《Psycho X Psychic 》Chapter 168: Playroom

"Oi, listen up! The Mayor is making a visit so you all better behave! It's Playroom for any of those who stick up like sore thumb!"
Warden Jalner shouted and took every prisoner's attention. His eyes were then cast towards the Alpha.
'Please, behave this time or both of us will go down!'
Unfortunately, he didn't notice the Alpha's different expression at that time.
"Woah, the mayor? This is a first."
Mesi watched as he ate his meal.
"I wonder if we can complain about the meals here having shit taste?"
Matthew pondered.
Derek was simply quiet and his squinted eyes were suspiciously looking at Teren. The latter though stood up.
"You finish already?"
Mesi asked.
"No, I'm going to the toilet."
"Oh, hahaha, you're finally changing your mind? When you first saw it, disgust is written all over your face!"
"I'm not going to use the jail's toilet."
Teren slightly smiled.
"... huh? What's that suppose to mean?"
Without responding to Mesi's question, Teren went to the exit where the Mayor just came in. Everyone was glancing at the Mayor but then saw Teren.
"Teren, where are you going!?"
Matthew stood up and felt like Teren was a puppy who couldn't stay on one spot.
"Let him."
Derek said.
"Huh!?"
Both Matthew and Mesi looked at Derek with questioning eyes.
Soon, gasps could be heard. The three looked and Mesi saw someone very familiar. It was the right-hand of his late father.
He stood up and follow as well.
"Teren, we're out of here."
Uncle Jo didn't call Teren 'Boss Hark' after seeing the signal from Teren's eyes.
"Wait!"
At first, the Mayor was the main character, taking everyone's attention. But after Uncle Jo and Dennis followed in, there were gasps that followed as many recognized the Handwing Gang's Hardfist Jo.

Afterward, Teren met up with him. At that point, only an idiot wouldn't think that Teren isn't the Devil Himself. Fear has crawled into their backs. As if jinxed, an idiot then entered the scene.
"Uncle Jo..."
"Hm? Mesi? You're here?" Uncle Jo was visibly surprised when he immediately recognized the son of his previous boss.
But Mesi no longer spared him a glance. With a serious expression, he stared at Teren's eyes.
"Teren, are you really not the person they call the Devil Himself?"
"..."
"..."
Everyone was stupefied by his question. Is he really acting like an idiot?
"I'm not."
Teren simply shook his head again.
"..." this time, it took Mesi a moment before he nodded, "Okay, sorry for asking you a second time. But it seemed that you're acquainted with Uncle Jo, though?"
"Yeah"
"Hm... well, if you learn about the Devil Himself, you'd gain my favor if you'd tell me though."
Teren smiled and nodded back, "Okay, that's a promise."
"Deal!" Mesi smiled back, wider than Teren's. Before long, he turned his back and went to his seat. Everyone looked at him with strange eyes.
Once they've entered the front building, Teren was given his school uniform back - the one he was wearing when he was caught.
"Wait... Sir Jalner, I'm curious about this Playroom. Could you show it to me?"
Teren asked.
If only it was only Teren, Warden Jalner wouldn't even consider it. But since Teren was no longer a prisoner and with the Mayor behind his back, he could only say yes.
The others looked at each other, wondering why Teren would want to see the Playroom.
Once they've reached a specific room on the top floor in the first building, Warden Jalner opened an iron door and light entered the room, revealing the gray walls and a man who's holding baby toys. Those baby toys were just cubes though.

In that small room without light, there was only one man and three cubes. It was the man who offended Warden Jalner before.
Even though it was just a short time for them, it had been a few hours for the prisoner within it and he had already lost life in his eyes.
"This is the Playroom. It's for correcting prisoners." Warden Jalner simply explained. From one look, it was really an insanity-inducing room. No lights and with three objects to keep you 'company', this is the Playroom.
"Ohh... you, come out."
Teren pointed at the prisoner inside. It was the first time he practiced his power inside the jail. Warden Jalner was surprised, thinking that this kid might be full of himself. Is he trying to play a hero? But seeing the Mayor's agreeing eyes, Warden Jalner repeated.
"Didn't you hear to come out?"
"Ah? R-really!?"
The prisoner jumped up and out of the prison. The other guards cuffed him to bring him back to the cell. He still wouldn't be eating any lunch for today but that's already heaven's gift for the man.
Warden Jalner internally sighed. Having a kid decide what to do in this place was something he didn't expect. When he was about to ask what was that all about-
"Ack!"
He felt a kick on his behind and he dropped into the Playroom.
"What!?"
Just as Warden Jalner was about to stand up, he saw that even the Mayor was surprised by this. No, even if the Mayor didn't have a problem with this, this is still not right!
"You!"
He glared at Teren but what he saw was the key in his hands.
"Huh? When did you-"
An eerie sound was produced as the key that Teren hold between his two fingers bent. Warden Jalner had considered that it may be a plastic duplicate... but-
Clang*
Teren threw it in front of him, the sound when it hit the concrete floor revealed that it's really the iron key to the Playroom.
What's the meaning of this? Warden Jalner was stupefied for a short time. The reality of iron being bent by two mere fingers of a child had yet to sink in but when he realized that the door was closing, Warden Jalner felt despair.
"WAIT!"
Thud*
The iron door closed and was locked. Slamming sounds could be heard from within along with a faint voice... even though Warden Jalner was shouting at the top of his lungs.
"Let's go."
Teren said and walked out of there. The rest then followed without looking back except for the Mayor who was profusely sweating.
'This is the first time I've seen the Devil Himself....'
He gulped as he felt a cold chill in his heart.

Twoen
The struggle for an interesting game has been the story of my life for quite some time. Every game I find is either too easy, not interesting or too short. Luckily, my two brothers who match my level of skill, albeit in different areas, tend to spice things up. When I look at my older brother I have no idea how he gets anything done when he's such an idiot. Still it doesn't detract from my respect for him as a gamer, though maybe a little. When I look at my younger brother I marvel at the monster that my older brother and I created. Deadliness, craftiness and quiet, both in what he does and how he is. When it's just us three we tend to destory everything in our path. So normally we tend to compete rather than team. Although that isn't to say we're just good as individuals. When we work together our effectiveness multiplies rather than lowering. Well enough about us dorks. Anyway a new VR game came out, apparently in development for quite some time. Of course my older brother decided to drive out and buy three copies. What would this one be missing? Difficulty? Depth? Length? In any case I plan to reach the top before my brothers do. It was a competition after all. Twoen had all three things I normally yearn for in spades. Something I did not foresee. A keeper
