《Loki’s Successor System 》Chapter 96: Three Days Of Happiness (7)

Jin had never ever gotten the chance to feel love. He was about to change forever. It was his final day as his old self. And he had decided to spend it wisely rather than squandering.
Jin had gotten what a taste of love felt like when Alura was present. Alura made his heart pound like drums. But he certainly did not really love her. She simply wanted to seduce him. Before changing forever; Jin wanted to experiment. Feel love that isn't unrequited like Alura's, all while making Sylvia his pawn.
"A date?" Sylvia's had heart crashed into her chest. "All the sudden?"
The figure walking beside Jin said, "She's got a secret, Jin. I saw it in her eyes; right under her innocence. She's hiding something from us. Maybe, I can take control a couple of times. I think I might be better at charming her."
Jin didn't agree with him. He swore to give him three days as his old self, and not bombard. Jin wanted to do it himself. How else could he feel his heart pounding for love? He wanted to get that feeling to assure to himself that he was still human; because he was surreptitiously assuming he wasn't anymore.
How much has he leaned away from being his old self even as his old self?
"A date?" Sylvia repeated. Did he hear the wrong thing? She needed to be sure. "Really? A date?"
Jin looked away. "Why not? You're pretty, aren't you? You shouldn't have any insecurities that'll hold us back. Maybe I could reveal some of my secrets," he looked at her, "and you could reveal some of yours.
"About what you said earlier … about ruining people's lives. I also did that in the past, and I'm still doing it today, either intentionally or not. And oftentimes, these lives are the lives of my best friends.
"I want you to know that; we can't be perfect. And sometimes, our lives need to be fucked with," he clenched his hands, "for us to get stronger. You made me stronger. Flint and his gang made me stronger. Life-fuckers make us stronger. And I owe it to you. So … I think date should work. What's it gonna be?"
Sylvia averted her eyes. Every time a car zoomed down or up the road; she was hit with the bright headlights, such that Jin was able to see that her cheeks were reddening. "Fine. I'll … I-I'll … go on a date with you. But you should know that I've had a bad history with dates."

Jin forced a smile. "I've got a place in mind. May I carry you?"
Suddenly, the figure beside Jin had disappeared. In an instant, Jin's eyes flashed green. Then returned to normal. Suddenly—out of no where, he smirked.
Sylvia was nervous. "C-carry?"
Jin retained his smirk; "Oh, you want me to carry you? Sure can." Jin suddenly stopped; placing his hand behind her neck, and one behind her curvy thighs. He then lifted her, Alan it effortlessly.
The ordinary Jin certainly did not mean actually lift and carry. But it was the mischievous Jin's way of charming. Jin was infuriated that the latter had taken over his body again.
Keeping the mischievous look, Jin dashed into the road of busy cars. Audacious. Sylvia blushed—feeling Jin's warm touch at her thighs. Scared, she tossed her head in the opposite way and closed her eyes—expecting to get hit by a car in the busy road.
She heard cars zooming past. And horns sounding. They would definitely get hit. What's gotten into Jin's head all of a sudden?
When she had opened her eyes a bit to peek; she was able to see that they had made it to the other side of the road, unharmed. She was about to sigh; when Jin ran straight for a glass building.
She held her breath again. Her heart thumped on. "What are you doing?"
Jin smirked again. "I'm taking you up."
Suddenly, Jin leaped unto the building; his feet touching the glass. Quickly, he dashed, and then dashed again; resulting in mini-shockwaves. He started to run up the building on his feet. Every two seconds, he dashed. Sylvia's hair was whipping behind her head, and blowing in the aggressive winds that ensued being at this height and speed.
In no time; they had made it to the top of the building. Jin, smirking, looked down at her; his hands still clutched to her thighs. "We're here."
She averted her eyes, blushing. "Are you out of your mind? That was dangerous."
Jin set her back on her feet. Standing tall, he glared down at her. "I'm a dangerous man, Sylvia."
She was looking up at him, but quickly looked away again. She stroked a lock of her hair behind an ear. Rubescent, she shot a few glimpses, looking at him from the corner of her eyes.

Suddenly, Jin's eyes flashed green, then abruptly returned to normal. The mischievousness on his face disappeared. And his smirk fell. He was back in control.
The figure reappeared beside him; serious. Having noticed, Jin looked at him, and snapped. "Don't do that again!"
Sylvia grimaced. "Huh?"
Who was Jin speaking to?
Jin looked at her. "I meant uh … don't do that again. Don't look at me with those side eyes; you're melting my heart."
She quickly looked away. "Fine. You clearly didn't have to shout it out like that but … whatever."
Jin looked around; realizing just how high they were. He pointed at a taller building in the distance. "It's the building where I was betrayed. It's higher up there. Let's go there instead," he said, still pointing.
Jin took Sylvia's hand. She hesitated, nervous. "But Jin … this building is just fine," she said, "That other one isn't that much higher than it."
Suddenly; Jin and Sylvia had vanished. They were no longer on the same building. Sylvia's eyes gaped. They were at the top of the building Jin had only just pointed at.
Jin released Sylvia's hand; and walked to the edge of the building; the front parts of his feet not under the surface. He didn't fear falling at all. He had changed after all. Usually, he was afraid of heights.
That was one thing that had changed. Now, he wanted to see if he could have still felt the strong pounding in his heart. The strong winds whistled in his ears, and blowed his jet black hair. He looked back at Sylvia at the same time.
Sylvia's black hair had been blowing in the strong gusts of winds as well. Her grey skirt suddenly got tossed up; such that Jin saw see her pink underwear covering her private area. She crimsoned, and quickly pulled the skirt over her underwear again. She kept both her hands atop the front of the skirt, but the behind was still blowing aggressively. Her underwear was still visible. She then quickly took her left hand off the front, and pulled the skirt down, setting her hands atop it to avoid having it get thrown up again.
Jin's body get taken over again. He suddenly said, "Want my help over there?" A smug appeared on his face.
Sylvia snapped at him. "No! You pervert!"
Jin regained control. "I told you not to do that!"
"Huh?" Sylvia raised a brow.
Jin looked at her, scratching behind his head. "You shouldn't look at me with those eyes. They're breaking me."
Obviously, Sylvia did notice his change in tone for the second time. She found it strange.
Jin sat down, perching at the edge of the building. He kept his eyes fixed at the sky. Thoughtful. Eventually, Sylvia joined him on his perch, sitting down right beside him, and leaving a gap betwixt them.
She slowly looked up at the sky. "She's a beauty, isn't she? Thousands of stars. Back in my childhood days; I tried reaching for the stars already. I believed so hard that I could actually grab one. I miss that level of confidence."
Jin glanced at her. "Something happened … didn't it? I mean in the past. Anything traumatic?"
She frowned; averting her eyes. "My parents were … murdered. During a back robbery; they were murdered for absolutely nothing. Back at the time when Flint took us to a restaurant to eat. You mentioned your parents being dead, so," she looked at him, "I'm sure you could relate in that regard."
Jin felt a surge of uneasiness. "My parents. Apparently, they hadn't died as I had thought they did. Turns out," he heaved, "it was hidden that I'm the one who killed them."
Sylvia looked at him, with widened eyes. "You … you what?"
"I said I killed them," he said, "it was my fault they died in that accident. They were fighting each other … fighting for so long. I couldn't stand it. I just … I snapped at them. Apparently, I had a telekinetic ability. Sent the whole car off the bridge. No wonder why I was crippled."
"You were crippled? How'd you rehabilitate?"
"Yeah, long story."
Sylvia slowly turned her head, until she was looking directly at Jin. "Jin I–" she blurted, "I … killed my parents too!"

Unique Fusion Magic Hex
World Essence. The mysterious energy coursing throughout the entire land of Vor'ten, and very possibly the entire world. This energy has allowed humanity to flourish, building great empires and vast kingdoms, conquering nature itself with just a sweep of their hand. Humans were the strongest existence, and with the help of channeling this World Essence, many were able to turn into Magic Knights, gaining magical abilities to combat the various fierce beasts throughout the lands.Alas... those glory days of old were long gone. Humanity has now been pushed to the brink of destruction, and now the remaining members of the human race are encased within giant domes known as 'Alkkras', made with the last remaining bits of the World Essence. It was said that those giant domes were the last gifts left by the remnants of the ancient human race, as a means to protect the future generation from the attacks of the many wild beasts roaming outside. Five Spiritualist Invokers, all combined together, used the last bit of the World Essence and sacrificed their lives to lay a gigantic, 1028-seal formation magic array to form these barriers, forever saving humanity, but also trapping humanity within these barriers. However, the humans were never completely helpless. No matter how little World Essence was left, the humans still had some remaining. Realizing the incoming crisis, the humans found a way to seal World Essence inside a special type of crystal. Soon, these crystals began to become implanted into weapons, turning them into World Essence Weapons, and they began to display properties of their own. Extreme heat. Bone chilling cold. Absurd sharpness. These normal weapons, after being imbued with the energy of the World Essence Crystals, began to form natural affinities to elements. Fire. Water. Earth. Wind. Darkness. Light. Using these weapons, one could become a Chevalier that wielded the power of the elements. However, if one wanted to reach a higher level of enlightenment and understanding, one could become an Invoker. Via the study of magic array formations, one could directly use the power of the World Essence to cast devastating magics upon the enemy. These people were Invokers, highly valued for their combat potential by the Army. These weapons and magical arrays were used in the great fight between the humans and the beasts long ago. They had long since been put away in storage, almost long forgotten...However, after ten-thousand years of suppression, the human race is beginning its counterattack against the Beasts... Synth was an Invoker in the Magecroft Academy. However, his talent was terrible, being only at the Spark Stage. This led to him being looked down upon and bullied. He was unable to cast any Calamity-rank or even Destruction rank spells, and was only able to cast Coalescing rank spells at the age of 17, a record low in the academy for cultivating these rare Invokers. Even though he put in more effort than anyone else, he was still unable to advance his Channeling Energy. But due to his constant research and study, Synth ended up creating a power that would go against the heavens - he had found how to Fuse spells together. After trying it out once, merging the magical array for the Small Fireball and the Mortal Judgement skills, he was able to create a mid-rank Destruction tier spell, Holy Judgement Flame. However, after this, no matter how hard he tried, he was unable to fuse more spells together or even cast them, and noticed a weird, pentagram shaped formation on his left arm. He would later call this mark the Fusion Magic Hex, a curse that prevented the wielder from casting magic that wasn't their own...This meant that with the exception of Synth's newly created skill, , he was going to have to create unique magic arrays if he ever wanted to step on the path of becoming an Invoker! This power that destroyed the laws of the Invoking System, and his unyielding persistence in testing and creating new spells, would later gain Synth the nickname the Unique Fusion Hex, and lead him to become one of the strongest beings in the entire World!
