《Psycho X Psychic 》Chapter 29: Scary Classmates

Teren leaned forward and whispered like he always does.
"After all, I planned to kill you from the start."
"Eek..."
Iesa sipped on her juice. She didn't see Nick's reaction. She only thought one thing.
'I should've just sat on the other side. I can't see his scary face... so cool...'
Nick tried hard not to cry.
At first, he thought that Iesa was going to be an obstacle. Then later, he was glad that Iesa was here since that would reduce the chance of Teren attacking him, he thought. Then, finally, he wished Iesa was not there.
'I can't let her see me cry!'
Iesa: 'I've already heard you go wimp in your thoughts though. Don't worry, it's not your fault. Teren is just too scary.'
Teren then sat back again.
"I'm trying to change. So as an apology, you can call me to you with anything." he smiled.
However, Iesa felt a little sour.
Nick's face twitched while his eyes were teary.
'What? Seriously? I hope he can be trusted, I have suffered enough!'
"Do you have anything you want me to do?" Teren asked.
Nick looked around.
"I... can't say it here."
"I know a place that has privacy here." Iesa answered.
"Or you can just text it me." Teren put up his phone.
Iesa frowned.
"No, you can just talk in private."
"..."
"Okay..."
Thus, Iesa followed Teren and Nick followed the two.
'Have Iesa Hun been influenced by this psychopath!? I saw it that day. Iesa was scared of him that she ran away. Did Teren catch up to her and did something!?'
His fists clenched when he thought about this. Although he just like Iesa because of her looks, Nick still couldn't handle the thought that such an innocent woman like her fell into the hands of this psychopath because of him.

'Influenced by Teren? I don't think that's the case though. Furthermore, that's what you get for bullying. I guess, even bullies like you have their limits and morals.' Iesa thought.
Going to the emergency stairs, Lina spotted them. The class president was expecting them to use that spot. When she was about to give up on waiting, she finally saw the three.
When the three entered there, she followed.
"I don't think someone can hear us here. What is it?" Teren sat on his usual seat back when he tried to corner Iesa. But this time, Iesa was sitting beside him while Nick was at the lower level.
Nick gulped and nodded. When he was about to speak, Iesa raised her hand.
Teren raised his eyebrow when Iesa stood up and exited to see Lina hiding and seemingly eavesdropping too.
"What are you doing here, prez?" Iesa asked.
However, Lina didn't back down.
"Didn't I tell you that it is forbidden there?"
"But I thought you will only reprimand us if there's something inappropriate, right?"
"..."
Lina was speechless at first before she smiled.
"Then if there's nothing inappropriate..." she walked around Iesa and entered, "Let me join."
As she entered, she saw an unusual scene. Nick was at the bottom, sweating and nervous while Teren was sitting at the top calm and composed.
"What are you doing here, Teren?" she smiled.
Iesa entered right after and silently stared at Lina.
Teren smiled back, "Nothing, Nick just wanted to tell me something. However, he forgot what it was and now we're waiting for him to remember it."
"Is... is that so...." Lina then inwardly thought, 'Sloppy excuse that I cannot disprove.'
"Do you remember now, Nick?"
Nick was not dumb and shook his face.

"S-sorry. I will tell you once I remember it."
"Hm? Nick, why are you suddenly so meek and timid, today?" Lina suddenly asked so direct.
"Huh?"
Iesa soon replied.
"He just came from an accident. If that doesn't change you slightly, I don't think what will." she was still standing while Lina sat on where she sat earlier. Her eyes narrowed towards the class president.
"I guess, you're right. Nick, what kind of accident is it?"
Nick gulped and quivered.
'What's happening? When did these people get so scary? Although they're not as dangerous as Teren, I'm still getting the creeps from these two girls.'
"I don't think it's appropriate to ask that. It might be traumatic for him, no?" Iesa was the one who replied again.
"Excuse for me that then. But what are you the one answering, Iesa?" Lina turned around and two had eye contact.
There was a period of silence. Nick felt heavier with pressure while Teren scratched his head, not knowing what's happening. He only broke the silence when he asked Nick.
"Do you have free time later this day, Nick?"
"Y-yeah..."
"Then, let's just get back to class for now. It's a bit hot here." Teren left without any more words.
Before following him, Iesa glared at Lina one last time before turning around.
Leaving Lina and Nick on the stairs, Iesa then heard a series of thoughts that if Lina said out loud, it would have greatly degraded Iesa.
'Potty-mind.' she only replied in her thoughts.
While Lina cursed in her thoughts, Nick just watched the kind class prez change of expression.
'Why are people here in this school like this!? And here I thought, I was tough!'
Coming back to the classroom, Teren just sat quietly and dozed off while Iesa found a comfortable position to stare at him.
'What happened to Nick?' the class thought.
Only when she heard the thoughts of her classmates did Iesa stopped staring at her seatmate.
Meanwhile, at the faculty of teachers, Hanon was having his morning break when suddenly, his phone buzzed.
"Hm?"
The moment he saw the message, he almost spat out what he was eating.
"This dude really just entered the school gate. What is he thinking? Does he think he's the superior one between us both?"
Meanwhile, those who can see the outside was noticed a car entered through the gates. That was when a tall and muscular man in a long coat and sunglasses walked out.
"Oh my, looked at that hunk!"
One of the girl students pointed.

Courier
Zoe Blanco moved to New York after fleeing the small town she grew up in and the Purity Church that controls it. The Church believes in keeping humanity pure. This means none of the NanoPCs known as Frames or any other cybernetics that most of the rest of the world uses and enjoys everyday. Upon arriving in the Big Apple, Zoe is picked up by her cousin and witnesses a courier weaving their motorcycle through traffic. Zoe envies the courier's freedom. Couriers transport data and on occasion small objects for anyone willing to pay the price. Secured delivery is guaranteed and no questions are asked. Like having a human servant in this corporate owned world, using couriers is seen as a status symbol for the wealthy and corporate elite. New York's criminal underground uses couriers for similar reasons. This gives the hundreds of couriers in NYC steady work. After weeks of not finding a job while living with her aunt and cousin, Zoe turns to her slicing skills to steal credits from the Purity Church and turns to the mob so she can get a loan to pay for the internal secure storage space a courier needs and a frame for herself. After making an unlicensed run or two, Zoe finds employment with a transport company and truly starts her life as a courier. This story is a mix of light scifi, cyberpunk, slice of life, a dash of action, and a smidge of fantasy. Slicing is what hacking is called in this story. Credits are currency in this story.
