by her words, unable to understand why she congratulated them.

"You guys don't get it, do you? You've defeated the fifth wave! That's why I congratulated you!"
As soon as she said those words, everyone felt confused, and they turned to look at her with an expression of bewilderment.
When did they complete the fifth wave? Before she appeared, they had only defeated four waves of monsters, so what's this about the fifth wave? Is she making things up, trying to make a fool out of them?
'Wait, could she be the fifth wave? Nah, that's such a silly thought. How stupid must I be to compare a fairy who does nothing but talk, chatter, and eat one's ears out to a monster wave?' Vincent thought, shaking his kick, kicking such thoughts to the back of his head.
John's eyes blinked in confusion, and he asked, "When did we do that!"
"Silly kids, you look so funny when you're confused, hahaha! The fifth wave started the moment I appeared in this hall. I am the fifth wave. The name of this monster wave is to make a choice. If you hadn't decided before the time ran out, then you would have lost the trial, getting kicked out of the castle and thrown far away from the Mysterious Violet Forest. If you choose to give up, then you would've failed and also gotten nothing! There was only one correct decision, and that was to charge head-on!"
Their lips remained parted open as they came to a realization, understanding what she meant by her words and thanking God that they made the right choice.
"Oh, she has been trying to play us from the very start! What a cheeky fairy!" Varth said under his breath, a bit taken aback by her tactics.
As he had traveled to many worlds and explored many planets, he had met many creatures, exotic and whatnot, so he knew that fairies, in general, were playful, beautiful, but honest, not liars like this one.
She also seemed a bit out of her mind, crazy, he meant to say, a far cry from the noble beings in his memories.

The Monster Inside: The First Vampire
Despite appearances, there was once a time where monsters did not exist. Where peace and prosperity reigned over all life. They wanted to taint it, corrupt it, revel in its dark side. This is the story of a boy who was tainted. Of a boy who unintentionally bore a seed of sin and who in his naivety let it out. This is the story of how that boy was shamed and disgraced. Of how he was outcast for simply being. This is the story of how that boy learned to embrace the darkness that made him different. A darkness that would later make him known as the Lord of Night. Note to Reader: I understand this book is not for everyone, if there is a writer that can write to please everyone, I have never heard of them. The MC can be frustrating in his decisions as he learns to grow and accept what and who he is. I believe this reality is unavoidable. That being said, if you feel the need to give a review, please do so, just know that I will report you if all that review seems to do is blab toxic language and insult my literary choices without giving constructive advice or alternatives. That's not just a me policy, that's a policy of this website. I'm not writing this note because I'm a writer who does not acknowledge that there are faults in my work. I know there are. That's what happens when it hasn't been professionally edited by someone other than the author. I'm saying this because I'm sick of reading 1 star or 0.5 star rated reviews that seem to do nothing but hate on the book because they don't like the story. No comments on grammar, ways to improve or suggestions for better story arcs. Just plain hate. It's not on, and I frankly shouldn't have to write this note, but needed to get it off my chest. In saying all that, thank you to those who do leave reviews that don't fall into the above category. Your appreciation of my work, or alternatively, your willingness to give advice for improvement, is appreciated.

But fate doesn't let it be that simple. He gets a hidden unique class, but that class has a special ability, one that randomizes all his stats whenever it wants? What? The world truly can't be fair to him. Not even in a game. Now he has to figure out a way to make this odd quirk of his class work. When he smiles, the world loves him. When he laughs, the world fears him. (and that was my stab at trying to imitate those chinese synopses) Regular chapters, once or twice per week. On the weekends usually. I will finish this novel, be it takes 1 year or 2. It will get a proper ending. Afterall, the ending is paramount. Also, the readers might feel rewarded if they look closely while reading. I try to be quite mindful and put in interesting details or things that would come into play later. And, personally i think that reviews on this site might as well be pointless. Unless you know the reviewer and think that you share his views. Your thoughts on a particular thing (like a novel) can differ from others. So, do give it a try before arbitrarily deciding. This is my try to perfect the 'master of all/everything' type of MC, inside a proper, realistic VR world, from a game design perspective and immersion and no convenient 'convert gold to irl currency' button. It is going to be a game first of all. Not a fantasy world overloaden with status screens and skills you can't possibly keep track of. A game with all of the real world aspects to it. Not a cheap fantasy world with shoehorned in stats.

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
