《Psycho X Psychic 》Chapter 165: He's the Devil Himself!

Seeing the trio in front of him, Alph, the Alpha's actual name, gritted his teeth.
'Damn it! I want to talk to him immediately and quickly resolve this misunderstanding!'
"He's angry..."
Matthew cracked his neck. He didn't lose out to the Alpha.
"Matthew, do you want to get beaten up again?"
Alph sharply said. He seemed impatient. He was normally cool-headed that even his followers don't know what's happening to him or the reason for his irritation.
"Think your still the hot shit, Matthew? Your time already ended when the leader stepped into the stage!"
The First Beta spat out.
"Hoh-oh, just because you beat me up fifteen times already, doesn't mean that I lose!"
Matthew hot-bloodedly said.
"Uh? No, it means you lose fifteen times."
"We won't know that!"
"Oh, come on, Matthew! Mesi can't even hit back and Derek is all-brains which is basically useless in this place! I can't beat you one-on-one but this is about numbers, can't that pass through your thick-head!?"
"Tsk! I can't deny that."
Matthew's expression turned ugly.
"Deny it! He's saying I'm useless!" Mesi retorted.
"Mesi, it's okay. I'll give you the carrots on our meal."
Matthew patted him.
"Wow! You know I hate carrots! Bwah! But let's talk about carrots later!"
"Oh..." Matthew glared at Alph again and asked once more, "I ask you, what are you going to do with the child?"
"That's none of your business! Get out or I'll actually get angry!"
Alph's face turned red as veins popped out.
'Come on! Just let me pass through!'
"But Leader, why in the room?"
The First Beta asked, he was as curious as Matthew.
"Tsk! Are you questioning me too, Carionne?"
Alph glared at the First Beta as well. If they had to explain it, he looked like he was about to shit his pants at any moment and they were blocking his way to the bathroom.

"Just beat them up and make way!"
Alph shouted since that explanation wasn't far-off. Just a little more and he will shit himself. Behind him was like a dagger pointed at his heart. He felt the more things get delayed, the more it gets closer.
For him, it was life and death! But even then, he was unable to put down his pride. He was determined to put it down once it was only him and the devil in one room.
As for being alone with the devil, Alph's aware that it doesn't matter. If the Devil Himself wants it, he would be killed even if everyone in this prison was to defend him.
Hearing the Alpha's order, the Pack didn't have any choice but to surround Matthew, Mesi, and Derek.
"Can't even answer a simple question, ey!?"
Matthew charged as well, not caring about being outnumbered. Meanwhile, Mesi was trembling and just stayed there but no one really touched him. Derek was able to fight back but his strength was far from Matthew.
Seeing the beating, many cheered.
"To my room."
Alph said as his followers made a path. Matthew was like a berserker. No matter who is it, he would punch and go on a rampage. Even three men were having trouble keeping him down.
'None of them are using their Spirits...'
Teren noticed but just followed Alph.
But before they were able to get into the building, there was a shriek that erupted.
"I remember now! He's Teren Hark! The Devil Himself who killed the Ogre and destroyed the Hidden Wolves!"
This stopped everything. The cheering, the fighting, and even Alph.
"What? That kid?"
"Yes! I was a former Handwing Member!"
"Seriously? I thought you're just delusional."
"He is, he is the infamous Devil Himself!"

Eyes then fell onto Teren. There was a deafening silence. Somehow, this explained the Alpha's behavior.
"W-wait, Leader, is that true...!?"
They asked Alph who now had a darkened expression.
"Yes"
Gasps could be heard and those near him took a step back, giving him space. They have heard about the Devil Himself.
The Greatest Evil in Heren City.
"W-wait!"
Matthew shouted as he pulled.
"Mesi, control yourself!"
However, even with Matthew's strength, Mesi just continued to walk forward Teren.
Even Teren was visibly shaken. It was because of what his Spirit of Sensitivity picked up. It was a spike of malice. This was nothing compared to when Mesi learned that he's a murderer.
"Teren Hark... are you really the Devil Himself?"
Mesi asked with a grim expression.
"L-leader, what's happening to Mesi? I thought he's a coward?"
The First Beta asked Alph.
"Tsk! Why do you think we haven't touched the second building? Because of Matthew?"
"Wait, I don't understand, this is too sudden. Is that why you always told us not to hit him? I thought it's because you pitied the coward..."
"He's also an Aberrant. He's one of our biggest buyers back then." Alph explained, shocking the one who asked.
"Y-you mean he got Spirits from the girl?"
"Yeah. He came here to directly purchased bulk from me."
"..."
They all looked at Mesi and felt that he was a different guy as he stood in front of Teren.
"What... Spirits did he buy?"
"What Spirits? My niece only 'produces' one type of Spirit, Spirit of Ghoul."
Teren heard this and he answered Mesi.
"No"
"...."
"...."
Alph profusely sweated. If a fight broke out between Teren and Mesi, he wouldn't know who would win and everyone will fall into danger.
"Ah, I thought you're the one who killed my dad."
Mesi then sighed in relief.
"... can I know who's he?"
"His name is Bastion..." Mesi said with a sad smile, "He was the boss of the Handwing Gang before. Everyone calls him the Ogre. But you don't need to be sorry!" he laughed, "That father of mine was trash, after all."
"Then, why do you want revenge?"
"Hmm... even if he's trash. You know, he's still my father."
Mesi showed a sad smile again...
'Thank god he's an idiot!'
Alph gulped.
"He's still your father, huh..." Teren muttered.

Living in Paradise
The first thing I saw when I woke up was a group of people standing over me shouting "Happy Birthday!!!". Immediately after they start debating what type of world I came from and calling me 'William'. Later on I would learn that everyone here is reborn from another world and many children come with magic or superpowers or other gifts leftover from their old lives. I came from a world that was, to me, typical modernity. To them it was pretty boaring with the only thing interesting about my world being was a higher than average tech level for a non-spacefaring civilization; technology that wouldn't even work in this new world. All I brought with me was a peculiar mindset and the strong suspicion that there must be something more to life. Once everyone started to clear out my mother took me up in her arms, explained how the world works, and then stabbed me in the neck with a knife. I got better. -------------------- This story was written from the central idea of a simple question: What if a videogame like world, with all the normal video-game staples and tropes, was actually a real world? How would that work? How would people understand the universe around them? What sort of weirdness would the world appear to have from the point of view of someone who recognizes the odd nature of the place? And finally, if left to its own devices, how would this type of world ultimately develop?

Makemake
"Makemake—a planet that is found in the far edges of the system known as Sol—was once a metropolis, like all of the other planets that populate the system. Now, like all of the others, it lies as a Sleeping City, forever dormant. No one lives there anymore—it has been vacant for years. In one of the massive cities that used to have a population that was in high numbers a sound could be heard. A distant sound. A beep, or a call, a message—whatever it was, it was an electronic noise. It echoed through the dust cloud filled landscape. The sound went on for a long time. It sat in a sea of quiet; no other noise rolled over the hills and bounced off the ground—only that noise. Only that beep."
