"Everyone, please sit. I'm going to check the attendance." the teacher entered the room.
He began to call some names...
"Catherine"
"Present."
...
"Lina"
"Present"
...
"Iesa..."
"Iesa?"
The teacher looked around and saw that no one was responding to this call.
'As expected...' Teren thought and looked at the two empty seats.
"Psh, Teren, you seem to be close to the tall guy who sat beside me, right?" turning around, Lina asked Teren.
"Close? No, not at all."
"Really? I saw you come home with him though?"
"Uhh... he's just following me around." Teren waved his hand.
"I see..." Lina cutely nodded before turning around again.
'Does she know something? Maybe I was a little too hasty trying to kill someone on the first day. I should've studied everyone's behavior first.'
Teren silently tapped on his desk while he pondered with a serious expression.
"Iesa? I guess, she's not here."
When the teacher was about to call out the next name, the door suddenly opened.
With messy hair and uniform, Iesa entered while heavily breathing.
"Sorry, teacher! I overslept!" she said with dark bags under her eyes.
"O-oh... it's quite obvious on your appearance. I'll forgive you this time since it's just the second day of school. But be careful next time."
"O-okay, teacher. thank you. And I'm really sorry." Iesa apologized again before going to her seat.
The teacher just nodded and continued calling names.
When Iesa sat, she noticed Teren's eyes.
'Ugh...!' she shivered in fright. Even after resting, she never stopped sweating.
'It's because of that perverted old man! If not for him, I would've just stayed home. I would kill myself if even a finger of his touch me!'
'She seemed anxious, is it because of me?'

Teren is quite familiar with the behavior of normal people when they learned the truth about him.
Taking out a notebook, he ripped a paper out of it and wrote something.
When Teren's hand suddenly reached out to her desk, Iesa flinched. The piece of paper was placed in front of her.
The teacher noticed this but just ignored it.
'Young romance... so beautiful. I would think it's early but maybe, they already know each other before school.'
Iesa: 'So supportive teacher, but I would like it much better if you apprehended him!'
Glancing at the psychopath beside her, she took the paper and read it.
[I want to talk something. Let's eat somewhere private this break time. Don't worry, I wouldn't do anything at school. If I'm that dumb, I would've already been caught, right? After reading this, give it back to me.]
Iesa's heartbeat rose. She glanced at Teren again, waiting for the paper. Due to fear, she became submissive.
She gave it back.
'It's literally a piece of evidence but not strong enough. His words are too vague. He should be aware of it since he wanted me to give it back to him.'
Teren nodded and smiled.
Iesa gulped in response.
"Teren" the teacher called.
'Will he be reprimanded?' Iesa's expectations rose.
"Present" but Teren's response broke this.
...
"Mike"
"Present"
....
"Nick"
"..."
"Nick...?" he looked and saw that there is just one seat empty.
"Is Nick not here? What's happening? It's only the second day, people. Don't break your perfect attendance."
After the attendance, the teacher began his subject...
The school bell rang, signifying the start of break time.
Iesa stared at Teren.
'How could he sleep through this? Isn't he scared that the police will come after him? Also, what happened after I left? Did he... kill the bully?'

The school bell woke Teren up. A rubbing his eyes, he looked at Iesa, giving her the shiver once again.
"Teren~!" Lina turned around at that moment, "Want to eat with me? Nick is not here so you must have no one to eat with right?"
"Ah, sorry, I'm fine."
"Eh?"
Teren stood up which Iesa followed with a darkened face.
'Huuhhh-??? Is that a coincidence? Or are they together? What the fuck? Is it true? Iesa Hun, are you taking my doggy? There are a lot of doggies in the ocean, why not pick someone else? My doggy is mine, you doggy balls-licking thief!'
Iesa heard this but didn't have any energy or the mood to react.
Mike and Catherine's group was about to head out to the canteen too when Teren and Iesa walked in front of them.
This time, they were confused.
The two went to the canteen, quiet. Although Iesa followed him, she was a bit far and others wouldn't know that they were actually together.
Teren lined up to buy. However, Iesa didn't and just sat on one of the tables to wait.
'What does he want to talk about? I guess he wants to shut my mouth. What's he going to do? Bribe me? Threaten me?'
Almost all of the students there know or have heard about Iesa Hun. But, even if they don't know, their attention was attracted by her beauty or the heavy expression she was showing.
'What happened to her?'
'Maybe her boyfriend broke up with her? Lol.'
'What if I can console her?'
Iesa didn't care about any of them. She was thinking about her own safety.
After some time, Teren sat opposite her.
"You're popular but also intimidating? No one tried to sit on the same table as you."
Without them noticing, overnight, their roles were reversed.
Iesa was now being timid and nervous while Teren dominating the atmosphere.
The cause of Teren's change of attitude towards her is because he was thinking about his own safety too... just like the woman in front of him.
Iesa didn't reply.
"This isn't private at all, Iesa. Many are looking at us. Your appearance is very suspicious. I feel like I'm the bad guy here." Teren laughed.
'You're not?!'
"Do I have to threaten you or should we go to a more private area?"
Teren's gaze was like a hell of darkness to Iesa. She trembled in fear and feel like she has no power against him.
"But this is school, there are no private areas here, my bad, ahahaha-"
"I know a spot."
While Teren talked to himself, Iesa stood and led the way.
Teren followed. He expected this reaction.

Dungeon Scholar
Girl meets dungeon. What could go right? A story of a good-hearted Scholar driven by her compassion and curiosity. She might be a little combat averse, but um, isn't that only logical? Love me a good grimdark, but sometimes I want to read feel-good fiction that isn't pure action, romance, or comedy. The plot and characters of Dungeon Scholar won't be all happy and fluffy, and the world will be more dungeons and monsters than rainbows and puppies, but overall the sweet moments should overshadow the bitter. Let's say three dollops of sugar for every pinch of salt, with lemon slices left on the saucers? Enjoy. Note: This is NOT a typical dungeon story. If you are here for the dungeon aspect, then fair warning this will seem incredibly slow-burn to you. The dungeon will eventually become the most important 'character,' arguably, or the second-most important narratively, but you might jump out the window in frustration long before that happens. At its heart, the story's core remains 'girl meets dungeon,' not 'dungeon meets world.' (To be clear, this does or will have a plot! It's just the more conventional story-like elements contribute to Rowena Loress's greater story, not the other way around; no conflict takes center stage until it becomes personally significant to her. Meanwhile, have some Slice of Life.) Updates every Friday Cover made using Waifulabs Written using 4thewords (referral code: UZJRY55368)

Infested
One billion people from one hundred thousand universes have been dropped onto a singular planet five times larger than Earth. In the corner of their eye were three numbers: 1,000,000,000. 15. 10. Nobody could figure out what it meant until fifteen years after the initial transportation, as out of the blue, a message repeated itself in their minds for twenty-four hours. “Only ten can return. The rest will die. There is no time limit,” Following the global message, genocides ran rampant, with established friendships broken, families ripped apart, blood alliances betrayed, and leaders felled in seconds. How? [The Evgnomon] The Beholden; hidden throughout the realm were artefacts: weapons, information, tools from beings and societies of a higher plane. It was up to the humans to scour the land and take them by hook or by crook if they ever wished to go back. Whisked into this world as a mere babe, I suppose it was lucky I didn’t die in the chaos. But as I stare into the rotten, tattered pages of the accursed book laid upon the pedestal in front of me; and the unnerving gaze of our professor trained onto the back of my head silently pressuring me to become the avatar of grotesques unspeakable and undecipherable to the human mind. O, how I wish I did...
