《Loki’s Successor System 》Chapter 102: Hel’s Hymn

A Day Before The Great Rendell's Murder.
Inherently, Hel was a monster. He had his plans, and intricate fantasies that were to be deposited into reality—that were to be made real via any cost necessary. One of these such fantasies was a well yearned world in which he inherits the power of the systems—in a world where magic is restored to all. In said world he becomes the God of Mischief he so believed he was destined to be.
Hel sat in a black, fancy, vehicle, with a length akin to four of such. A fancy Lemo. Now, Hel was certainly not accustomed to such technological privileges. One could see it in what he had shrouded his naked skin with. He retained a dark anachronistic apparel. His black collar was unfolded, long and sharp. There were quite a few buttons down the costume; all of which retained a silky black look that gleamed brightly in light.
But Hel, a bright man he was and was not. He was incredibly clever. Though, most of his evil proposals and harsh conspiracies outweighed all good in every inch and corner. There was no light in his heart. Still he believed that his conspiracy to rule the world was a way of showing light. He believed he could make the world anew—a better place—if, of course, his autocracy was well pardoned by all.
In this extremely lengthy vehicle; there were eight men, including the driver. Another of these men—though not unbidden—was not supposed to be where he was today at all. Music played sweetly in the background of the vehicle. A sorrowful yet so powerful Hymn of orchestrated choruses. This particular Hymn was one as rare as diamond. It was said that it was sung with a thousand words in unison after the world's first end.
This song was Hel's personal favorite. Sitting straight and upright, he raised an index finger and revolved it in and out as if lecturing a group of singers on pitch and intensity. He smirked softly; his eyes were of a type that were not easy to delineate at all. One could not tell if he was sad, happy or angry with such. However, it was easy to see that this man was far from bewildered. A man who looked as though he was always thinking.

Dr. Desmond sat in the seat opposite Hel, unrestrained. He was the man who was not supposed to be where he was. Not around these monsters. He did have a concealed gun but they hadn't tied him up. Perhaps they were oblivious of his current possessions. But this, they weren't, unbeknownst to Dr. Desmond.
Dr. Desmond had only just flown out of England merely a few weeks ago; yet he was called forth back to London again by one of Hel's henchmen. The paranoia on Dr. Desmond's countenance as he remained seated was as clear as glass. Were they going to execute him, provided that he had done business with them knowing their identities. But identities, they had not, unbeknownst to him again.
Hel peered directly at Dr. Desmond. "Why so uneasy, Dr. Desmond? T'is Earth's well nurtured fate. The day in which balance and equilibrium will be temporarily restored before I manipulate it all; destroying such equilibrium again."
"What has it got to do with me?" Dr. Desmond chose to ask. "I've done what you've requested. I gave you all the pivotal details to heed when ravaging the headquarters of the northbound bureau. I did exactly what you wanted me to do."
"That was what you wanted, my dear weak humanly Dr. Desmond. Out of loath, you wanted nothing but bad done to the bureau. I may not understand why exactly; but I'm afraid I do at the same time."
Dr. Desmond furrowed a brow. "Then why did you not get all that bloody information yourself?"
Hel smirked. "Why should I have, when there was a man more than willing to give it to me free of charge, simply to quell down his hatred? Having you do it was the easier and much more promising route."
Dr. Desmond had quailed. "So just what are you going to do to me now! Are you going to murder me? I have a family! I certainly would reveal what I know about you to anyone else but myself! I can assure you so!"

Hel placed his hands atop his lips. "Shhhh. Be silenced. I do not get why you sentimental beings are so … well emotional. Why is there a need to escalate your voice when I am clearly sitting even in your hand's reach. You can pull your weapon out and shoot me now; without having to aim much at all. We are this close yet you choose to shout. I just do not quite get it.
"And … I am not going to murder you. You are too insignificant to die by my hands. In my humble opinion even a fly would be more worthy. You are simply about to die from me using your vessel."
"You monsters …" muttered Dr. Desmond under his breath.
Hel peered into his eyes. "Monsters you say? My followers and I do not feel, do not lie, do not fear. do not hate. Though we might experience some form of emotion; in our hearts we are not haters. We do not kill out of resentment, unlike you beings. And we kill so remorselessly in that we, as mentioned before, do not feel. Now, who are the monsters?"
Dr. Desmond averted his eyes. Speechless.
Hel continued, "Listen to the Hymns. Sweet, soft—perfect. It was sung by a thousand voices in unison in a long lost language that only I understand. These voices were that of the Occultists who did not believe in God and chose to serve the inexistent Satan. After the seven seals; servants of the anti-christ came together when the seven seals were being opened. Such servants consisted of thousands upon thousands, millions upon millions; beyond the implied thousand as per the song's title.
"One Thousand Voices of Remorse. It was buried deep into the earth; and lingered as the only remnants of these sinners. It was said that these beings saw the face of God; and they immediately became blind by what they saw. Yet they continued to sing the Hymns with soar throats despite knowing that the forgiving god was a jealous one who, this time, would not forgive.
"God destroyed the entire world, according to the song. Such was the power of God. 'We sin and sin until death, halt we will not. If death is not done unto us; sin we will.' was a part of this extremely long song. And everytime I listen to it, I become," his eyes widened, "more obsessed about God's power. I will recreate the song in the exact way; and have the earth sing it to me. I will be like another Satan; except for the fact that I will be real, and right there before the singers. They will worship me. Only then might God come, and destroy this wretched world again."
The vehicle had come to a halt.
Hel smirked. "Cheerio, Dr. Desmond. I will need to use your vessel to get into the building and meet this 'Mr. Karsia' you hate so much."
